    Green pool

Would give it no stars if I could. Took three tries when checking in after a three and a half hour drive from Boson to get a clean room that did not smell like an ashtray. Finally got one. Pool was green for the duration...in June no less. A festival in North Adams that weekend caused them to jack rates from $109 to $249. TV barely functioned. Young kids running around the parking lot screaming late at night more than one night in a row. Owners let me check out one night early and because there were no other rooms anywhere during the week because of the festival I had no option but to stay there. Don't waste your money. Wyndham and Howard Johnson should be ashamed to have their names attached to this sub par "motel".

Dark, disgusting mold at the Ho Bo, formally the Ho Jo.

I should have checked Yelp before staying here. First, I spent $100 for a night at a motel -- at a motel! -- during a weekday stay when school was out for the summer. It was the most I've spent at ANY Wyndham place during my two-week trip and was also by far the worst. I'll be uploading photos of my disgusting room. The shower curtain is loaded with mold, the door had hand stains on it from previous visitors, the bed had someone else's hair in the sheets, and -- worst of all -- the bed, semi sealed with a zip cover (often used to control bed bugs) was broken and cut my knee with the spring bulging out. In addition, the breakfast was mediocre and offered the worst selection of any place I stayed during my research trip. I would not visit this place again if it were free, let alone shell out over $100/night. Are you reading Yelp and asking yourself whether you should stay here? Don't! Don't! RUN! Worst place I've ever stayed. Period.

The mouse as described..too much for me no matter how cheap it is

Stayed here a few times when I was in the area for work..fairly inexpensive and not all together filthy but id advise you to not stay here unless you like mice..2 different rooms on opposite ends of hotel and both had mice in them..I will never stay here again!

DO NOT stay here. Just don't. The floor was dirty. The outlets didn't work to charge anything. I had to unplug the tv and use that one. The bathroom was dirty and there was a stain similar to blood on the wall. The manager was unforgiving on this. The office was locked at 3pm when we came to check in. I finally had to call to get someone. At checkout, manager wasn't there again and I called and rang the doorbell for over 10 minutes. If you have ANY other choice, please take it. Do not stay here.

Basic. Clean. Had to switch rooms b/c cable wasn't working. For the price $125 on a Expedia special, it was adequate.

The free channels TV doesn't connect well but it's there. There is WiFi too. There is a central bright light or at least in my room to make it inviting to read. I really like that. The switch was a bit tricky to find for it as I thought it would've been an outside light but it is a good thing I tried all the switches. It feels like which the slight juxtaposition of the light switch for the center of the room, they had read a prior review that said the room felt a bit too dark. While a typical motel and even hotels might not consider being accommodating to this aspect, this motel wants to stay at the top quality and rank wise and they really get it. Because of the area they are in and the competition with Maple Terrace, they want to stay competitive but they really seem to enjoy managing a motel here too. The staffer was telling me how this motel is #1 in the area and bragged about the breakfast. Maple Terrace seems very comparable with here but I get the sense they offer more food here. Seems like you can't go wrong by with either is my impression. If you've never been here before, you should start here for the fresh fruit offered if nothing else. The pool here is out of commission at the time of this review. I don't know where it is and I asked. I think the guy was trying to tell me it was being cleaned or needed a lot of work. This continental breakfast is one of the best in the area. I definitely ended on this place because it is still reasonably priced by today's standards and you get a lot for your money. You can tell a lot of care was put into everything and you aren't just another number. I wanted to take one of every fruit because it would guarantee I would eat healthy for a bit more but so felt embarrassed even though I probably could. The night before, they let me have two bottles of water and a sugar free apple juice and then gave me two more water bottles. With the weather and traveling, I would not turn down free water.

Lesa welcomed us when we arrived after dinner and made us feel at home with homemade baked goods and wine. Our rooms were lovely, and although the manor is two hundred years old, it has all the amenities one would expect in modern accommodations. The beds are extremely comfortable as well. Breakfast was a treat, a feast of local yogurt, homemade scones, tea cake, frittata, fruit, and ham. Lesa is the perfect host--warm, welcoming, accommodating, talented in the kitchen, and genuinely concerned with providing her guests with a wonderful getaway. Staying in her lovely home feels like visiting a friend. We will return whenever we are in the area. The Blackinton is a gem!!

If I believed any place I was reviewing was terrible I would never say it was awesome, so just because I know the innkeeper doesn't mean I'm sugarcoating my experience. I wanted to share that I think the Blackinton Manor is a lovely place to stay in the Berkshires. The hostess really cares about her guests' full experience. She strives to use locally sourced products whenever she can. She wants everyone to feel like they are comfortable and at home in her home, and I definitely felt comfortable here. And she makes yummy and hearty breakfasts. If you're lucky enough to be served the sticky buns, you're in for a real treat. Stay here. You won't regret it. Things to note: She does have a dog, who while friendly and gentle, is still a dog and will be at the Manor while you're there. So if you're not a dog person, this might not be the place for you. Also, if you have food allergies or restrictions, be sure to disclose them. She'll ask when you arrive but it's nice to let her know in advance so she can prepare for your stay and make your meal as yummy and accommodating as possible.
