Karen has been cutting hair since she was 14. She'll be here until June 2015. Hit her up.

The campus provides hands-on training in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and nail technology, giving students valuable real-world experience under instructor supervision. The staff is welcoming, the learning environment is supportive, and many clients praise the quality of the student salon services and the professionalism of both students and instructors. While services may take a little longer since students are learning, the attention to detail and excellent value make it well worth the visit. Overall, it's a great place to learn, grow, and receive quality beauty services at reasonable prices. I had a great experience at Milan Institute South. Everyone was friendly and professional, and you can tell the instructors really care about helping students succeed. The students take their time to make sure you're happy with the results, and the prices are hard to beat. I'd definitely recommend Milan Institute South to anyone looking for quality beauty services or considering a career in cosmetology.

I saw an ad showing they have discounts for services so I decided to go check it out for the fun of…read moreit. I was not expecting much out of the visit other than having some fun. The scheduling over the phone is a disaster! This is why I gave it 4 stars! You tell them you want a certain time, they agree with it then you receive a text with a totally different time! I am not sure how to make them understand that the appointment is for 2 people... I gave up on this part and decided to visit regardless! Every service we did was $5! Can't beat that! Once you are there even with an appointment it became a first come first serve deal. 2 girls grabbed us and were kind enough to keep us for all the services. We started with the facials which is pretty much basic but both girls did an amazing job and having us relaxed and sharing the tools for both of us in the same room... then moving on to nails! Same girls took care of us and they went above and beyond to keep us happy! Then time was getting tight they got us 2 hair stylist and these same girls decided to give us the pedicures while doing our hair! Those poor girls brought the portable tub to soak our feet... I cannot express enough how sweet they were and loving what they do! The names of the girls I believe are Alondra and Lana. Make sure you go and request them before they graduate To be fair the vibe of this school is more on the professional side. I have been to other schools and they do not have the pedicure full chairs neither they would scrub your feet the way they do at this place It is a bit far to get to, soon I am going to go back and check out more of their services

They actually take their time with the students and care about your education. Mr. Gonzales is lazy as ever and only talks about food and his wife while going through slides that are posted under announcements for you to read on your own anyway. Literally being taught nothing. I don't even understand why he is working when his health is SO bad and he frequently has to miss class. He will even answer personal phone calls IN THE MIDDLE of a lecture!! His phone constantly goes off during class BLASTING some rock music "Oh I'm sorry I forgot to text my wife I made it to work." Excuse me?? Not acceptable!! How are you supposed to concentrate or learn like that? As far as the programs, whatever you choose: First off you start with regular in person classes the first few mods. Then mid way in and the remainder of your schooling, unbeknownst to you, your classes are randomly switched to ALL ONLINE with instructors that don't respond to student emails, don't grade assignments on time, do not communicate or know anything going on with the class at all, even reassigned an instructor already weeks into the class. Highly unprofessional and disappointing! THEN you wait your whole program to get to the career services department only to be disappointed, horrified and in disbelief about how TERRIBLE that department is ran. The manager of the department David Sowers, is exactly that: SOUR!!! He has a poor attitude, rude, unresponsive, and thinks helping students is above his pay grade! He does not care if you are a student or not he will treat and talk to you with absolutely NO respect. He possesses 0 leadership qualities and does nothing so I do not see how or why he is even in that position but maybe if they REPLACE him then the department would be better off as a whole. Gilbert does not a thing either but sit in his office all day so what is even his purpose? He is completely unhelpful but yet him and David are buddy buddy. I don't get what they are doing all day. Therefore Stephanie is overloaded with everything which RESULTS IN you constantly having to stay on top of her to get things done and no one on one time at all, they bust into her office every 5 minutes with or without a sign on the door. So how helpful can she really be? Who leaves work early to attend a child's sports game, so us as students have to suffer since she wants 2 be gone 4 the day? Scrap the ENTIRE dept and start off with new staff completely! Like seriously. They can't keep a fully staffed career services dept to save anyone's life. They all quit! Staff changes within that dept every few months. The contracts they have for extern sites are few and in between. They are OLD AND outdated, they do not actively find sites for you, instead the STUDENT is expected to find the site on their own and bring it to them. Unbelievable!! Why are we paying all this money to come to school to get to the end of the program and feel helpless? Oh and site visits? Yeah right!! The career services reps do not even check on you during your entire 6 weeks on extern, must less a phone call to see how you are doing. You are completely on your own. No job leads or nothing. They don't keep the "student connect" updated with jobs either. They just streamline you out to whatever garbage site they have already that 9 times out of 10, is not even hiring and just abusing the students for free labor! What a joke. This school is just money hungry, they are quick in admissions to keep calling you and making you enroll in school then after that NOTHING! I thought it might have just been the location but the school itself is ghetto ran down and dirty, including some of the staff! The staff cares nothing about you except for your money. I would NEVER attend this particular campus again. Worst experience ever. Trust me or not but for anyone considering this campus PLEASE save your time & your money, there are WAY better schools out there to dedicate your time and money to.
