And then the weight began for our server who finally arrived and took our drink order. One thing that really disappointed me is that they have absolutely no prices listed on their menu. I expect this from a five star location, but not the Carsonville hotel. A table of five adults with two kids were seated shortly after we were taken care of. They had the same server as we did. We had placed our food order as we were going to share a steak tenderloin salad, and their buffalo chicken nachos. Nachos were lukewarm at best as well as the tenderloin on my salad. Once our server finally came back by we had to send the nachos back to be reheated and they really weren't all that great. Had to literally track down our server just to get a refill of a soda. Lousy service abs the food was subpar at best Won't be back. To add insult to injury the large party that was seated shortly after we were ordered their big jumbo wings and their orders were up in minutes while we were still waiting for ours.

Decent beer list with all the usual domestics and a few crafts. Service was friendly, attentive, and had plenty of character. The menu has basic bar favorites. We split an order of cheese fries, which were decent but not spectacular. Back in the day, Carsonville's hand-cut fries were renowned but our server admitted they were frozen these days--and we appreciated the honesty! On our visit, outdoor seating was open along with an open air bar. There's a great-looking front bar that was closed during our visit but looked great--hope I have a chance to check it out in cooler months. All in all, this is a fun destination with basic food and drinks...but worth the trip for atmosphere alone!

Both were excellent, and my sandwich was a decent approximation of a Buffalo NY favorite (roast beef on a kimmelweck roll). Authentic "weck" is impossible to find in this area and I appreciated their attempt. Our bartender/server also brought additional chips for The Meltdown after we devoured the first batch. Whatever tortilla chips Flincy's uses are slightly thicker and ideal for this queso dip. Service here is fast and friendly. There's a large indoor bar/seating area as well as a nice outdoor bar. The outdoor space is enclosed and heated during cooler months and is a great open air spot when the weather warns up. Full bar, nice beer selection, and a decent wine selection for a place like this.

This was one of the few places that was open, so came here for food. The ambiance is nice but old. This was a swanky place in the 00's but the times have changed. Not too far off from modern styles but not bad. Server was very kind, let me peruse the breakfast buffett and decide on my meal options. The buffett was very standard, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, assorted pastries, you know the drill. I looked through their menu and asked if they could do a French toast. They said it was on the menu and it wasn't. I then took a gamble. I told them to warm up some bananas and brown sugar and place that as a sauce on top of the French toast. Essentially trying to force them to make a impromptu bananas foster type French toast They tried, and the results were pretty good! They didn't actually warm up the bananas and brown sugar. Instead they warmed up the bananas and sprinkled brown sugar over the dish. They did add extra cinnamon so they mostly got it right. Then they put warm maple syrup on the base and put the French toast on it Although execution wise it was a slip, the flavors were all there. The French toast was custardy and cinnamon forward with the brown sugar, warmed banana, and maple syrup made for a great sweet bite. Price was 14 with the add-ons (not pictured is a very large bowl of vanilla ice cream. Little too big to add into pictures) which also included orange juice, coffee, and a side fruit. You get your money's worth for sure. Overall, a pretty successful gamble. Not the best breakfast fare but they go above and beyond for the customer.
