My horses name was Sheriff and he was very gentle. They also have pigs, goats, and miniature horses. We were able to purchase a bag of carrots for $4 to give to our horses as well as the other horses/animals. Thank you to Dallas and Emma for making our day great. They even stopped halfway to take pictures. The horses and animals were well taken care of. The staff was most knowledgeable and seemed to love their jobs.

The then-owner brought it back to Amy hoping it could have a second career as a hunter. The gelding passed the vet exam, bloodwork and flexion test, so I purchased him. I live out of state and had him shipped to me. The horse has had lameness issues shortly after purchasing. I've had him now for several years, had him on glucosamine/hoof care supplements for several years, glucosamine injections monthly now and now powdered bute. He's been x-rayed and found to have bone chips. I've tried to contact Amy by phone leaving a voice mail several times and texting her, and also emailing to see if there had been any previous x-rays performed being requested for review by my vet. NO RESPONSE!!! I then tried contacting her husband, Chris, by several methods. Again, NO RESPONSE!!!! This shows me they are not responsible horse sellers! I definitely do not recommend them.

Judy and George from Eastfork Stables, did just that. They showed us grooming, getting on...and off (yes there is definitely a right and wrong way to do both) a horse. They even taught a city boy, like me, a think or three about horsemanship. Above and beyond their knowledge of horses and their mannerisms, Judy and George are incredibly patient. The kids (and the grown-ups) had a fantastic time in the hills around Eastfork Lake. Take a step...and a breath...away from the city and just relax and enjoy. GREAT getaway!

There's so much to see and do here! It's beautiful for a walk or for a fun adventure for little kids. When you visit, I would highly recommend walking back through the petting zoo area to the garden/farm. There is a lovely lake, a large windmill, and several labeled garden beds. There is even an apiary area where you can see honeybees in action! There is nice garden seating (picnic tables and smaller tea tables) so bringing a picnic is wonderful here as long as you don't mind bringing your food out to the garden. The plants and crops grown in the garden are not for picking, but it's really neat for kids to see all of the vegetables and fruits and herbs growing to learn about pollination! The animals are well cared for and are often active either out in their yards or in the barn. There are over 20 horses at this equestrian center, and you can often spot them out in the pasture or giving lessons or pony rides. I have not paid for the paid attractions like pony rides, but there are helpful staff ready to assist if you are interested. The playground here is a lot of fun - there are slides of varying sizes and my toddler was having a blast exploring! We also find the entire park very clean and well-maintained each time. Finally, I've attended a program with my elementary students at Parky's Farm for several years past and the staff do such a great job teaching kids about farm life and different aspects of the farms operation, like weather patterns or animal and plant needs. I would highly recommend any of the programming that the great park staff facilitates here. Park's farm is such a hidden gem and is a wonderful institution of outdoor fun and education!
