Outstanding care and very professional staff. I trained military working dogs for over 19 years,…read moreand I have dealt with a lot of Vets, Techs, and Staff...to include emergency Vet services. These guys are great, straightforward and very good about keeping you up to date and informed. Emergency Vet services are never cheap, but I've paid far more for a dog having an allergic reaction, at other clinics, as compared to, this time, a dog with an injured leg. Very pleased, and very glad we used this clinic. And while it shows this location as closed...this is a 24 hour clinic with full ICU capabilities.

Zero if I could. My wonderful regular vet Doug Hendrix noticed elevated liver enzymes on my 12…read moreyear old Wheaten Terrier. He performed an ultrasound and diagnosed a 9.2cm X 5.6 cm tumor on her liver. So I made an appointment for Friday, August 14th with Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists Internal Medicine. I arrived at 8:15 for an 8:30 appointment. Dr. Edward Vasquez explained the two approaches to me and I chose for them to do a CT and a biopsy. I also said that I would be waiting because I live I Katy. I had paid the $205 deposit at the time of making the appointment and then paid $3645 for the procedure. At that point, they took Tiffy back and I waited in their very uncomfortable waiting room with hard benches and vending machines. I was told that they would probably not do Tiffy's CT until 1:30 and that she would probably be ready to go home by 2:30. Finally at 2:30 because I had not heard anything, I asked the receptionist to check on Tiffy. She call back and asked for a tech to go check and apparently that didn't happen so a few minutes later, I asked the receptionist if she would check again. At that point, Dr. Edward Vasquez came out and proceeded to tell me that he had other patients and drop offs. I told him, yes, I had seen several dogs comeing and going all day, but I had an 8:30 appointment. I have been here 6 hours and asked if they had done the CT of Tiffy. He said, NO, she had a port in her leg but they had not done the CT. I replied, "That's unbelievable It has been six hours". I said you have put other dogs ahead of an 8:30 appointment. He said that they could do a CT but it would take another two hours, but he preferred I just take my dog home and NEVER COME BACK!! Again he told me that he would take the port out of her leg and I should take her home and NEVER COME BACK!! I was shocked at this man's behavior and upset because I expected to get more information about my Tiffy. Then Nathan Hernandez came out and asked if I would bring Tiffy and come talk with him in his office. He said that he was an administrator. He apologized and said that he would help in anyway he could. I told him I wanted my money refunded and had already spoken with my regular vet for a referral to MedVet. I told Mr Hernandez that the receptionist heard the entire conversation with Dr. Vasquez and how rudely he had spoken to me. Dr. Vasquez needs anger management. On a positive note: The clinic refunded my $3850 and Nathan Hernandez called me that night to check on Tiffy. He asked that I not give the clinic a bad review but said that they were going to use this as a "teaching moment" for Dr Vasquez. My opinion is that they simply need to "teach Dr. Vasquez where the door is"!! If you love your animal do not let Dr. Vasquez near him or her. BTW--Tiffy awoke me this morning with Kennel Cough. Wonder where she got that from!!

OverPriced, Poor Diagnosis and Over medicated…read more I am writing to express my serious concern and disappointment regarding our recent visit with our pet. We have been fortunate that our pet has generally been healthy. We brought him to Lighthouse after noticing that he had fleas and had vomited multiple times on Saturday. However, he had not vomited again after Saturday, and we specifically communicated this information when we brought him in at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Despite this, Dr. Dhami administered an injection for acute vomiting and prescribed vomiting medication. Why was it necessary when our pet had not vomited for approximately two days and we had specifically made the veterinary team aware of this. Ridiculous Rather than prescribing Simparica TR, we were given a more expensive alternative. What is particularly troubling is that the individual tablets cost less than purchasing the package. It clearly reflects their money making attitude. Most importantly, we were presented with a bill exceeding $500 without a thorough examination and investigation had been completed. There were no conclusive test results available at the time.. This has left us questioning whether all of the services and medications provided were medically necessary. We were also very disappointed that no one contacted us after the test results became available. As pet owners, we expect to be informed about the results of tests performed on our pet, particularly when we have incurred significant expenses Disgusted - And when we called the office, no apologies, just excuses! Think twice before you go to this clinic and see Dr Dhammi.
