Do not go to this clinic. They take forever on attending patients and take advantage of good insurance.

I cannot recommend Dr. Marc and Dr. Joe at the Stem Cell Institute highly enough…read more After suffering an MCL injury, I was weighing several options, including surgery and wearing a CTI brace. Rather than rushing me toward an invasive procedure, they took the time to truly listen to my goals. As someone who wanted to get back to an active lifestyle and back on the ocean as safely as possible, they carefully explained every detail of my ultrasound scans, the specific damage to my knee, and all of the available treatment options. I never felt pressured. I felt educated. Together we decided on regenerative treatment, giving my body the opportunity to heal itself. Six weeks later, I'm back on the ocean riding my board--something I wasn't sure would be possible so quickly. What impressed me most was their honesty. At my follow-up, they told me I was healing so well that I didn't even need another treatment. That level of integrity is rare. It showed me that their priority is the patient's outcome, not selling additional procedures. I appreciate the time they spent with me, the patience they showed answering my questions, and the genuine care they demonstrated throughout the entire process. They were recommended to me by a friend who had an outstanding experience, and I'm grateful for that referral. Now I'm happy to pay it forward. If you're facing orthopedic surgery or considering your options for a ligament or joint injury, I strongly encourage you to consult with Dr. Marc and Dr. Joe before making a final decision. It may not be the right solution for everyone, but in my case it helped me avoid surgery, get back to doing what I love, and let my body heal naturally. I couldn't be more thankful.

Your suggestion that I spend 3500. for each injection of stem cells (called jelly by you) would be ridiculous and only serving to enrich your bank account. Unfortunately you were not honest and I find you repulsive. STEM CELLS CANNOT REGROW CARTILAGE. When the cartilage disappears, then bone starts to take it's place - hence where you get the term "bone on bone." I would have been a better and more honest doctor than you anyday.

I am a knowledgeable medical consumer, and I was impressed by both his long experience and manner. However, my shoulder replacement is one of his failures and I am left with 30% use of my arm. Even Dr. I said "I am sorry you were part of my learning curve." I WENT TO HIM BECAUSE OF HIS EXPERIENCE! It turns out he didn't realize the prosthesis was too large, which he only discovered during surgery number 2 to correct what he thought was a tendon rubbing against the implant. By then it was too late. I recovered from that surgery only to find that I still have poor ROM and constant pain. What still bothers me is how he could not know the implant was too large. Weren't he and his team supposed to plan out the surgery using information from the CAT scan to avoid such an occurrence? It took 11 months of repeated agonizing weeks during which I could not drive, care for myself, or even cut my own food before he decided to operate again. That was 7 months ago and I know now I will forever be in pain and have limited motion as a result of the shoulder replacement. I only discovered this when I finally sought another surgeon's input and upon viewing my x-rays, he was able to explain why I continue to have pain and poor use of my arm. Oh, and I also have tingling in my fingers since surgery #1. I can barely type. And I'm a writer. As horrible as my surgical experience was, getting though to him or to his people and going for appointments was even worse. I'd wait days for a call back, which often was simply ignored. If he hadn't given me his cell phone number I never would have gotten through. I only texted him when I was in agony and he responded "your nerves are on fire." That was November. I had the second surgery in March. So you can see how slowly things progressed. Sure he's affable. And you can't argue with his resume. But I am not one of his wins. For the rest of my life, I will be crippled due to his failure.

I told her that CA legislation specifically denotes that healthcare providers may not charge fees for filling out forms or providing information in regards to applying for public benefit programs, which includes disability. She acted like I was stupid and kept repeating, "We're a private clinic, so we can." I asked her to clarify what the difference was whether they were private or not, because the legislation does not make any differentiation as to whether or not it applies to private clinics. It says healthcare providers, full stop. She literally just repeated the same sentence to everything I asked in a derisive voice, which doesn't answer my question whatsoever. I'm attaching screenshots of the govt. website that denotes the specific article I'm referencing. Without this information, I'd be unable to apply for disability so I was forced into paying for it, but it was really a disgusting interaction with an employee who clearly doesn't know enough to explain why they're charging when the law specifically states they should not. If there is somehow a loophole that allows them to, then the staff should be well informed and willing to explain why this is something they're able to do. If they don't know, they should be asking someone who does. Regardless, the way this looks to me is they don't even know the exact legislature and are just ripping people off for information they're legally entitled to - for free - in order to apply for public services. Had she at least been pleasant, I don't think I'd be as upset. But repeating the same sentence as if I'm an idiot doesn't answer my questions, and I heard you the first time. I'll be looking into legal counsel to verify whether or not they truly are legally allowed to charge people just because they're a "private clinic," since their uneducated and rude employees clearly cannot explain why.

Kristina and Vanessa sent forms and prepared ahead of time. The extra 2nd star is for the office staff. I filled out probably 7-8 detailed forms and had to wait 1.5 months to see Dr. Schechter. The day before my appointment I was notified for MBS (mind body syndrome) / TMS patients there's an extra $130 or 150 (I forget exactly the price) you have to pay out of pocket that's NOT covered by insurance. During the zoom appointment Dr. Schechter was 20 minutes late. He didn't review any of my files and just started reading them right there. Prior to our appointment I was really excited to finally get his diagnosis. I had sent a very organized 100 word summary of my conditions and what's I've tried so far.... and that wasn't read either. During our call, he cut me off several times and ask questions that I had been asked 100 times already by other practitioners, questions that easily would have been answered if he read my summary or any of his forms that his office had asked me to fill out. Towards the end of the call about 10 min prior to our 1 hour time, he was rushing to leave while I still had a lot of questions. Interesting considering he was 20 min late. I learned 0%. Nothing new. It was disappointing, being in pain for so long, hoping someone can help you. After this I sought other methods of help and the Mind body stuff really didn't resonate with me anymore. I still believe in Dr John Sarno's work. There are other mind body doctors that do well but they are out of state (CA). If you're reading this now, I wish you luck in your search. I'm using a pen name but I'm a real patient and this is an honest review. (see attached image) GL!
