Left the comfort of our Airbnb to check out the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and would have preferred visiting the actual bridge instead of taking pictures from so far away. This particular trail is out and back. Great if you love peering into gorges but there's otherwise nothing interesting to experience.

The trail is flat (but a big rocky). It' offers not only a glorious view of the Rio Grande Canyon, but if you're lucky, you'll see a few tarantulas, lizards and it's almost a given you will see some bighorn sheep (either on the rim or in the canyon). The trail is easily marked and stretches on for 9 miles. Turn around whenever you want. When you get back to the trail head, check out the vendors of native crafts and other artisinal wares. (If you're brave enough, carefully look over the edge!)

And Stuart, the lead, was organized, prepared, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and skilled at everything that was needed to make our trek fun, comfortable, and positively memorable. The llamas were gentle and sweet, Stuart cooked great food, and the views of the lake where we camped were spectacular. I'm so glad I was able to make this adventure happen. First off, it was very confusing as to how to get into the cemetery. We had to pass through the park, which is under construction and just looked very rundown. We had to use the porta potty and it was horrible. Urine covered the floor. The small cemetery, itself was pretty rundown. The only thing that made my visit worthwhile was that there was some vandalism that reminded people that heroes did not rest here but rather thieves against indigenous people. It was obvious that Kit Carson's grave had been restored after many years of vandalism.

Britt, the owner, met us before we headed out for our float, and we just casually conversed until it was time to go. Our outing coincided with a group of 25 Boy Scouts, so we could've been quickly lost in the shuffle, but Socia held us back and let the kids get way out ahead of us, so we felt like we were all by ourselves for the majority of the trip. She was so considerate and engaging and made it feel like we were on the river with an old friend. At the end of the trip, Britt met us again and hung out while we ate just casually conversing as if once more, we were catching up with an old friend. Considering this was the first time for two of us and my second time rafting, we all did well thanks to Brian's coaching and guidance. Everything is easy through Far Flung's reservation system, the check in process is easy, everything laid back like it should be. Thanks for a great paddle y'all, give that man a raise!

There are…read moretwo play scapes two sets of swings a tennis court and at least two areas of walking paths as well as a large area to play any other sport. It is fenced in. And there are tons of picnic areas. This has been my go to play area for my child when I come visit. It's also off the main road so it nice and quiet with beautiful mountain views.
