I can't say enough how awesome Dr. Russo and his team is. We couldn't figure out what was going on with our Catahoula, and Dr. Russo and his staff went above and beyond trying to sort it out and give us options in treating her. Joann at the front desk is always so helpful and courteous, actually all the girls up front are. They have patience with me being a crazy worried doggy mommy, and discuss things so that I'm not left confused and over whelmed. Our girl isn't great with over dogs and they accommodate her every single time. When she came out of anesthesia they were very caring and comforting, she didn't want to come out of her crate so they let us come in the back to make her feel better. We were recommended by Alicia, a friend and staff worker to come here for a second opinion, it was one of the best things we ever did. Thank you all so much!

DONT BRING YOUR CAT HERE PLEASE…read more Dr Orabelo took a needle biopsy from my cat. She called me the next day with the results but yet when I read the report, it says there was evidence of endothelial cells, which MAY mean cancer. She never offered any pain medication or steroid medication or any medication for that matter. My poor cat has hardly eaten anything since seeing her. I never expected this in 1 million years. There was no compassion shown to OBI. Yet when I saw Dr Ulrich for my dog many years ago, it was a different outcome. She showed concern & really made you feel so comfortable. I called Dr. orabelo two days and she never called me back. When she did call me back, she called me on my home phone and I was not home. I told the office repeatedly to call on my cell. It's all about making money. It has nothing to do with the care and the concern for the animal or their family anymore. To add they never took an X-ray either.

We called ahead, and triage saw us within minutes of walking in the door, immediately bringing him in for assessment. Their team is AMAZING. Dr.Sylvane is brilliant. Her innovative care of Logan is updating and changing the Toxicology Protocol for veterinary treatment of minoxidil poisoning! She was pivotal in his recovery. Dr.Kartsonas is sharp, full of energy and dialed in to his patients. His early intervention one night pulled Logan back from heart failure. Dr.Federlin supported our family with compassion while giving care to Logan on the overnights. Dr.Gerber helped us in our transition to home, she was wonderfully kind and insightful with detailing his plan and individualized instructions. Dr. Ali communicated with toxicology on our arrival for resuscitative treatment. Huge thank you to their awesome Vet Technician/Nursing team- Toni, Nathalli, Juliette, and Natalia were fantastic in caring for Logan who was critically ill for days. Treating my family with grace and compassion during our many check up phone calls and visits. Toni was kind, supportive and informative even when we visited in the middle of the night. Juliette was gentle and attentive to Logan- he loved her. Ella at the front desk is so sweet, loving and helpful we enjoyed meeting her and Jolene. Nancy the service coordinator was on hand to help guide us through the emergency process with kindness and much needed humor. I know there are many others who aided in Logan's care, thank you all! We are extremely grateful for the stellar care we received at VCA Westbury. The only aspect I would alter was there was a delay in actual immediate treatment. After they took Logan into the back he was assessed and we though being treated for his critical emergency but before anything was started Dr.Ali came in to discuss cost of treatment, then sign papers and then go to the front desk to pay before they actually begin treatment. This was large delay as our dog was going into shock. I do see the need to address cost early on, because some people are probably not aware of the thousands of dollars involved in emergency treatments. However every minute counts when a patient is literally going into cardiovascular collapse! Pre-paying shouldn't delay initial critical treatment.

Thanks again to a wonderful team.

Making the decison to say goodby to Origami was one of the most painful and confusing times in my life. If you are struggling to help your pet transition in a pain free way and would like to do it in your home with the most gentle and kind person, please choose Alexis. This woman is a fraud, don't let the raving reviews fool you. If you want your animal to have…read moresolace in their last moments, there's no difference in what an animal hospital will do. Initially I was in favor of doing it this way at my Mothers discretion, she advertised it as a "beautiful thing" that would be personable, and intimate...It was the exact opposite. She shows up eager to get the process over with, and your pets last conscious moments will be getting tricked with a plate of whipped cream while she grabs them to inject the anesthesia. As I was understandably distraught and voicing my criticism's for the process which didn't reflect what was advertised, this liberal nutjob woman (who showed up in a mask lmao) THREATENED to stop the process and leave AFTER the anesthesia had been administered. Very professional. While I cried into my cats ear telling him how much I loved him, I had to be reminded by this woman "he can't hear you", and then asked "what's your favorite memory with him?" As my mother & I are breaking down sobbing over his body. 1,000$ for this by the way. It's all just for show, the selling point is having a half assed casket vigil in her trunk where she expects you to praise her as if she's doing God's work. To be honest, I didn't even frel comfortable having this woman drive off with my deceased Cat in her car, let alone her accompany my last moments with him. All to pick up his ashes at an animal hospital anyway....it's a sham. Like I said, you're better off doing it the traditional way or letting them pass peacefully on their own. This happened months ago and the fact i'm going out of my way to write this review now should show you how deeply dissatisfied I am with how it played out. It's just a way to scam sentimental people like my mother out of money they're more than willing to pay because of the love for their animals by pulling at their heart strings. If you're reading this; sincerely, Fuck. You.

Dr. Gothelf has been with me every step of the way as Charlie is my first dog. He is very thorough, attentive, and honest with his recommendations. He doesn't charge for every little thing and is really nice/friendly when handling Charlie. Charlie actually likes going to the vet and doesn't want to leave! Dr. Gothelf performed Charlie's neuter and dewclaw surgery. Charlie came home with a cone and his hind legs were bandaged up. He didn't have any complications or infections post-surgery and recovered within a week and a half. Syosset Animal Hospital also had a Halloween event and we were able to bring Charlie in his pirate costume to get a bag filled with treats and a toy. It was his first time trick-o-treating and he still plays with his toy! Overall, Syosset Animal Hospital is a great place to bring your pet for preventatives, surgery, or Halloween!
