This one has a beautiful lake with a waterfall which cascades over a bridge walkway. The meandering shape of the lake is just so graceful and relaxing to look upon. Some cool features are the fact you can walk down to the waters edge and just take in the beauty of the water gently splashing up on the grassy shores with big Texas shade trees and baby ducks sleeping in the grassy areas. Sit on the walkway wall right above the waterfall and watch the waterfall as you drift away daydreaming mindlessly without a care in the world. There's a couple of picnic tables to bring a snack and just hang out with a total 360 view of the lake. Picturesque for photos. Nicely manicured grass areas and natural grassy terrain - you choose. Catch and release fishing. You can ride your bike up to the waters edge or drive your car and just park on the side. There use to be many large wild ducks and geese which would walk across Cochrans Crossing and hold up traffic. Don't seem to see the big wild ones anymore. If you do and are new to this park don't feed them. They'll come running fast after you and will ATTACK. I've been chased out by them snapping at the bottom of my jeans. I even had to throw pine cones on the ground to deter them letting them think it was food to escape. Anyway it seems like the LARGE WILD ATTACK DUCKS have moved on and the park is back to a more ZEN feeling.

There is also a nice pavilion on a small island accessible by a foot bridge. The fishing is also some of the best in The Woodlands. Right next to the spillway, this location attracts many water birds and fish. Access is tricky since you have to park along the side of Woodlands Parkway, which is very busy. The 98.5 mile, Lone Star Hiking Trail enters Stubblefield Lake at a trailhead just before the second bathouse and travels to the front of the recreation area to FSR 215, heads North over the West Fork of the San Jacinto River, then turns back into the forest. Water faucets are spaced about every 3-4 campsites and there is no electricity at the sites. It's a small campground suitable for tents and very small campers. Bath houses have hot showers. A quiet campground where you can camp beside the lake or nestled in the forest. Many people fish at the San Jacinto river bridge. Directions: FM 1375 west from New Waverly for 9 miles; turn right (NW) on FSR 215 for 3 miles.

This is the second of only three well-groomed parks in Montgomery that affords good walking paths and regular upkeep by citizens of Montgomery who use and value the park and Montgomery Public Works Services. The other two parks are Memory (Lake) Park and Fernland. There are play sets for children, shady swings and benches for the adults, a sand volleyball court, and a large rentable Pavilion for special events. There are two or three BBQ grills in the park for picnicking and lots of shade from the large old trees. The park is situated adjacent to the City Hall and Montgomery Police Department so it is safe for all. There are many who walk or jog in this park. There is parking for bicycles but because there are those who use the sidewalks for walking, cyclists are encouraged to yield to the bi-peds and four-paws. Better yet, park your bike and enjoy the park! Motorized vehicles are not allowed. Cedar Brake Park suffered quite a blow when a tornado ripped through it last year but Public Works got after the damage and now the park is regaining its strength though some trees are now leaning a little more than they used to. This park boasts a little bit of civilization by providing sidewalks in a city where sidewalks are the exception rather than the rule. There are regularly-cleaned public bathrooms. The park is well-lighted for pre-dawn and after-dark walks. There is handicapped parking and access making it easy for all to use and appreciate the park. Don't forget to say hello to Sam Houston, who regularly dons a Santa Hat during the Holidays. Sammy, Dude, you are so short! At Christmas time, local businesses "rent" the lamposts and decorate them, each with different themes and lights. At one point during the season, they are judged for their designs and awarded first, second and third place by the city. On-leash dogs are welcome and there are dog poop bags at three stations along with adequate trash bins. Dog Owners/Parents are urged to use these facilities and pick up after their dogs. Help keep our parks beautiful by picking up your trash and disposing of it properly. Make it clean for all to enjoy. It takes a village!

Feel free to bring a picnic basket and enjoy the beautiful woods in this small 2 acre neighborhood park. This also can be a teenager hangout at night but the cops frequent it at night now looking for underage or of age partiers. I wouldn't suggest parting here anymore. If you're looking for basket ball, tennis courts, cooking grills and restroom facilities you'll have to go further down Cochrans Crossing to the larger park. Parking is on the street curb.
