Got to my appointment and she only helped me with one exercise that was nominal and did nothing for me. She took maybe 10 minutes with me about my issue. The rest of the hour we talked about personal things about her family and mine that were similar. She was very friendly, no problems there. She finally said that she really couldn't do much more. I could come back for two more sessions that would not be for an hour, but as I recall, she was still going to charge me for an hour and said she didn't know if it would help much. She referred me to a surgeon. I gave up on going to another Physical Therapist (PT) for 10 months. I figured it was a waste of time. I finally went to another one and within five minutes he gave me exercises that were phenomenal. Within two days I was seeing improvement. I no longer have any pain and I have phenomenal movement. The costs are extremely high. Like other reviews have said, they are dreadful about insurance, they are not informative about insurance, and even though they don't accept insurance, they are not very helpful about it. They are rude about it also. They do not explain things well at all. If you ask questions, they get irritated. I wish I had seen some of these reviews before I went. They were referred to me by someone who thought they could be helpful. Look elsewhere for your PT needs.

Several years ago, after going through the evaluation process for refractive surgery, I chose PRK…read moreover LASIK because I wanted to avoid the long-term risk of a LASIK flap becoming displaced. Looking back, I was not adequately informed about one of the most significant limitations of excimer laser vision correction, and I deeply regret not pursuing legal action at the time. The excimer laser typically creates a fully corrected optical zone of around 6.5 mm, with the surrounding tissue blended into the untreated cornea using what is commonly referred to as a "blend zone." The purpose of this transition is to reduce the sharp boundary between treated and untreated tissue. However, the blend zone is not fully corrected tissue. If your pupils dilate beyond the effective optical zone in dim lighting, as mine do, you have an increased risk of experiencing starbursts, halos, glare, and light streaking at night. The blend zone did not prevent those symptoms. Despite being characterized as an unlikely outcome during the consent process, I have lived with those symptoms ever since. I also experienced a complication after surgery when the protective bandage contact lens placed over my cornea slipped. The vision in my right eye became noticeably hazy, and the pain was unlike anything I had experienced before, which makes sense given that the cornea is the most densely innervated tissue in the human body. When I raised concerns with Dr. Anh Nguyen, they were simply dismissed. I was told there was no visible scarring despite the persistent haze I was experiencing, and that response never aligned with my own experience or subsequent vision. The potential for persistent nighttime visual disturbances is disclosed in the consent waiver you sign before surgery. They were presented as remote possibilities rather than meaningful tradeoffs that many patients should seriously consider. The paperwork acknowledged them, but the overall impression I walked away with was that they were exceedingly rare and unlikely to occur. By contrast, the therapeutic bandage contact lens--or the possibility of it slipping and causing lasting visual consequences--was never referenced or explained to me in any way. Meaningful informed consent requires patients to fully understand the realistic possibility of permanent nighttime vision changes and other complications before deciding to undergo an elective procedure. Whether the manner in which these risks were presented was the result of negligence, an overly optimistic view of the procedure, or a desire to encourage patients to proceed, I cannot say. What I do know is that the potential consequences I ultimately experienced were not communicated to me in a way that allowed me to make a truly informed decision.

After visiting with four different Urologist myself constantly in and out of emergency rooms and in severe pain 24-7 over the past year. I thought what the hell, he is my last stop on visiting Dr. Joel Andrew, I explained write away I didn't have very good health insurance and that he was my last stop. That all the other doctors especially urologist in Winchester was more concerned about my insurance and how I was going to pay than that what my medical issue was. That I was usually the 1st. one in the waiting room and the last one to be seen and then I was mostly used as a training aid! That I was on 5 different kinds of pain medicine and that if he couldn't be of help to me, let me know up front. After having me explain my entire situation to him. Exam and reading my MRI results the first thing was to get me off all pain meds. Get me back on Flowmax and to follow his instructions. After few rough weeks, I begin feeling better write now at about 90%. It's good to know there are still doctors out there that will take time to listen, that are still professional and are sincerely there to help the patient/ What a good Urologist and staff.
