    Makeup for engagement shoot!
    Amanda G.

I have been lucky enough to have had Lisa do my makeup twice in the past 6 months, and both times she has done an amazing job!! The first time was at my brothers wedding, and Lisa was doing the makeup for the bride and all the bridesmaids. I always get nervous to have my makeup done because I don't usually wear a lot and I feel like I look like a completely different person when I have a lot on. I told Lisa this before she started, and she definitely listened to my concerns. She did my eye makeup very light, she didn't cake on the face makeup, and she made it look so natural and glamorous. I didn't want to ever take it off! I felt so beautiful for my brothers big day thanks to her! Fast forward a few months, and my sister in law tags me in a post on Facebook from Lisa. She was looking for a couple to do an engagement shoot where makeup and hair were provided. Lucky for me, my boyfriend and I got engaged literally 2 weeks before! I messaged Lisa right away and she responded instantly! I was so excited she was going to be doing my makeup for my engagement pictures. Just like before (and like any time I get my makeup done) I was nervous it would be too dark or too much. Yet again, Lisa listened and made me feel like the most beautiful bride to be! She used similar colors to last time and made it so natural-looking which was exactly what I wanted! She takes her time, listens to what you want, and is so cute and easy to talk to! I am definitely going to contact her about doing makeup for my wedding once we set the date and find the venue!! Thank you Lisa!!

Ok this post is better late than never!! Lisa is AMAZING!!!!!! She made me and my bridesmaids look and feel so beautiful!! I first met Lisa at a bridal convention in Anaheim. I normally do not wear much makeup other than eyeliner, so I was looking for a makeup artist who can do natural yet stunning make up. I saw Lisa's booth and the pictures she had on her desk. The girls in her picture had the natural yet gorgeous look that I was going for. Right away I knew I had to book her! I had my trial session with her and her friend, Vanessa, who did my hair... WHAT A POWER DUO!!!! They made such a great team! They were sooooooo easy to work with and I couldn't be happier with the services they provided!! I strongly recommend Lisa for make up, you will not have any regrets. Lisa, thank you for making me feel so beautiful on the most important day of my life!! You are the best!!!!!

Lisa is IT. Seriously, if you want to look amazing and feel beautiful, you have to have Lisa! I hired Lisa for my wedding in August and definitely had concerns because my face is super greasy and I have heavy eyelids that tend to make my eye makeup go everywhere! All of my bridesmaids wanted very different looks as well and Lisa came through with flying colors. Not only is she an amazing artist, she is also such a sweet person. She was so easy to work with and I would definitely recommend her to anyone I know.

Lisa and her team of talented artists are life savers! After having to break contract with the initial makeup artist that I hired due to lack of communication, I reached out to Lisa roughly 6 weeks before my wedding. She sent me the most amazing hair & makeup girls who did a trial in my home. I was sold on the look and hired them for my big day. They worked so quickly and efficiently that they were able to do full hair & makeup on me (bride), 4 bridesmaids, and 3 moms in less time than we had budgeted for! We ended up having time to pretty the flower girls also :) I looked exactly how I pictured myself on my big day, makeup stayed on all day, night, and didn't look bad the next morning either (LOL). My braided updo looked incredible and was so comfortable to wear in the summer heat. I highly recommend Lisa and her artists to take care of any hair & makeup needs!

I cannot day enough positive things about Lisa and her ability to do makeup. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Lisa prior to attending the Oscars. I did not even have to explain to Lisa what I needed. She looked at my face, looked at my dress and worked her magic. She worked in a very cluttered space, with questionable lighting (thank god she had her own lighting) and under great time constraints. Despite all that, her work was flawless. I would and will use her again, and highly suggest that you consider using her for any makeup needs you may have!

Where do I even begin?! Lisa did mine and my bridesmaids makeup on my wedding day and I don't think I could have made a better decision. First of all she is so patient and listens to her clients and what their usual makeup style is like, and uses amazing products as well. I truly felt like my wedding day makeup look was so "me" and exactly how I pictured it to come out like. She was so sweet to my mom and mother in law too and helped them pick their makeup looks they wanted for the day. I also felt my makeup stayed on the whole day/night through the windy and cold dinner reception I would recommend Lisa to any bride-to-be for their wedding festivities or future life events to come! She is truly a makeup professional and am so excited she will be doing the makeup for my cousin's wedding next year also

Lisa is seriously the BEST!! She is so talented, easy-going, and accommodating! She did the make-up for my wedding back in September 2017 (me, the bridesmaids, and the mom's). We did a trial run about a month before, and she was able to perfectly replicate a picture I found and add some really helpful suggestions. She made me feel totally comfortable during the trial run and on the big day! It was so nice having one less thing to stress about on my wedding day (Thanks Lisa!!). I would highly recommend her for any make-up needs you may have!

This was one of many very happy brides-to-be we teamed up on. Make up by Makeup Artist 411

I've had the pleasure of teaming up with Lisa on several events from weddings to creative projects and she never ceases to amaze me! There are soooo many talented artist out there doing their thing but I have to say that Lisa has a style that truly sets her apart from the rest. In a world of makeup repetition so to speak, she keeps it ever evolving and her ability to tailor every client's special features rather than create the same carbon copy look, is what I love most about her work.

From the moment I met Lisa I knew I had met a makeup artist who I would be working with again! Lisa is so great at what she does, and not only that she is calm, cool and collected and takes her time with her craft. Everything from the product quality to the execution of her work is precise and on point! She is a so sweet and easy to work with and will leave you feeling at ease when using her for your makeup needs! From weddings, to Halloween makeup to glam for a night out on the town...this girl should be your go to!

Lisa did mine and my bridesmaids makeup!

The instructors have absolutely no clue what they're doing, the students are so rude here. No one knows what they're doing, I've had so many problems with my instructor. She never corrects her students, she does not know how to teach a class. Turning on a show and not telling us half the things we need to know is NOT teaching. The staff for the CCP program do not respond to your emails or problems unless they feel like it. This is one of the worst places I've ever been to. It's a waste of gas and your time. Our instructors expect us to leave high school early some days and miss our classes for us to come here and sit around and hardly do anything all day. The classes are terrible, nothing that they tell you about the school is true. They do not take care of any problems whatsoever, it's drama city and a headache. The instructors put you on the spot, they do not follow state board instructions. They lie about a lot of things, the students lie about what we've learned and what we haven't learned. This is such a headache of a school. Some days the instructor tries to rearrange class to be from 9-3:30 and i for one have school and i feel like high school is a little more important than a drama filled class. This is such a terrible school.

Other people came and when it was time they were all seen. I was still waiting. A student finally saw me waiting and then went to the instructor and finally, she addressed me. The instructor then said I don't know if I could help you because I can't see your hair; I have to see what I'm looking at. I was wearing a hijab so I said yeah, I know I wear a hijab because I always wear a hijab.I took off my hijab so she could see my hair. Then all she had was insults. First, she said that my hair was boxed dye. I told her I do not use box dye. I normally go to a different beauty college to get my hair done and they do not use boxed dye. She then said that she has been doing this for 25 years and she knows box dye on hair looks like and the school you went to used box dye. I called the school that I went to right then and there I asked them what they used and when they used and when the did my hair. They told me they used Redkin and they dyed my hair in February (8 months ago). Then the instructor went on the condition of my hair. She said that my hair is so damaged. I kept telling her that my hair is not damaged. My hair is naturally like this. I was born this way and she kept insisting that my hair was damaged. She said all she could do to my hair was to chop it off and to wash it. I called grand strand hair design and they they saw me and right away. They looked at my hair and they said my hair was healthy, and what normal healthy mixed hair looks like. See when you have mixed hair your hair that is thicker, dry looking, and it's nappy when you brush it. Then when you do brush it it's fluffy and soft. That's what happens when you have mixed hair. So I believe that this instructor at HGTC has been doing hair for 25 years was profiling me because of the lack of pigmentation in my skin. She probably didn't realize that I'm an albino. My grandfather is black. My hair has always been like this. And I kept telling her my hair wasn't damaged but she wouldn't listen. Or maybe she really doesn't know what mixed hair is. If you have mixed hair, go to grand strand design, at least they will take care of you and they won't make you feel like you have disgusting and gross hair.

I was a bit wary because I've had a couple bad experiences with trusting a student with my hair, but the Paul Mitchell beauty school was amazing. I had Erica do my hair, and since it was so long she had some help with the coloring and drying process from Kathy. Kessie supervised and showed how to do a dry cut on my hair and bangs, which were finished up by Ebony. I spent about 5 hours there and $75 but got exactly what I asked for. I got the dead ends trimmed, and now my hair color is an even all over brown. Erica was very professional and had a very relatable fun personality, all the girls that helped were also great. Next time I need my hair done I'll go back and be asking for Erica again. The only downside was the price, which I felt like wasn't communicated to me as clearly as it should have been, but for everything that was done to my hair I feel like it was probably the same as what any other salon would have charged me.
