We had a tree fall on my grandmothers home last night knocking out the power. Williams Tree Service was so amazing, they called back right away and had a crew out within a couple of hours! They safely removed the tree from the roof and power lines. It was a challenging job because the tree had fallen from across a creek and a steep embankment. They got the job done quickly so that PG&E could come hook my Grandma's power back up. They did such a nice job, even going to the extent of cleaning up the deck and picking up items that had been knocked over by the tree. I HIGHLY recommend these guys! read more

I had requested quote for a pine tree. Dennis came out and the man one shuffled as he walked. he was an older gentleman. I asked about a pear tree to be topped off. then took him over to pine tree. He never answered my question of safety putting someone in tree. He goes on a tangent of drains and ditches and counsel people for 15 mins. I just wanted to know a price. He mumbled through questions. Wrote a quote I didn't understand and he thought the pear tree was an apple tree. I called asking for a new quote and he's the only one. They said his brother could come out. Called 3 days ago and still waiting to hear back. read more

What a wonderful job they did on my 40 year old deciduous oak tree. It's enormous they brought down the height, shaped the sides and thinned the inner branches. Dennis Williams an arborist said with the proper pruning I should be good 5-7 years. They brought the bucket truck the day before and were on the job by 7:30. Eight hours later just finishing up. Left the place so clean and nice. Yes it cost an arm and a leg but I still have one of each left You get quality work, they take credit cards and trees are a valuable asset to your yard and uncared for can be a major liability. Protect your investment, hire Williams tree service, his experienced crew are courteous hard workers very kind, his office manager called halfway through to see if I was happy with job, Dennis monitored the progress closely. These trees were huge and Williams Tree Service took them down without impacting anything else on the property which is really amazing. I signed a contract with Williams Tree 10 weeks ago to remove a tree. They kept rescheduling and said their crane was being serviced. I kept calling for updates and was told Dennis would call me back but he never has. I eventually lost patience and have gone with another company. We had a mini-toronado in Corralitos which brought down two giant redwoods and broke off another four. Dennis was there on Easter Sunday to clear our driveway. Willams Tree Service has been a family owned and operated business in Santa Cruz county for over 35 years. Dennis and his uncle Bill are old school men who do exactly what they tell you they will do, exactly when they tell you they will do it. (Actually, they did more for me than they said they would do.) They cut down a 60 ft, very dead and very dangerous tree right between my own and my neighbor's house. Every twig went into the 10 x 20 ft area they said they would put it into. No rush, no drama, no mess; totally pro. And cheerful good company to boot. At a very reasonable price. Recommended without reservation. We had them remove a very large (over 100 foot tall) Eucalyptus on the edge of two shared driveways serving several homes. They were on time, thorough, professional and efficient and they left the grounds in excellent condition when they left. This was a four day project and they were very accommodating to allow cars to pass while they used heavy equipment and trucks for hauling away the logs. The most impressive thing was the knowledge and high quality work of the individual men who took down the tree carefully and professionally. Would definitely use their service any time. read more

Hired by our neighbor to trim trees in our yard without discussion. Only stopped when informed of a court order. Man in charge very rude and hostile while I was trying to discuss the details. Once the sheriff spoke to the workers, they were polite and careful to not overstep boundaries as spelled out by the sheriff. read more

Excellent Customer Service! I did not get a chance (yet) to have Williams Tree do any work for me, but I will in the future based on their service and communication. We noticed our mature bamboo grove had a lot of new growth rapidly approaching the power lines on the street. Had called our usual tree service but they were too busy to trim for a few weeks. I then called Williams, as the company I work for had been on a job site with them and our Project Manager had nice things to say about Williams Tree. The office staff immediately put me in touch with Dennis. He came right out to the house. He called me at work to say that I did not need to waste my money- if I called the utility company they would do the job at no cost to me. He also said the bamboo was not very close to the power lines. Knowing my hubby was worried about the power lines, I asked Dennis if he could do the trimming anyway. He was ready to do it the next day, at a good price, but repeated that it would be free if I had the utility do it. So as I pull on to my street that night, I don't see the bamboo near the lines. Turns out the utility had already done the trim job! Which is why Dennis said the bamboo was really not too close to the lines. Williams Tree was fast, courteous, professional, ready to do my trimming the very next day, and even though it was money in their coffers, Dennis really tried to save me the money. We had three large eucalyptus trees (up to 90 feet) removed from our property last week. Williams' was the only bid that promised not to damage the large oak tree that was nearby and we were extremely happy with every aspect of the project. Dennis Williams is experienced and responsive. These trees were quite a challenge and they finished the job in three days with a large and capable crew and equipment leaving my property undamaged and spotless. The price was right too. read more

Dennis was great! We asked the city for a permission to cut a tree , which was damaging the sidewalks and driveway, but the city arborist did not allow us to remove the tree and recommended to put a root barrier. We asked few companies to bid for root barrier and Williams Tree Service was one of the companies. Dennis came to our house , checked the conditions and said that he cannot put a root barrier. He grew up in the area and he knew that there is a rock and very small amount of soil on top so the roots were not going down but in parallel of the surface. A root barrier would require the roots to be cut and the tree will fall. He called the city arborist and explained the case and since there were no other options the city arborist came and signed an approval to remove the tree right on the spot. Needless to say we did not even ask other companies to bid for the tree removal. Dennis offer was very reasonable. The job he did to remove the tree was amazing. He showed up with may be 10 or more people, few huge trucks, crane and other machines. I went to work and when I came for lunch everything was gone and clean. read more

There aren't enough stars to express my satisfaction with the service provided by Dennis Williams and the crew at Williams Tree Service of Watsonville. I had three very large dead/dying oak and madrone trees removed from my property in Scotts Valley in October 2013. As a homeowner, I hang around the job site to watch when I have work like this done but this didn't bother the crew at all. The terrain was dicey (steep hillside) and the trees were very close to neighboring homes and fences, so safety and accuracy were paramount. I'm pleased to report that the job was performed flawlessly! Alex the climber was fearless working 60 feet up in the canopy hanging from a cable at the end of an 80 foot crane boom, surgically limbing huge sections of the trees, while Gary the crane operator brought them down to the staging area with such control and precision. Their crack ground crew then chipped the small branches while gladly measuring and cutting the larger pieces so I could keep them for firewood. The job was finished on time, they cleaned the entire yard of debris before they left, and the final bill matched the estimate EXACTLY. You would be hard pressed to find a safer, more professional group of guys in the tree business. I will DEFINITELY use these guys again! read more
