Our yard is probably one of the most challenging yards you could imagine, set on a steep slope with a septic mound taking up the majority of the backyard which makes it difficult to do much with the space. We had recently purchased a new construction property and the seller (Justin Smith, The Homescout, LLC) bailed on the outdoor work before it was completed leaving us with a poorly built, unpermitted retaining wall and considerable grading and drainage issues. Littleton Earthworks came to the rescue and helped us mitigate many of the issues with creativity and thoughtfulness that we didn't see from the any of the other companies we spoke with. Dan from Earthworks proposed some great solutions and seemed to enjoy thinking through how to solve the problems at hand. The end result was so much better than we could have imagined and the regrading gave us a significant addition of usable space in the backyard. And, when we had a tropical storm come through the day after work was completed Dan came back with his crew to reseed and install an erosion control blanket for a nominal price, really going above and beyond. Everyone on the Earthworks team was great to work with and super nice, we couldn't have been happier with the service and the results. I would not hesitate to recommend Dan and his wonderful team!

They came out to take a look around while I was at work and emailed me an estimate for the job, no scheduling or effort needed on my part, which was great. I called a little late in the season, but they were able to get me on the schedule with no problem. Their standard fall cleanup comes in two phases: once part-way through leaf season and again around Thanksgiving once the leaves have fallen. Their team did a great job both times (and my house has a *ton* of leaves, we are practically surrounded by oak trees). They removed all the leaves, raked up acorns, and left the yard looking great. Ultimately, the job we agreed to with contract was not done to completion, in spite of the assistant's insistence that it was. The owner was not on the job EITHER day and this is important. While the crew came back to attempt to complete the original job ( we appreciated that!), the owner was not there. The result was that the job is currently STILL not what we agreed upon. The owner is not willing to return to finish it. Caveat emptor...just know that if the job is not done according to agreement, you will have trouble reaching the owner and it will not be made right. We really wanted to have a great experience!

Finding that all in one company is nearly impossible -- but I found it with Jose and J. Gudiel Landscape. Jose came out to see my house and discuss what I wanted. I was away when they first came to work but when I got home, even in the dark, I could tell they had been at the house and did a great job weeding, trimming trees and mowing. I am very happy with the quality of their work and attention to detail. I then asked Jose to help clean up an overgrown section of the property to prepare it for a playground. Jose made some suggestions and was able to start right away. His team worked long days in the heat and everyone was very nice. He uses vague language as to what exactly the scope of his work will cover. I tried multiple times, but failed to get him to spell out whether his price included what I had asked him to do. He throws in a "base price" at you for "what HE wants to do" but not what YOU asked him to do; then he wants to charge you extra for this and extra for that. Don't waste your time. Tree service companies are dime a dozen and there's no need to deal with unethical people.

Shannon came out to give us a quote which she did immediately and she followed that up with the contract and a schematic of the work to be done (which I loved!). Shannon suggested a material for the base that we hadn't considered before and I'm happy she did because it's a much cleaner look than what we were planning on. They both went out of their way to ensure we were happy with the work completed and, when we had a question about something after the fact, they were literally out there the next day.
