Our family stayed this past weekend and we had a great time. Our site was very large and just perfect for our r-Pod trailer. Our granddaughters had fun too! The pool is clean and has a full-time life guard on duty. We have camped here since the 70's and always enjoyed. Hidden Valley Camping Area - Campgrounds Near Me - Jamestown, New York

This place is definitely geared toward the seasonal renters; most of which are at retirement age and without children. We came with another family and were placed in the front open lot that was convenient to the few activities available this weekend. When I say open, it was just a large open field with nothing to offer privacy from the camper next to you. For the kids there's a pool, combined tennis/basketball area, playground and the option to rent peddle bikes ($5 for 30 min). They had a cool retro band Saturday night. There was talk about a hay ride but they weren't running them when we were there. This place was acceptable for a couple night's visit but we won't be returning. read more

This is mostly a seasonal camp ground, but has plenty RV sites and a few for tents, and is well-maintained and surrounded with lovely views. We were given detailed area maps (park map, Jamestown map) with a few amenities highlighted. Bill lead us to our site (water, electrics, gray water), and pointed out a few hiking paths and the lovely creek and bridge. We were on the way home from Alaska but loved this place, and ended up staying an extra night, and enjoyed the playground/pool. Irrelevant criticism: no wine for sale here, but there's a good bottle shop down the mall from Tops (Willow Creek, an Erie wine, yum!). We enjoyed our wine and respite. read more

Unimaginably rude and unprofessional. I can't warn people enough about Mickey and the staff at this campground! They were nasty to everyone my family and I saw them come in contact with. Our family picks a campground for our annual reunion (100+ people) each year. It has always been nice....but we will certainly not forget this one. TERRIBLE. One of our oldest aunt's was trying to put her daughter's belongings into her cabin and they accused her of "trying to pull a fast one" on them because it was her daughter's cabin. This woman is in her 70s! She was the one who paid for the cabin! Then they threatened to cancel our entire reunion because someone had an extra tent on their site. Seriously? Why not just ask nicely to take it down? There were several other scenarios that occurred in our two night stay there. We weren't treated respectfully at all. When we said we were never coming back, their reply was "we'll your not welcome back anyway." Unbelievable. PLEASE consider a different campground when you want to vacation. You'll waste your money and be treated terribly. :( read more

My girlfriend and her family had been going there since the 70's. Our family has now been going there for years too. The old owners were wonderful. The new ones are horrible. We recently booked a weekend and saw they we're having a golf cart parade. Our son has autism and to him his cart is a big thing. We worked al week planning decorations and when we got there we were told he couldn't use it because of insurance. We argued that it should have been indicated on their site that they required specific insurance for them. They simply said "we should have known". They we're steadfast that we couldn't use it so we didn't stay. I did end up insuring it and found out since it was through our auto policy, it wouldn't have covered our son anyway. But also it was covered by our homeowners. If they were so uppity about it, they "should have known" this. By the way, noticing all the kids driving carts around the campground, I guess enforcement is selective. I called a number of other places and they were shocked about the insurance issue. We ended up going to Pope Haven a couple miles away. The owner was super nice and waited up for us while we trekked over there. When we told him our experience, he just shook his head. I guess we we're the only ones who didn't know about them going down hill. We were super happy at Pope Haven and despite a rough start had a great weekend. As it turned out we would have indeed been disappointed staying there. We were looking forward to meeting up with our friends who (had) a site there. In speaking with them they also were not happy there so they left. They had a permanent site and sold it. What was disturbing was that they sold it at the beginning of the season, but they we're still charged for the full season. On top of that they had to pay a huge transfer fee. But the worst part was that the new owner was also charged a for a full season. Nothing like double dipping! That's disgusting. Hidden Valley was always a mediocre campground. But the owners were nice and always accommodating. Also, the price was good so it was always a decent go to place when you wanted an easy weekend away from home. Now the price has gone up and the management is terrible, yet the place is still the same. We've camped there for decades and booked group events there and we regularly went there often. Not any more! There are too many other places that are better, less expensive, and are a whole lot nicer. They've lost yet another set of campers. read more

For the past 3 years we have been bringing our camper and our family to this campground. Driving into the campground, you can tell you will be staying tucked away in a little piece of nature. The sites we've stayed in have all had plenty of shade and sun and close access to the bathrooms and showers (there are multiple locations of these). Just because you are camping doesn't mean you can't feel like you are on a really awesome vacation!! The bathrooms are updated and super clean. The camp store has everything you need to make your stay more enjoyable! The pool is where my kids loved to be. Super clean and huge. A lifeguard is there all weekend, which is a huge bonus for me, even with my kids being strong swimmers. My kids aged 10 and 9 LOVED the new playground and tennis court/basketball area. My kids made a ton of new friends and I've honestly never met more friendly campers. The owners couldn't be more helpful. We unfortunately had a leak with our toilet, one of our stays and found water on the floor when we came back from the pool. The owner- whose knowledge about campers was immense and was more than eager to help us out- was able to problem solve a way for us to fix this quickly and cheaply to get us through the weekend until we could get the part we needed. They even offered to order the part for us if needed!! This really put my mind at ease because I was kind of freaking out about the water on the floor. I was so thankful for the knowledge they possessed! The activities for the kids (of all ages) will keep them busy for hours!! We've been there on weekends when they had a luau, Easter at the campground and even Christmas in July! They even had Santa and gifts for the kids!!!! Don't waste your money going to other campgrounds. Seriously, you can't find any place better than this! Staying in nature, you can be as busy or as laid back as you want to be at this awesome campground. We are counting the days until we can go back!!!!!! read more

They rent golf carts and peddle carts.dog park they have poopy bags and disposable can for your deposit from your pup.
