First of all, Dr. B. is an unprofessional, inconsiderate, lazy doctor. Why do I say this? Well, first of all, i went to see him today for my follow up appointment, and in the exam room, Dr, B. suddenly started coughing a lot when talking to me. I was sitting across from him, in close proximity, sitting on the exam table. So, I asked Dr. B. to put on a mask. Dr.B. didn't cover his mouth, and he wasn't wearing a mask either. To protect me and his patients, many of whom are pregnant, Dr. B. should have had sense enough, as a doctor, to at least wear a mask to protect his patients from his germs and coughing. But he failed to do so. Next, he suddenly left the room to tend to a patient that was feeling faint. What about me as a patient? Why did you leave me hanging doctor in the exam room, with no explanation, and no apology as to whether or not I was supposed to wait for him to return or not? Lastly, Dr. B failed to help me with the medical situation that I went to see him for in the first place, and was unwilling to do the training I needed that could have helped me, thus the low rating I have given him. For all these reasons, I would not recommend Ko'olau Women's Healthcare or Dr. Eesha Bhattacharyya to anyone, and I see that several other patients have also given him one star ratings as well.

Instead of simply scheduling an appointment, I was asked a long list of questions and told my information would be reviewed by the doctor to decide if she wanted to accept me as a patient. Meanwhile, my insurance website clearly listed her as accepting new patients. When I followed up on June 10th, I was told she decided not to accept me. When I asked if this was normal, I was told yes--that the doctor wants to ensure patients will be "good" and follow directions of care or something to that effect. Somehow, I found myself actually trying to convince the receptionist that I would be a "good patient," which in hindsight feels pretty awful. No one should feel like they have to plead for medical care. I went on to call another doctor the same day and was treated with professionalism and respect--asked basic questions and scheduled immediately. This whole process just felt unnecessary and, frankly, a bit gross.

(The doctor that referred me sometimes touched me inappropriately. I was young and wasn't sure if it was an accident-years later several women filed suits against him for "inappropriate" touching) Dr. Robb Ohtani always treated me with respect and concern for my health and my unborn son. I was trying to keep heathy and decided to do some walking. I had to go on maternity early as I was a heavy equipment operator in a warehouse that required a lot of heavy lifting. It was a wine, spirits & beer distributor. Lifting 1 case at a time, 20-30lbs, repeatedly wasn't the issue. It was hard wood pallets soaked in oil that weighed 50+ pounds...that was why I had to go on maternity... Well, I figured I wanted to do the best I could do for my son, so I didn't "just stroll" around Magic Island, I walked really fast...I didn't realize I was putting my baby and myself in danger! I was going to Dr. Ohtani once a week, and I was rather proud of my "power walks". Dr. Ohtani took one look at my blood test and blood pressure results and the smile on his handsome face was GONE! He told me that I was "PRE-ECLAMPSIA", and he ordered strict bed rest for me. It all became a blur - I remember him telling me that this was very serious and he would admit me into Queen's Hospital in a heartbeat if I didn't follow his very strict instructions. "No more power walks at Magic Island. No shopping. I was only allowed out of my apartment to for his appointments. That's it. I wasn't the best patient- I remember he told me to lie on either my right or left side in one of the exam rooms and I was NOT to leave until he said I could leave. Well, after 20 minutes or so, I thought that was enough... so I got up and started sneaking down the hall on tip-toes... Hoping the good Doc was in with a patient as I had to pass his office, his door was open. As I tip-toed to the door, I looked in only to see Dr. Ohtani lookup from his desk! I was busted and he actually yelled at me to get back to the room, get on the exam table, and STAY THERE UNTIL "I SAY YOU CAN GET UP!!!!" Even going to my Auntie & Uncle's Kaaawa beach house...I had to get Ohtani's permission. I was the always the driver, my husband liked to "ride shotgun" in the passenger front seat. I couldn't even drive there, I was to recline the front seat and lay on whatever side he told me to. Upon arrival in Kaaawa, I was to get out of the car and immediately lay down on "that side" and I couldn't go "squidding", or walking, or sit in the water... I followed the rules 98% of the time. I soon gave birth to a beautiful son, who has grown to be a handsome man. He's now 30 years old, and married to a beautiful lady. They are very much in love and one day soon, will have a baby...Wouldn't it be cool if Dr. Ohtani was her OBYN? It was about 3 years later, I was watching an episode of "EMERGENCY", and the very pregnant lady who had preeclampsia, was going into labor. My son played on the bed next to me...the lady was in a hospital, talking with her husband, both were excited their baby would soon be in their arms, when she suddenly started to scream in pain and blood started to puddle on the floor...nurses were scrambling and doctors- who ever was in the area, rushed to help and took her into an operating room... Husband was left alone in the hallway, waiting...someone came out with a healthy baby, with the doctor following behind... and the doctor told the husband that his wife was gone..they couldn't save her... That's when I truly understood....I sat there, on my bed...I grabbed my son and held him so very tight...he was ready to cry as he asked me what was wrong....I held him so close and I thanked our God for the miracle in my arms, and I asked the Lord to Bless Dr. Robb Ohtani, his staff, and the Queen's Hospital staff, to always keep these amazing, caring people, safe, healthy, and happy. Which reminds me, it's time for me to schedule an appointment for that uncomfortable gynecologist appointment. I love seeing Dr Ohtani and now that I've been a widow for 7 years, Dr Robb Ohtani is the only "action" I get!! Seriously, I recommend him highly! He is very knowledgeable and cares...

You can SEE his JOY in helping families!! It's so rare to find a gem like him in the medical field... and I'm grateful every single day for him and for his heart for women desiring to become mothers. I truly thank God for this man. Dr. Kosasa is, by far, one of the most brilliant and compassionate doctors out there. We are blessed to have him here in Hawai'i, contributing to our community by helping women and families expand our village through conceiving and carrying new life. There are so many women and couples out there who lose so much time (and hope) trying [often, unsuccessfully] to conceive on their own. After six months of trying for my 2nd baby with my husband, I got so disheartened and frustrated and was encouraged (by my mom, no less) to seek Dr. Kosasa's help. He had helped her conceive in 1995 with my brother and he helped her maintain an *EXTREMELY* high risk pregnancy with me in 1985. I met with him in early 2020 for help to conceive my 2nd child. He evaluated me, diagnosed and treated my main issue affecting my egg quality, production and release (thanks a lot, PCOS!). In less than a month of his treatment, I had a healthy, beautiful egg! Dr. Kosasa administered an HCG shot to provoke ovulation and instructed us to "try" for the next three days. We successfully conceived and over the next 6 months, he checked on me every single week and gave me progesterone shots to maintain the pregnancy. I gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl! In early 2022, I sought Dr. Kosasa's care to maintain my natural pregnancy with my 3rd baby. It was, yet another high risk pregnancy with sporadic vaginal bleeding, polyhydramnios and on top of that- at 14 weeks along, I had an emergency surgery to remove my appendix- a laparoscopic appendectomy. Dr. Kosasa cared for me and my baby so well that come that September, baby girl #3 was born safely. In December of 2023, we had a miscarriage and realized that we really did want to try for another child afterward. This was our third miscarriage to date. I wanted Dr. Kosasa to be a part of every step to address any issues and perhaps to repeat the same treatment we had with baby #2. We discovered in the ultrasounds in baby #3 that I had polyps in my uterus, which, per Dr. Kosasa, was most likely the culprit for the irregular bleeding and miscarriages. We scheduled to remove them via polypectomy (outpatient procedure) and within one month, we naturally (and unexpectedly) conceived our 4th baby. This was the first pregnancy with no bleeding, no complications, no issues whatsoever. I did have polyhydramnios again, but no one can prevent that. I gave birth to my 4th baby, safely and naturally in November of 2024. Dr. Kosasa has enriched my life and the lives of my family in such a tangible way that we get to see and love and care for every single day in our four babies. His care and expertise kept my life safe, helped my brother be conceived and born, helped three of my children be safe in the womb... I don't have better words for this man except that he is a gentle and caring prince.

Dr. Dominguez is also up to speed on the latest research and studies, and has been for years. She has a good sense of humor and is witty. I am a nurse myself, and from the time Dr. Lee delivered my baby, when my husband said, "he is the Michael Jordan of doctors." I couldn't agree more... he completely knows his craft inside and out. That is plain to see every time I visit. I love seeing his wife at the front desk when I check in, and chatting a little bit before I go to my appointment. She is very sweet! Someone asked me, what do I mean by "knows his craft." "Knows his craft" means someone has achieved mastery, exhibiting deep skill, expertise, and dexterity in a particular activity.
