Their hospitality leading up to the ride was fantastic, the weather was a bit 'iffy' so we ended up pushing back to later in the afternoon. It was still a bit cold and overcast when we arrived and we ended up being the only couple to join them. Blankets were in the carriage waiting for us and we were greeted as soon as we pulled up, the ride was enjoyable and informative... we learned about the farm and a bit about the battle, both Bill and Bonnie were super friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them! After the ride was over we had the opportunity to go back to the barn and meet all the horses. We learned more about each of them and got to feed them carrots, absolutely worth the price and a ride we would definitely do again, hopefully under better weather next time!

We have two little kids and they loved the playground, outdoor ping pong table and outdoor movie night! They handed out free popcorn and even had a piñata the next day in celebration of cinco de mayo! The coffee and ice cream in the market were both delicious and the staff was very friendly. The rec room had great games and a craft center for the kids which was great since we did get a lot of rain on day 2. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back- the website gives a great rundown on themed weekends. Almost forgot one of the most important parts- the bathrooms were so clean and accommodating! Little things that you may have forgotten were stocked for you in the ladies bathroom.

Campground Island is a unique spot on an island in the Conewago Creek. Recently purchased and being…read morerevitalized by the new owners, I see this campground having lots of potential in the future. The staff were amazing and very friendly to interact with during our stay. You can tell they were taking pride in the changes being made to the campground. The common areas and community room were nicely renovated with large outdoor fire pits and seating. Pastries and coffee were available in the store on weekends and regular events throughout the summer were scheduled. As a new campground/ownership, there were a few quirks that we experienced. Check in is all online and when you arrive you go directly to your site. There is no office, vehicle registration, or tags for the sites. This has its positives and potential drawbacks with monitoring who all is accessing, driving, and parking in the campground. A nice mix of sites exist, with some being cramped in, others more spacious, and some with odd placement of hookups which were tricky. They do have buddy sites for people traveling another family/rv. One issue that we did experience was the changing of the type of site we had booked. Several months prior when booking we booked a full hookup site. It wasn't until we checked in did we find out that we were moved to a water/electric only site for our stay. This was a bit of an inconvenience and when we called we were informed that they had to move a monthly customer to the full hookup site and they didn't have a sewer run to our new site yet, but there was a dump station onsite (not the same as a full hookup site). Overall the location is very nice with the trees and creek surrounding the campground. As the owners continue to make upgrades and changes to the campground I do see it becoming a great destination!

Paradise Stream was a fun relaxing camping trip with friends and family…read more This was our first visit and we were impressed. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The campground is large and organized into different sections/site types including cabins and glamping tents. There are sites overlooking the lake and ones that are more secluded. Our site was in the 200 block and very level. It took no time at all to get the camper set up for the weekend. Water pressure was good and steady power. WI-FI was also average for a campground. If you enjoy a campfire and plan on staying a few days spring for the "cage" of firewood/weekender. It is a large metal cage of firewood they deliver to your site for only $50. That may seem like a lot, but with single bundles costing between $7-$10 at most places this is a deal. We had a steady campfire going for 3 nights/days and still had wood left. There are amenities for kids and adults from the pools, lakes, and activities to the wine shed and music. Everyone can find something to do that they would enjoy. There is a well-stocked general store and ice cream shop!

The shuffle board and pickle ball areas have been updated for this year, and all the other areas are still in great shape - pool, game room, gaga ball, etc. Spending time riding around the campground in a golf cart is a must if you want to see everything. The views from the top near the lake are spectacular! Glad we made this one of our summer 'homes!' It does not disappoint!!

Finding it was difficult even with the GPS, but they do provide instructions on their website. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and our room was ready. It wasn't large, and the level of amenities isn't the same as a Hilton Hotel, but you come here for clean rooms and lots of trains... and this place had both. They have a large deck overlooking the railroad bridge, and a mock-railroad dispatcher board inside and outside that shows you in real time where the trains are. Within the first 20 minutes of arriving we saw three trains, and by the third I didn't even bother to pull out my camera. It was like that all weekend. If you are awake you can hear (and feel the trains), but none woke me up in the night so their noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast was french toast and sausage one morning, and pancakes and sausage the next day. They were good. Free bottled water and some cereal and other things are available, and they have a fridge for guests to put food in. There were dozens of train books and magazines to read when you weren't talking with other railfan guests or watching trains. Keith, the owner, was pleasant and knowledgeable about the trains. Sadly, it rained heavily the Friday and Saturday nights we stay (we were away during the day), and it was cloudy the rest of the time. Thus, a lot of my pictures were gray and it was too dark, wet, or cold to sit out on the porch for most of the time. That isn't the fault of the BNB though. It is a train-watchers paradise. Next time I come, I will plan to just sit inside all the time and watch trains!

They replied back that I could do so. They asked when I planned to arrive. I answered back between 6:30 and 7:30 am. Keith then replied that 6:30 am was too early (to avoid waking up the guests) and 7:30 am would be better. I noticed in the Bridgeview website that they are technically open at 7am. I then replied back if 7 am would be okay and I was simply launching my kayak from their ramp (No intention to check in and disturb them). This was his reply: No it is not OK. First of all check in is not until 3pm. There is no way you can bring your vehicle in here, back in, park and launch without disturbing people who are sleeping. You canot come in here that early and disturb our guests period. I am not going to argue this point. You should have told us this up front instead of now. We had site 109 for our 33ft camper was so tight and zero privacy with your neighbors sewer hookup at your door and cabins staring at your picnic table at the rear. We apologized to our neighbors when we were leaving while they set up their breakfast and we dumped our tanks. If they widened sites it could be a decent place to stay because it seemed updated. We went to mountain creek 16 minutes down the road and enjoyed a W/E site with room to move.
