Not a great range on wine but reasonable. I enjoy their 'cheap bins'' it allows me to try new stuff in a way where I won't regret it and can have it aside for houseguests. I even got BIG ice cube trays here. The staff are great and they will work hard to help (at least at my store of the last 5 years) until you find something you like. Also they flatter me each time they ask for my ID. Sign up as a member, okay so the government may track your alcohol intake... ha, no negatives and sometimes you find something awesome with it. One thing I would suggest is a scrapping the flyers policy. So many flyers every week. Just print up the specials and place them around the store and onliine And stop handing out flyers for specials. As far as I can tell they have the biggest selection of wines and probably spirits also! The first time I walked into the store I wandered around with a mate for well over an hour, astounded at how many beverages there were that we hadn't consumed in vast quantities! Still to this day there are still more than I can count, and I try so very, very hard! Anyways, I'll make it simple. Everything is organised really well in its sections, there's a fantastic walk in fridge which is so worth the visit on a scorching summer's day. You can buy practically everything off the shelf AND out the fridge already chilled for your imediate pleasure. They always have a lot of great gift packs you can find which make really good presents too. And surprisingly when I was there last it was actually cheaper to buy a cowboy gift pack than to buy the two bottles you needed separately AND you got 2 free shot glasses with it. Every weekend (not sure about during the week) they have sampler time with taste testing of many great wine varieties. They also have trolleys that actually fit what you need to buy. No bags here but always plenty of boxes to package your purchases up in to take home. Although they are a part of the shopping centre this is a stand alone store away from the main entrances to the shopping centre itself so there is always plenty of parking closeby and a pedestrian crossing right in front of the store. For range and great low prices this is definitely the liquor store to visit.

They run tasting events from Thursday to Sunday (which I'm going to have to schedule in). They also have a fortnightly rotating tap for filling your growler. Yep, that's right you can get your growler sterilised and filled to the brim of a beer you won't normally be able to get by the bottle. You heard me! A range of boutique, small batch SA wine makers and some interesting bottles from overseas are also available. They also have my favourite KIS Gin in stock. All in all this is the melting pot for high end, premium and rare alcoholic finds.

Boasting an excellent array of wines, beers, ciders and a decent spirit selection, Goodwood cellars has the who's-who of wine in South Australia with the heavy hitters and small wineries and brewers on feature. I'm more of a wine drinker myself so my knowledge of the beer selection and ability to comment on it is somewhat redundant (but other reviewers rave, so go read there opinions!). Small wineries that had previously given me the impression of only having a cellar door for sales are prone to appearing for a limited run in store, but I enjoy this as it lets me vary up my local wine knowledge. Prices are very reasonable with monthly specials in all the major categories letting you explore the finer side of the palate without breaking the budget and favourites staying at a consistent price. The best part of this bottle shop has to be the service. The team here definitely know what they're talking about and are always willing to help. Looking for something for yourself? Tell them your preferences and they'll hunt it down (white, crisp, riesling, not sweet, about $20). Looking for a present? They'll find something to suit and impress and will keep your budget in mind (without making you feel like a cheapskate!). And if you have something specific in mind, they'll take you straight to it, saving you from wandering direction-less in those overly large bottle stores popular of late. Only down side is that the spirit section isn't overly large, so don't do what I've done before and drop into pick up Dad's favourite only to find it out of stock on Fathers' Day. That would be an ill-considered move. Oh and its an independent! So feel good about not fueling the coorporate greed whilst downing a hearty red. Nice.

The guys will point you to an amazing one no one has ever heard of. Need a birthday present for your Grandad and don't know whats a fancy liquier an old man likes? These guys will even tailor it to your price range. Cant carry the slab of beer you want for the BBQ with your lady arms? The boys will take the slab to your car and whack in your boot. The store also has a great range of eclectic beers and ciders and has a strong local vibe with many South Australian drinks on offer. The wine selection is excellent and has a varying range stocking the cheap to the expensive with all the South Australian regions on show. The staff in here are also happy to do special orders and will help you out with big events or get special products in just for you if you ask nicely.

I'll start this review by stating that I prefer to buy from shops that aren't owned by big-business…read more(evil) supermarkets ... but sometimes when you're in the suburbs you just have to go with what is close by ;) Right, now that's out of the way, this BWS is a lovely little shopping complex on Seacombe Road, which has some wonderful little offerings (another reason I visit this bottle shop). The staff are very friendly, and there is a large selection for such a small shop. I'm usually buying either wine or cider - the range of wine is extensive (as a lot of South Australian bottle shops provide these days), and there are usually great specials that encourage you to spend a bit more in order to save money in the long run (well, that's what I tell myself when I walk out with 3 bottles of white rather than the intended 1!). The cider choices aren't as extensive, offering just the basics in 4 packs, or large bottles (though I did spy a 1.5L magnum of pear cider, which is quite bizarre!). All in all, a good bottle shop, made just that bit better by their location, ease of carparking and friendly service.

What does this mean for the customer in need of a refreshing brew or last minute gift? Well it means you're talking to people that know what they're talking about. Stocked with plenty of locally grown and produced wines they have fought to not fall into the trap of many other suppliers. The gents at this place will talk your ear off for half an hour determined to make sure you leave with the right drop. They also have all the regular beverage buys. I think everyone knows what to expect in a bottleshop. The main difference being if you want be served by Alex the kid who finished his year 12 certificate 2 months earlier or some grey haired silverbacks who've been trying the wares that they peddle since before gin was a popular tipple.
