Let me begin by saying, don't waste your time. In total I spent an hour waiting to be seen here. It's clear these people don't value your time. After waiting and having them sit on my paperwork for an hour, the dentist tells me he can't "work" on me bc of my "condition." I told him it's not an issue and it's never been with any doctor or dentist before him, he sarcastically asks if I brought a letter from my doctor. I would have brought a letter if someone had told me I needed one when I made an appointment. I told him I'd sign a release form/waiver and he tells me we could do an exam today and I'd have to come back after they got a letter from my doctor to do any "work." The "WORK" was a CLEANING?!?!? The waiting room was small, their equipment was OLD making me wonder if the dentist inherited his dad's equipment or just bought a dental practice. Who knows maybe the YELP reviews came with the practice, I know plenty of restaurants who exchange ownership keeping the reviews. read more

I like the dentists here but the opening time for this place is ridiculous. They are only open from 7am to 3pm weekdays, closed on the weekend. When asked how people with jobs can make it to their appointments, the secretary told me some people go during lunch or at 7 am before work. Well, I work far away and my other job starts at 7 am so that is not going to work. Also, my other pet peeve is communication as when I emailed to let the secretary know what time I can come in response to her email, I didn't receive any confirmation email! I had to call the following morning to confirm whether I was still booked for noon of that day. The final kicker was when my alarm did not go off and I missed my appointment, so I called to see if I can still get dental filling done that day, the receptionist rudely said no, and did not even try to accommodate me after I had been a patient there for a few years. The other problem I have with this place is in the few years that I had been here they had given me ONE pack of toothbrush after my dental cleaning, ONE in maybe 4-6 dental cleaning that I had here. The fact that this place does not care enough about their patients to be flexible with their time is a big NO NO for me. I will now be going to a new dentist that is closer to my house and is open from 8 am to 7 pm. The new same dentist that was able to fit me in for an emergency procedure before my wedding when this dentist couldn't. read more

Wow! This is the best dental practice I've ever been to. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. This practice was really clean and it smells good. Not like that typical dental office chemical smell. Ashley was very friendly. She explained my insurance coverages in detailed without me asking. She made sure I understood my insurance coverages before scheduling my treatment appt. Dr. Htun was super nice, friendly, and knowledgeable . He explained every step in detailed as he was cleaning my teeth. Kim, the doctors assistant knew exactly what dental supply to give Dr. Htun without him asking. Talk about a good tag team. Overall, this is he best practice I've ever been to. I am lucky that I found Dr. Htun in the bay. He was so dedicated to work on my fillings. He explained everything in detail during and after the treatment, so I would expect what I may feel right after. His assistant was so experienced that Dr. Htun didn't even need to say a word for what he needed. She just handed over the stuff to Dr. Htun quickly and made the process going smoothly. Ashley was so knowledgeable to deal with the insurance plan. She also explained in detail about my copays of filling and how much they were expecting from the insurance payment. She even went over the plan breakdown with me to make sure I understood about my plan. The highest "like" about the office is the time. NO waiting! They started my appointment on time. I hate waiting. I have been several offices before. I waited for at least 20 minutes to see dentists. I am so impressed on the work that Dr. Htun did and the respect that I can feel in the office. read more

I brought my kid to Dr. Htun because of all the good reviews I have seen on the yelp. The result is just the opposite. My son is easy going and never complained about any dental operations in the past. This time, it was just two simple fillings. However, the doctor is training his new assistant and they tried it on my kid. They forced open my son's mouth with strong force, and that really hurt him. After he raised his hand and complained 3 times, and he even tried to push them off because it was too painful, all his complaints were ignored and he was told to hold on, for another 30 minutes!! I think this doctor is not responsible for several reasons: 1. Since he claims he was taking care of kids for many years, he should know that making kids feel comfortable is very important. Any sever pain or bad experience could make them scared of dental treatment for the rest of the life (at least the rest of the childhood). 2. If he wants to train the new assistant, that is fine, but that should be done to adults, don't use kids for uncertain experiments! Adults are not afraid to complain aloud, and they will refuse the treatment if it turns out to be too painful. 3. Once the kid complains, he should have taken this seriously and not ignore it completely. Just because my kid doesn't like to cry, it is not an indicator that he is happy or not being hurt a lot! My son complained a lot to me and told me that he would never go back to this office any more. I don't know why other people all give good reviews, but we are not going back for sure, and basically this is the worst experience for my son. I am not sure how much confidence he still have left for future dental operations! BTW, when I complained to Dr. Htun, he never gave any apologies for his wrong doing. Dr. Htun has been our family dentist for over a decade. Our family loves the professionalism and quality of work that he puts into his work. He always explains his work in great detail and reassures you along the way to help calm your nerves. The testament to your work as professional is to be acknowledge by your peers. I can attest to his high quality of work because I recieved multiple compliments from other dentists, while I was in the military, on how great my dental work had been. My husband and I recently started coming here for our routine check ups. I found his office to be very friendly and down to earth. Dr. Htun himself is very thorough, friendly and professional, and gives good care. You can tell he does not try to milk you for more money which is the impression I sometimes get from other offices. His assistant is very helpful and patient. My insurance company denied the claim for my husband's deep cleaning and I was afraid that the $800+ responsibility to pay would be on us--this has happened before (see my other reviews for Skye Dental and Dr. Quang Huynh--I know, we have super bad luck with dentists! ). Instead, he waived the whole thing. He did not say "I am giving you a break" or "I don't usually do this," he just said, "don't worry about it, just have your husband come in to finish his next cleaning, I'll waive the charge." He didn't even bad mouth the insurance! I am a small business owner on insurance panels and usually I like patients to know when I am eating the cost. He didn't do that, he just said not to worry. I've been seeing Dr. Htun for 11+ years since 2008. He is my whole families dentists and we are very happy with him. Probably due to genetic reasons, I got cavities quite easily even with careful dental practices. Dr. Htun did several root-canals and fillings along the years. He is very careful and gentle. I moved to Vegas and based on my experiences, cannot math Dr. Thun for his chairside manner and reasonable fees. I had deep cleaning in Vegas and was told I needed to have gum surgery. Lots of $, I flew into SF for a conference and Dr. Thun deep another cleaning, 3 times, and suggested that I could avoid surgery by flossing and seeing him ever 3 months. I have to say that I've had a lot of dental work done, and Dr. Htun's practice is by far the most professional, courteous, and - this is important! - painless practice I've visited. Work done: I had cavities filled, a deep cleaning. I had some old silver fillings removed and replaced, which I felt was well worth it. Fillings aren't meant to last a lifetime, and the new ones are easier to clean, comfortable, and are, for lack of a better description, way prettier. Highlights: - Staff is caring and friendly - Very accommodating to my schedule for last minute/late in the day appointments - Office is modern and clean. X-rays are taken quickly and comfortably. - A payment plan was drawn up and explained to me before any work was done. I could choose which procedures I wanted to do, and which ones I didn't think were worth it. An estimate of how much my insurance covered, and out-of-pocket expenses was provide as well. A very nice touch! All in all, I'm not a fan of the dentist, but I'm a fan of Dr. Htun's! I highly recommend him. read more

I visited the office for the first time by appointment because my tooth filling came out. Dr.Htun did not do anything except looking at my teeth and said it's going to take time to do the filling as his next pt waiting and asked me to reschedule for the filling even though I insisted to do right there and then. When I tried to reschedule with his assistance, she told me I have to pay out of pocket $180 even though I have the dental insurance. That's why I made another appointment with Dr.Htun. A couple of week later, I received the bill from Dr.Htun office charging me for emergency dental treatment for pain, which I did not have any pain at all, just need the filling, and no service done at that time. That's totally insurance FRAUD, waste of my time and money. BE AWARE!!! read more

After two painful experience for taking my toddler to dentist, I gave a try with Dr Htun from a friend's referral. Dr. Htun and his staff are amazing!
