Upon arrival they had already set up the arrows for us to use and put the targets together. We all rented equipment as none of us had shot an arrow before with a bow (gloves also provided) - Renting was $10 per person. The owner of the shop was very helpful and went through a quick lesson on how to hold the bow and arrows and gave sort of a crash course. This was BEYOND helpful and very appreciated. The odd thing was how close together you were next to the person shooting next to you, each person had roughly 1 foot for them to stand sideways and shoot your arrows. We had the freedom to move the targets and move between shooting lanes as we wanted - the freedom given was crazy! We ended up creating our own competition between the group - the area is small though and other people who were actually skilled at archery had come in and we had to try and be respectful of how they were coming in for actual practice. Overall - was a very fun, different, activity and the place was more than accommodating. Would recommend if you are looking for another team building event outside an Escape Room. This place offers year long memberships, and members can bring guests for a small fee. The only downside is that the membership was not affordable for me, while I was in graduate school, so I missed out for over a year of living in Wilmore, before becoming a member. I wish they provided more information in their promotional materials, website and over the phone, and I may have found a way to join sooner. I felt like I was not given enough information about membership, prior to becoming a member. Overall, I feel very fortunate to have such great outdoor shooting, archery, and camping place in Jessamine County! This place is located right outside of Wilmore, which is a quaint, small town. I look forward to well-utilizing my membership here!

I took my new (to me) Hoyt Vixen to them to have the draw length adjusted, install a new sight, adjust the peep sight, and have arrows cut for me. I'm new to the sport and I know that was obvious but they were patient with me as they helped me get the bow set up correctly. There are plenty of sporting goods stores in Lexington that sell archery equipment but I think R&R is worth the trip to Georgetown for the level of service and selection they offer.

Dicks in Hamburg and Fayette Mall, Sportsman Warehouse, and Field and Stream are all cheaper and have qualified bow techs with a return policy. Nothing explosive or dangerous unless consumed, shoved up your nose and or butt, or shot with... Nope. Weird hill to die on but representative insists that lead is dangerous and is correctly incurring their fee. I also pointed out how about 80% of their bullets for loading do not incur the fee but quite a few bullets do. I'm new to loading ammo and checked with multiple reloading groups. This is not right or normal. Someone just doesn't want to do their job or they're really money grabbing scum. Either way avoid them. I saw their grand opening sale ad in the newspaper and drove down to check it out and maybe buy some gear. I put on my mask and walked into the store about 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, (during a week when Covid-19 was running rampant). I was met by a young female sales clerk not wearing a mask who approached close to me. When I asked her "aren't you supposed to be wearing a mask?" she responded "No". I noticed that NONE of the sales staff were wearing masks. A moment later the manager/owner approached me, so I asked him "Aren't you and your sales staff supposed to be wearing masks?" He said "No". I told him I was a senior and caregiver to a 94 year old veteran and needed to keep him safe. Then I asked him "isn't it the law that you and your staff are supposed to be wearing masks in a retail store?." I never raised my voice, was polite - just asked that question. He responded "No!" and told me to "please leave my store" and shooed me out. I was shocked. This is the first time in my life I have been asked to leave any establishment. Maybe the owner thinks he's being tough, or that no one can tell him what to do, or even patriotic. If so, maybe he should rethink his position in light of the dozens of veterans who have died from Covid at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, just down the road from his store. I will never go back to the Whitetail Heaven Outfitters Store in Nicholasville. NOTE: I don't know why the Yelp site is saying I'm from California.
