The customer service wasn't the best and the woman who assisted me wasn't too friendly but I didn't let that bother me. I was very specific when I asked for pesticide-free milkweeds. The woman said it has no pesticides. I should've known better to check for insects in the plants, but I had an urgency of bringing milkweed to my hungry Caterpillars and the lady at the other nursery I buy was closed that day. Four caterpillars that immediately started eating on this plant, ended up dead in two day after I brought it home - all 4 died the same way and at same time. I don't recommend this place because of their lack of honesty. The 2 stars are because they do have a good selection of many plants and maybe it's the right place for someone who doesn't mind pesticides in their plants. read more

I stopped into Discount Palms and Plants as a recommendation from family. Right away I was greeted by Colleen that listened to the area I wanted to transform in front of my condo. She took me around and showed me difference options. I didn't want to spend a lot and the prices were amazing compared to big box stores. I ended up buying the plant that I thought I needed including a beautiful spinal palm. We loaded all of it into my Prius and with her suggestions I came home to plant and had to return to buy a few more plants. My neighbors are a little jealous and have made changes too. read more

I had an such a positive experience with this nursery. In the process of a complete renovation of the front and backyard of our beach cottage, Colleen spent many hours helping me choose flowers, plants and trees that you just don't see in other nurseries -- and I visited many others during my research phase. She is extremely knowledgeable about plant needs, growth rates, etc. When the time came to install the sod and larger palms, Stephanie (the owner) was flawless in execution. She ran the crew efficiently and all their work was completed on time and with excellent results. She also provided me with great ideas about softening edges of the design and made certain that the irrigation contractor had proper coverage for the grass and garden beds. When deciding what type of grass to plant, Stephanie took the time to bring me to another residential project they had completed and then showed me the "before" pictures for comparison. But what made this a really great experience was the level of communication we received. All of my phone calls (a million) were answered promptly. Lots of texts and photos helped me decide what to plant and how to incorporate each into my design. I highly recommend this company whether you are searching for that one perfect tropical plant or tree or are engaged in larger projects or renovations. In fact, I recently referred a developer friend of mine to have this company bid commercial projects.
