Excellent service, made everyone feel safe, got to explore the mountain and be in the wild! Tour guides were fantastic. Definitely recommend for anyone of all experiences or levels of riding to do it here!

Hank ... not the cow dog... loved hanging with this young man!

Ohhhhh myyy word‼ we loved our snow mobile ride with Hank and Michael!!! EVERYONE had a blast!! Polite, fun and hospitable folks! We've been to the Cowboy Evening dinners in the summer and the summer crew is equally friendly.

The snowmobiling trip was fantastic for my family of 5. We had 2 doubles and a single machine. The 30 minute trail guided tour was good to get you comfortable with the machines before you got to their meadow where they let you explore by yourself. Certainly a fun adventure and they even had a sledding hill that we took about 30 minutes to play on, racing one another. Both guides were charming and lively, which made it fun.

Bobcat Pass Wilderness Adventures, lots of fun!

Wish I could remember the names of our guides (Jan 16 @ 11am) because they were a blast! First time snowmobiling and we would come back and see these guys again. Henry was great helping us get the reservation complete, and helped add another snowmobile when we had one more join just the day before. Lots of fun, many families with small kids enjoyed the ride and the sledding that is available. Thanks for a great memory!

Super kind and helpful from beginning (phone reservation) to signing in to guiding the ATV tour. We did the two-hour trip in the late morning to try and avoid afternoon showers, but we got absolutely drenched anyway in a surprise downpour. No matter- our four kids loved it completely, and I think it was my husband's favorite excursion ever. These people couldn't be kinder- use them for your fun!

Great time with great people. Michael and Gibson were awesome!!!! A+++ experience for the entire family

We booked the 3:30 pm snowmobiling sunset tour. The views were beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. The check in staff was super friendly (forgot his name, but a nice fellow from Lubbock) and the tour guides were great. I highly recommend this activity while in Red River.

As we got close he decides to stop in the middle of a wide part that we could have easily passed him. He started waving his hands at us to stop and gave us a pissy look. THEN he decides to back up and move over and let us through. We have been Jeeping the trails of NM and CO for almost 20 years so we're not rookies. We had the right of way and he stopped in the middle of a wide spot. We have been offroading in the area for over a month now and this was the only rude person we have passed on the trail. Everyone else has been smiling and accommodating to others as are we. After we were done with that trail we were wanting to do another and I had remembered researching one but didn't bring the info with me. I figured one of the outfitter/tours/adventure stores might have a map. The first place we passed was RR Offroad. Walked into the mess of a front waiting area and he yelled he'd be down. Lo and behold it was the same rude guy. Explained I was looking for a offroad map and he abruptly told me no one in town would have that kind of stuff. That seemed odd. I also asked if anyone in town sold stickers with the passes/trails on them (like they do in Silverton/Ouray so I could add to my collection). He laughed at me and told me just to grab some of the dirt as a souvenir. Which in a national forest I'm pretty sure is illegal. So I said nevermind and walked out. We went down a block to Bighorn Sports & Rentals and I walked into a clean shop with a guy behind the counter with a friendly face that was glad to help me figure out where the trail I wanted was and happily sold me a map. Now I'm not sure if this guy's attitude changes as long as he's getting your money. But after the day's encounters with him there's no way in hell I'd give him one dime of our hard earned money. Buyer beware. And yes this my first ever Yelp review. I was treated THAT bad.

I wasn't looking to learn any tricks, but had become comfortable enough on the road that I wasn't feeling the need for much rudimentary work. I had taken the MSF class a couple years ago but never rode again until recent weeks, at which point I had taken the bike out for a collective 100 miles or so. Do I really need a riding lesson? Come to find out, I totally needed a riding lesson! I didn't realize how much I would benefit from physically getting to know the bike, from experimenting with my weight, counterbalance techniques and handle bar steering, being encouraged to make tighter and tighter turning radii. It was all so basic, yet all so enlightening, and 3 hours flew by. Cassie is a tiny little lady who handles a big@ss BMW adventure bike like a dang legend (and she seems to be in proper standing with some other legends in field too). Even my annoyingly self-confident husband handed it to her. But also, she's super unassuming, very knowledgeable, and intuitively perceptive about what needs explaining and how. As a female rider, my experience with male riders (husband included) has been that they are less likely to understand my fear of dropping a bike, falling over, or breaking a hip! Female riders have been more understanding of that initial timidity, and Cassie offered just the right level of empathy and encouragement. That said, she doesn't only coach gals. Her website actually advertises "Everybody Only. Motorcycle Training for Anyone." And you better believe that she's prepared to train you, regardless of your gender, your riding level, or your goals for motorcycling. For the record, her prices are very reasonable, and she offers individual and class training environments. She travels to location too. We met in a big parking lot off Pan American, but from what I could tell she was willing to meet me in a location of my choosing. Highly recommend this trainer, and can't wait to go back!

What a fantastic horseback adventure with Big Al and Blake. Al picked us up at the entrance to Taos…read moreSki Valley in the "Pope-mobile" -- his 4-wheel drive truck with a tall camper. I have to say that Al is as nice as the day is long. He is interested and interesting. He is eager to hear where we came from, as well as to share his history in the Taos Ski Valley. He is one of 34 year-round residents of the area. After signing waivers, he drove us roughly 30 minutes up the mountain to his horse camp at 10,500 ft. in the mountains. He assessed us for experience and fit us in duster-sized rain slickers, to keep us both dry and warm in the mountains, he said. We didn't hit any rain, but there were grey clouds on the peak next to us and lightening in the distance, so the slickers were obviously a good idea. Next he gave us a lesson on horse handling and safety, and had each of us practice on his saw horse models. Then he and Blake helped everyone saddle up and we were off...Big Al at the front and Blake at the back. We had a great 2-hour ride through the mountains with beautiful views of Taos Ski Valley and Wheeler Peak on the Bull of the Woods Trail. At the 12,000 foot summit, we were close enough to touch the last snow of the season (if we were't on horseback) which thrilled the kids on July 3. It was a glimpse of the mountain usually restricted to expert hikers...truly a privilege. Every one of our group of six are convinced that we had the best horse. My daughter was on Rio and I was on Blanco (the best I'm sure), the rest of our group were on Badger, Ace, Milagro and Payday. These horses are obviously used to riders of all experience level--were we handling them or were they handling us? The ride ended back at the horse camp. On the literature they advertise a 15-course snack, which for us was a big variety of sodas, snack cakes (twinkies, little debbie, etc), granola bars, peanuts, snack crackers, cheezits. We sat and snacked and truly enjoyed our visit with Al and Blake. On the way down the mountain, we asked Al what would be for dinner had we chosen the ride that ended with a chuck wagon dinner. He said: Shrimp cocktail Mozzarella/tomato salad Pasta Grilled pork loin Apple pie with maple syrup However I'm sure the menu changes occasionally. Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it would be good. Our ONLY disappointment of the day was that we didn't get photos of us on our horses. Once we were riding, it was hard to manage a camera, as you always had one hand on the reigns and one on the saddle horn. It would have been nice to get a group picture, or even to stop at the more scenic places. Besides that, we were thrilled. Now for the 411: 2 hour ride with snack was $65 plus tax or $70 per person all in. 2 hour ride with chuck wagon dinner was $85 plus tax. Overnight with dinner and breakfast is $145. We saw the bunks and camp and it seems like it could be a really fun adventure. Overall...6 thumbs up from our group of 6. Thanks Al, and thanks Blake. It was all you said it would be and more.

The owners have constructed two "casitas" and a cabin which they have appointed tastefully and completely. They are very well stocked with appliances for a short or extended vacation. There is a flat-screen TV in the living room with a large selection of DVDs to view and several shelves of interesting books to read if you wish. That's right beside the wood-burning stove that would be a delight in the winter. Bring your pets as well as each unit has an adjacent large enclosed chainlink fence kennel which is both covered and protected on one side to hold your dogs in comfort while you're out wandering the forest trails. Of course all horse owners will want to know about the equestrian facilities. They're excellent! Large paddocks with electric and water hookups. Each unit has a large run-in shed, gate access is easy, and the paddocks are easily visible from inside the living quarters. Large stock tanks are provided. There is ample space for your trailer and easy turn-around drives. Finally, all of this would be diminished if the facilities were old and in need of updating and repair as so many horse resorts are. But they're not. Everything is well maintained and and in excellent condition. The owners are dedicated to this place and it shows.
