Luckily, I found Pali Women's Health which was thankfully on the west side of the island near home. Pali Women's Health shares the same parking lot as Kalapawai Cafe. If there is no parking, you can find street parking, Chuck E Cheeses, or across the street at the old K-Mart. It's a small facility, but I felt that it was great for what I was wanted. I called in after seeing their Yelp page and requested an appointment. Someone called me within 48 hours to schedule and because I was a new patient, they even mailed me my forms ahead of time so I can complete it before coming in. The woman on the phone was really helpful and she worked with my hectic work schedule. My appointment was with Physician's Assistant Alisha who was awesome! I felt comfortable talking with her about my health and felt that she gave me great information based on my family's history on preventative measures and doing a cancer screening. I felt comfortable talking to her and the exam flew by quickly. I'd definitely recommend!

Receptionist's and intake MA have always been nice and professional greeting me with a smile and always saying hello. They are working so hard always on the phone or scheduling an appt probably amongst other things like doing prior auths for failed insurance coverage etc etc. They always knows who i am when checking in, and while sometimes we do have to wait because Dr Tsai is delivering a baby or seeing a new mother for her morning check up i am totally fine waiting. Dr Tsai has been my OB for 6 of my births and there is no where else i would rather be. She is hard working, selfless, knowledgeable, knows how to make critical decisions in a high stress situation and always willing to stay and answer every question that i have. Working in the medical field myself we can be the worst type of patient (LOL) but i trust her as well as her office completely. Anytime i had a concern that seemed "out there" Dr Tsai always put my mind at ease. Her Nurse Practitioners are also EXCELLENT: Kathy, Erica and Wimonrat. They have each helped me at some point and i am even fine with just seeing them for my routine check ups because they are that amazing. If you want a doctor who is there to actually help people and do so with exceptional care and love, look no further than Dr Tsai and her team!

Our first visit took half an hour for us to be seen because they came back from lunch late and were too busy talking and eating to check in patients. When speaking on the phone on more than one occasion, they've been condescending and rude and have hung up on me more than once when I'm just trying to ask questions. They would not allow me to speak to my OB/GYN and insisted that I must give them my personal information and tell them my health concerns instead which was super uncomfortable and not okay. They also went ahead and scheduled an appointment without my knowledge or consent and then got mad at me when I said I wasn't available that day. Unfortunately, after my recent experience with them, I'll no longer be going to this practice and urge others to do the same.

If you also want to deal with an incompetent office staff it is also the place for you! I have visited many different speciality offices, and this is the only office with rude office assistants and where I have waited the longest to see nurse practitioners or a doctor. While I understand emergencies happen, this can't be the case every single time. Asking for basic things like forms being filled out or having your records transferred seems to be quite difficult for this staff. Dr. Foley comes highly recommended and he does a great job at listening and building a relationship with his patients, if you get to see him. NP Jessica and Mel are also great, but NP Mel is a lot friendlier. Problem 1: Appointments are never on time; they are anywhere from 30 minutes or longer, our last one being close to an hour after our scheduled time. This has never been the case at any other doctor's office. Normally I am notified by front staff or a nurse periodically checks in with me. Not the case at Dr. Foley's office, they make you wait in the room by yourself with no update of when you will see someone. Did they forget about me? Not sure because again, you can never get an answer out of anyone. Problem 2: I asked NP Mel for my FMLA paperwork to be signed. I requested that they be returned by the end of the week and she said that wouldn't be a problem. Come Thursday, I called the office and asked for an update regarding my paperwork. They didn't have an update and stated someone would call me back. Later that afternoon, an hour or two before they were closing I called because I didn't get a call back. When I followed up with them I was met with, "if they didn't call it's not signed". I was astonished by how rude their staff is. Friday comes along and I have no form sent to me. If they needed longer then I wish this was presented when I originally placed the request and I would have been more understanding. Problem 3: At this point, I called another OB office who said they could have the FMLA form filled out the same day. I am beyond stressed with Foley's office that I no longer felt comfortable going to their clinic. I called to request my medical records be transferred over to my new office and that they send me the copy as well. I was promptly sent the authorization form. I requested that they confirm the form was received, never received confirmation. On Saturday, I wasn't sure if they heard my request for my medical records, so I emailed again asking for them. The following week, I waited until Wednesday to call to see how long my medical records would take. Again, I felt I was met with hostility with the staff. I was told legally they have 30 days to transfer and send me my records. Cool... I have never had an office staff actually take that long. Most places I have been to always send records over within a day or two at the most. Seems like this office is being petty and stalling at sending my records. Maybe I am wrong, but the attitudes of the staff make me think otherwise. If you are willing to wait for long periods of time to see a NP or be treated poorly, then this is clearly the place for you. I get better care at military hospitals than here. Hopefully the office resolves this issue soon, I would love to have my medical records!

Throughout my pregnancy, I also saw Dr. Beair when Dr. Leung was unavailable, and I always felt well cared for by the entire team. Dr. Leung was always reassuring whenever I had concerns and took the time to sit down with me and explain everything step by step. She never made me feel rushed and always made sure my questions were answered. I felt well taken care of throughout my pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum period. I'm especially grateful to her for helping bring our healthy baby girl into this world after so much longing and anticipation. I also appreciated the excellent care I received during my C-section and recovery, my incision healed beautifully and looks great. I'll miss seeing Dr. Leung and the team so often. I'm very grateful for the care, support, and compassion I've received from everyone over the years. I would absolutely trust Dr. Leung with any future pregnancies and all of my gynecologic care, and I look forward to seeing her again when the time comes.

Dr. Leung has been very attentive, informative and caring. I felt very comfortable asking questions during my second pregnancy with her and she even found a genetic trait that wasn't found during my first pregnancy! When I went into labor, she picked up in the early hours of the morning and met me at the labor and delivery room. I'm so thankful that she quickly went to meet me since she knew that my labor might be fast. She was with me every stage of labor and delivered a healthy baby. I couldn't get an epidural but she was calm and helped me get through it because she knew what she was doing. Thank you Dr. Leung for your excellent care and calm demeanor! Since I've gotten transferred and in Dr. Ikehara's care it's been nothing but a smooth transition and thee best care I have ever received!! This is my third pregnancy and each pregnancy I've struggled with finding an OB that didn't treat me like an transaction or in & out patient. This is my first OBGYN that I'm truly happy with and even though this would be my last kid (my husband and I agrees, 3 is a lot) that he makes visits so easy going and the atmosphere is always happy it makes us want to have another one after this. Also, he doesn't make any visits or vaginal checks awkward. I've had female ob's and seen a few male ob's in the past but by far... Dr. Ikehara and his staff (Carleen) makes everything so comfortable and you can tell that they love what they do. Dr. answers all your questions throughly, gives you professional advice, and is clear with it all--like no run arounds just straightforward and I love that. The last thing I needed was to be worried about VBAC and everything feels so right, I am due any minute and I am so excited for my babies arrival. The person who gave her a bad review bc of a billing issue really did her dirty! It sounds like they had an issue with the practice's biller, not with Dr. Sword's performance as an employed physician of the practice. Since I met her, she has listened to my concerns and provided me with educated guidance that has suited my needs. When I voiced concerns about getting pregnant due to my family history, she immediately set me up with a plan to find out if it was possible. Come to find out, I was pregnant while we were having that conversation. Dr. Sword made my pregnancy journey a smooth one. She answered all my questions and ensured I had the best care even when she was out of the office. I appreciated Dr. Sword setting up what they called "Meet & Greet" to ensure I was familiar with all the doctors in case I needed something while she was away. After I had my baby, I had some complications, and Dr. Sword immediately got me in for an appointment to ensure everything was okay. She continued to take great care of me until I was in the clear. The clinic nurses are very friendly and helpful, too. Pregnancy can be a scary journey, but I looked forward to all of my appointments. Being around doctors with great personalities and a sense of humor made me feel very comfortable asking any and every question that popped into my head. I called windward and let them know I was uninsured, to which they quoted me $300, and was able to schedule an appt for a little over a week later. I didn't read any reviews before making the appointment and when they mentioned I'd have a male doctor (they offered both male or female), I didn't have a problem with it. I've seen male obs in the past. My only issue ever was actually with a female doctor in California. I decided to read reviews about 30 mins before my appointment and definitely got worried based on the negative reviews for Dr. JP Clark. Trust, my blood pressure was high when they checked it. Dr. Clark was very personable. He made me feel comfortable. He did lightly touch my shoulder/knee but it was in a caring way, not sexual. He was very professional and honestly put me at ease with his demeanor. During the exam, the nurse was also in the room (I'm assuming this is a precaution based on reviews), but I would've felt comfortable whether she was there or not. I am all for supporting women and their feeling uneasy around men, but based on my experience with Dr. Clark, I have nothing but positive things to say. He took his time, addressed all my concerns and questions and came off as caring vs creepy. Hope that helps! They also only charged me the $300 I was quoted, which was amazing!
