Words can't express how much we appreciate the team at Jericho Animal Hospital. We drive about an hour in rush hour traffic from Queens to get our girl here. I can't say enough how awesome Dr. Russo and his team is. We couldn't figure out what was going on with our Catahoula, and Dr. Russo and his staff went above and beyond trying to sort it out and give us options in treating her. Joann at the front desk is always so helpful and courteous, actually all the girls up front are. They have patience with me being a crazy worried doggy mommy, and discuss things so that I'm not left confused and over whelmed. Our girl isn't great with over dogs and they accommodate her every single time. When she came out of anesthesia they were very caring and comforting, she didn't want to come out of her crate so they let us come in the back to make her feel better. We were recommended by Alicia, a friend and staff worker to come here for a second opinion, it was one of the best things we ever did. Thank you all so much! read more

I took my puppy to have a checkup And to get two vaccines at Jericho Animal Hospital.They brought us into a small exam room, and then the doctor went into the back room and starts talking with another associate and keeps us in there for fifteen minutes, doing nothing. The room was hot and my puppy was getting very nervous. Finally, when she did examine my puppy, she said, he needed two teeth pulled. My original vet that I used to go to did not say he needed his teeth to be pulled. Sadly to say, I would not recommend this facility. read more

DONT BRING YOUR CAT HERE PLEASE Dr Orabelo took a needle biopsy from my cat. She called me the next day with the results but yet when I read the report, it says there was evidence of endothelial cells, which MAY mean cancer. She never offered any pain medication or steroid medication or any medication for that matter.My poor cat has hardly eaten anything since seeing her. I never expected this in 1 million years. There was no compassion shown to OBI. Yet when I saw Dr Ulrich for my dog many years ago, it was a different outcome. She showed concern & really made you feel so comfortable. I called Dr. orabelo two days and she never called me back. When she did call me back, she called me on my home phone and I was not home. I told the office repeatedly to call on my cell. It's all about making money. It has nothing to do with the care and the concern for the animal or their family anymore. To add they never took an X-ray either. read more

Have been using Jericho Animal Hospital for many, many years. All of the doctors are wonderful and so is the staff! They have always been extremely professional and also very warm and caring! Our 9 year old Rottweiler was in their care since she was a pup. She would often see Dr. Orobello or Dr. Ulrich who both loved her! Great vet - the staff there are so friendly and nice, and the vets are good about not making my kitties more uncomfortable than they need to be during appointments. Every time I have been in here, strangers tell me how much they love coming here which is a pretty good testament to the quality. They seem to have a great boarding program for dogs that is highly utilized because everyone in there also talks to their dogs to remind them how much fun they had last time they visited! I have been bringing my dog here for 10 years now. They have been great up until recently. I brought my dog in a few months ago for a CADI shot, express anal glands and have her nails clipped. Nothing more than $100 dollars. The bill a lot more because they did a bunch of things we didn't ask for. I told them I wasn't paying for the things I didn't ask for. They gave me a big problem with that. They ended up lowering the bill considerably. I was there the other day and checked with them 3 or 4 times of what my dog was there for and caught them again adding other things we didnt ask for. we are moving on to a new vet. I've been bringing my pets here for 30 years. Since this office was bought out by VCA, and no longer privately owned, the care provided here has not been the same. I took out an insurance plan through the VCA for our puppy costing approximately $1200 per year. Today I called as soon as the office opened because my puppy was sick. I was willing to come in whatever time they were willing to see me. To my dismay, I was told that "we're too busy and cannot see you today". I was offered medication to pick up but not a clinical evaluation. I am a doctor and would never think of prescribing medication without diagnosing the problem first. I was insistent on my pet being seen and the answer remained the same. I made an appointment with a different vet office today. Someone that I've never met before was willing to help my dog but not my vet of 30 years. We've been looking for a reason to leave this office and this was the last straw. If you want your veterinarian to be there for your animal in their time of need this office is likely not for you. read more

Not only do they offer excellent veterinary care, but we have also left our dogs there for boarding when we go away to places they cannot join us at. We adopted two kittens from the shelter at the end of January and as is often the case with rescues, we had to deal with a few medical issues right from the start. Dr Urlich is not only knowledgeable, but truly a dedicated professional who loves animals. My cat has been a patient here for 15 years and the doctors and staff have continuously taken such amazing care of him. He now has Lymphoma for the past year and comes into their office 3x a week for treatment. They give him his medicine and take the absolute best care of him. Because of Dr. Cummings, Jeanie, and the rest of the doctors and techs, they have helped to save his life for over a year now. This office is GREAT! I have a Labrardoodle and a Lhasa Apso and Dr. Stephanie Ulrich takes wonderful care of them. There have been several times the dogs were sick and there was no issue getting an appointment. Before we even had our puppy home I called various Vet's to speak to them about a few items that concerned me (mostly over vaccinating). When i spoke to Dr. Stephanie Ulrich i realized I had found the Vet we would use for our new pup (he's now 3 and 1/2). She was and remains friendly, practical, open minded and knowledgeable. She always has time for us and all our questions. In terms of the office - I like the way it's run like a well oiled machine. I can only think of one time that we had to wait to be seen more than 10 minutes. 95% of the time we are taken at our appt. time or earlier. This means we spend very little time in a waiting room trying to fend off other dogs. Overall, I am very happy with Jericho Animal Hospital and I would recommend them. read more

Once again, Dr. Stephanie Ulrich saved one of my dog's lives by immediately assessing that my labrador Franki needed emergency abdominal surgery. Sure enough, and to my surprise, Franki had eaten something that blocked her intestinal tract. Although I fully believed my dog had not eaten anything, Dr. Ulrich was once again, correct in her diagnosis. Franki underwent emergency surgery that day and the foreign object was removed by Dr. Cummins. Franki recovered quickly and un eventfully and is her normal self. Kudos to Dr. Cummins for his "scarless" incision. Thanks also to Dr. Cavalieri who treated and loved Franki during her recovery and twice daily gave me updates. All my dogs love going to JAH because the entire staff shows them love. Definitely worth the ONE HOUR TRIP EACH WAY to know my babies are in the best hands possible. read more

I followed Dr. Stephanie Ulrich to Jericho Animal Hospital after she left Pet Vet. She is always available to me when my pets need medical attention. Her knowledge and compassion are unsurpassed. Dr. Ulrich takes care of my pets 3 dogs, 5 cats and foster rescues as if they are her own. Dr. Cavaliere has also proven himself to be another valuable asset to me and my pets. Dr. Cavaliere is also always available and takes the time to explain my pet's diagnosis with patience and clarity. One of the technicians Alex Pagan, really touched my heart recently. She came back to the hospital without being asked after working her full shift just to be with my pet when she needed emergency surgery. She also volunteered to stay overnight with my pet the very next day. This technician went above and beyond for my pet and for that I am truly grateful. All of the technicians are super compassionate and obviously very skilled at their craft.
