Based in MN, I was driving back from a gig down south and decided to explore my options in dealerships across the country to find a new vehicle that fits my preferences. After corresponding with Chicago, Knoxville, Madison, and Minneapolis, I reached out to Willis after finding a 2019 model that fit every single checkmark. Because it was the latest model, I really did it on a whim, thinking, "I couldn't possibly make that work." Derek Heckman became my point of contact. We chatted on the phone and corresponded by text as I drove north from FL. From the moment we started talking, I found his energy and candor on the phone incredibly pleasant, warm, and authentic. It felt like talking to an old friend. Within a couple hours he presented a pricing structure that was close to what I was seeking, and after ironing out a few details, the dealership signed off on the exact price I envisioned. After driving 2000 miles, I was hospitably greeted by Derek at the dealership, he walked me through what to expect, introduced me to everyone involved in the process, I signed the lease, and after packing it up, I was off in the new car. Everyone I encountered was easy-going, accommodating, and made the experience legitimately feel special. As I began my 200-mile trek home, I drove over a piece of metal debris on the highway, and immediately received a notification that my tire was flat. I had only made it to Ames! Twenty minutes into my trip! It felt like the universe was trying to balance out my high from such a positive, easy, perfect experience of getting this car. It almost felt unsurprising. I called Derek. Told him what happened. Though it was after-hours, he made some calls and told me to get back to the dealership. I had to spend the night in Des Moines, but was assured the shop will take care of the tire in the morning. He asked me what coffee I like at Starbucks, and that he would pick me up in the morning from wherever I was staying. And thus, BMW Concierge arranged the tow truck and the Lyft to the hotel. The next morning I was back in my new car, with a new tire (provided out of good will), on my way home. I felt compelled to write about this experience because I was so taken aback by the quality of customer service provided by this dealership. It was astounding. I wasn't treated as a customer, but as a guest, a person, a friend. My salesperson went above and beyond any expectations or pre-conceived notions I had about the car-leasing process, and I have the highest respect and gratefulness for his efforts. Wow, what else can I say? BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!! My wife and I live in KC, but found the Cadillac we wanted at Willis Cadillac in Clive, IA. Through multiple phone calls we made the deal over the phone. We drove up on the following Saturday and were greeted at the door by a professional woman who asked us if she could get us anything while we waited. Then Kerry Graham (salesman) met us in the lobby. He was professional, caring and treated us family. During the financing Brent Appeldorn had all the paperwork prepared in advance and explained everything in depth, so we fully understood. After that the Pre-Owned Sales Manager Kathie Bradshaw walked out into the lobby to greet my wife and I and tell us "Thank You" for choosing Willis Cadillac. Pretty disappointed in their Volvo Service department. The only reason I came to the dealership was to buy from Kathy Bradshaw as she has sold me my last 6 cars now. I took my XC90 in to get the oil changed, rotate the tires, and fix a tire senor or a leak that is causing the tire pressure monitor to go off. You would think that is would be a easy service call and wouldn't expect to have anything go wrong. When we went to pick up our car, my wife called me and said that the tire light was still on. I told her to have them look at it again, the service guy said that we needed to drive it around for a bit and the light would go off, well its still on and we still have to put air in the tire also. To make it even worse, there are oil/ grease stains by the key slot and where they put the sticker for the next oil change. I guess I will have to take it to better service shop that will take care of my concerns. read more

Willis Auto Campus / Mini of Des Moines is the BEST Mini Dealership I've been using them for 4 years. Excellent service, reasonable prices. I recently booked an appointment for a battery replacement, and misread my confirmation email. I drove the two hours to Des Moines, showed up at 9am on Saturday morning for my battery service. The service advisor informed me that they didn't usually do Saturday Service on Mini's. After reviewing my confirmation and seeing my mistake, (the appointment was for the previous day), they found a technician to replace my battery and had me out the door in under an hour. The service department is top notch. On the rare occasions when my service is NOT completed the first time, they make every effort to make it right. My 2009 Clubman runs better when they service it. If you're going to drive a Mini, Willis / Mini of Des Moine is the only dealer to use. read more

The buying experience at WillisAutoCampus at 100th and Hickman in Clive Iowa was fantastic with our salesperson, Ken going above and beyond what is expected of a car salesman. He was thorough, polite, professional and always answered my texts in a very timely manner. I felt the negotiation were fair for the asking price of the new vehicle and fair for my trade-in. The delivery was very informative. The Accessory Department add on did present a slight problem with getting everything done at delivery. The addition of bumper protection, hood protection and mirror protection was a fractured process; it took two trips from the dealership to my home to pick up the car and return it and one trip by me to the dealership to get the protective film applied to the front bumper and driver's side outside mirror. I recently bought a new Infinity from Willis (traded in my 10 year old Infinity for a new one) I have been a loyal customer with Willis for years and have never been disappointed. Friendly & dedicated employees, honest & trustworthy service, great facility, very clean, and there is always a loaner available if a repair or service inconveniences me. Most recently I had my Infinity in for an oil change and 5,000 mile check. I chose to wait at Willis during my service appointment since they have such a nice customer lounge area, I was able to catch up on work and enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting. Cadillac sales manager was excellent. Very personable and eager to earn my business. Finance department could have done a better job following up with me on the progress of obtaining financing. BEWARE the surprise "delivery prep fee" that pops up at paper signing. They actually charge you $200 to prepare your car for delivery!! WHAT? isn't that an expectation? I was not given the option to not have it prepared for delivery. I'd consider that a cost of doing business but they do not. Then when I did my initial walk around, the wash job was mediocre. If they say they wax it before delivery, its not true. Water and soap spots peppered the car. Silly that you have to pay $200 to have my car readied for delivery. I won't return for that reason alone. read more

I've worked with Willis since 2008. They helped me with lots of repairs on my 2007 Dodge Charger. They've now bought Chevrolet in Granger, which is 13 mins from me so I was more then excited. I'm now taking my 2016 Chevy Trax to them for all my repairs. I see Adam in Granger. He's been amazing these past couple of years. I've had a lot problems since buying the vehicle from Honda of Ames and Adam has been with my every step of the way. He gives you good, better, and best options. This was my first time buying a car on my own, and I was just looking at their pre owned vehicles. Everyone was very friendly and Paul Hill was very helpful. I ended up getting something from their guest service fleet and I feel like I got a great deal on a good car. The entire process was quick and easy and even though I wasn't buying one of their new high end cars, they still treated me with excellent service. I also like that they offer warranties that only added about $25 to my monthly payment which I think is worth it since I bought a used car that otherwise would not have come with any kind of warranty. I don't have any experience with their repair services but I would definitely recommend Willis for purchasing a vehicle. read more

The staff at Willis Auto Campus is friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate. We recently bought a 2015 QX60 and they took the time to answer all my questions about the vehicle itself, the CarFax, and financing without being stressed or rushed. The CarFax had some unusual notes and between our Saleman and general managers they were able to discover the history of the vehicle and clear up any confusion this caused. Upon buying the car they did not push for any extras when I said "no thanks" and the gentleman who walked me through the bells and whistles was super nice and patient. Again, no stress or rush. My wife and I traded for a new Volvo. There was never any pressure. There was clear intent among the sales staff to insure that all our questions were answered. Any part of the dealership we saw was immaculately clean with very nice amenities. Trade price difference was about what I expected, and was acceptable. Document fees were about standard for the industry. They went out of state to find a car with the color and equipment we wanted. The delivery and car orientation experience was thorough, and the entire transaction was very pleasant. We haven't needed any service yet, but they avow that they will pick up and deliver the car or supply a loaner when it does --- and they know we live 90 miles from the dealership. read more

The sales person I worked with nice and not pushy on what kind of car and financing solution I should go with, he just laid out the facts and allowed me to make the decision comfortably. They had to get the car I wanted from another dealership in Chicago and the process was seamless and easy for me. My Infiniti is a great car and I have only had to come in for regular maintenance, which has been a great experience. They will deliver your car to you at work after the oil change is done! They greeted my by name when I pulled in to their very clean service receiving garage. They already had the service ticket prepared. They were clear on how long the repair would take and arranged for one of their drivers to take me home. While I waited in their very nice waiting area with free coffee and snacks I took the few minutes before the drive came to read the newspaper. The driver was very courteous and in just a few short minutes was back home. Later, they delivered the car to my home. It can't get any easier than that. read more

Started the process of buying a pre-owned certified car April 2018. Checked in with Willis, met Austin Park. Extremely polite, helpful. We exchanged texts, cell calls of and on for the entire year. On May 2019, Austin found me the perfect Volvo! He remembered I lived on a farm, gravel road and could benefit from a light exterior color. I do not live in Clive, we are senior citizens and were concerned about driving my unfamiliar purchase home. Austin went to work again, he provided a courtesy delivery! Terrible service. Insanely overpriced repairs quoted to me for the simplest problems. Paperwork was late and my technician didn't have time to finish the billing until a number of weeks AFTER I picked up my Land Rover. I was charged over $160 just to have the problems diagnosed. I didn't have any of the repairs done. It took them two days to quote me on what repairs were needed. I had the same issues diagnosed FOR FREE at a Drake Garage on 42nd Street in Des Moines and the repairs they did were a fraction of what Wills would have charged me. Condescending staff left an awful taste in my mouth. I learned an expensive lesson- STEER CLEAR of Willis Auto Campus. read more

I took my car to Willis to get a new key fob and was in need of new brake pads, I had an appointment set up back in Cedar Rapids. The service writer was great, he came out and asked if he could meet or bet the quote I had would I allow them to do. He came back with a great price and I went ahead and let them do it, they gave me a nice loaner. I was informed that the next time I needed service on my Range Rover they can pick it up, I stated I live in Cedar Rapids,money said no problem we will pick up a car anywhere in Iowa. Tim P. I had a Great Experience again taking my XTS in for service. Sean Gilbert had a loaner car waiting, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They noticed I had a seat belt problem on the passenger side that required an ordered part. Willis let me keep the loaner car until the part came in. I got my car back two days later with the seat belt fixed, oil changed and serviced, alignment checked, washed inside and out, all for $16. Are you kidding me, most shops have a minimum shop charge of $40. for shop towels. Let alone everything else they did to the car, why would not drive a Willis Vehicle? read more
