I got a tennis elbow 4 weeks ago from playing badminton. If you are wondering how you can get a tennis elbow playing badminton, I got nothing to say to you. You can skip reading now. lol (just kidding) It's a discomfort of muscles and tendon a lot of tennis players and badminton players suffer from but someone chose the word tennis instead of badminton maybe because of it's popularity. I've had the pain since 4 weeks ago and I should've stopped playing badminton until I got better. But I made a mistake by playing again and the pain has gotten worse. I first went to see see Dr Yang April 2018. I found him on yelp. I thought him special. I'd hurt my lower back. I'm 74 and have some issues with lower back and sometimes it is bad. That April I could just barely move. I went to Kaiser urgent care. They said ibuprofen and Tylenol. Not so helpful. So I found Dr Yang. His treatments are extensive, a number of modalities. Two sessions in one week and I was fine. Two days ago I casually bent to pick up a paper plate. Once again, could barely move. Called Monday morning when he opened, went in. So I have a confession to make. This is the only place I trust with my neck and back... and I didn't even know the doctor's name until I came back to this Yelp page to leave this review. Oops. Goes to show that the doctor means business and isn't there to waste your or his time with small talk! I've been to my fair share of chiropractors and acupuncturists in LA and OC, but more so to spot treat whenever a flare-up strikes. 9 times out of 10, the practitioners I visit are just oOooKaYyYyyy and try pressuring you into a treatment plan. Not here though. I originally found the doctor (sorry forgot your name already) through Yelp to spot treat during yet another flare-up. You change into a gown so the doctor can warm up your muscles through the electrostimulation and massage beds (to be able to get deeeeep into your muscles and joints after). You're then relocated to a private room where the doctor listens to where you're hurting, and then he doubles down on those focal areas through his Graston Technique and adjustments. I've never done Graston Technique before here, and now I will follow this doctor if he ever relocates! If you've studied the Yelp pages of all the other chiropractors in the area (like I did) and maybe even went to several of the other chiropractors with subpar results (like I did) and are still on the fence, come here! You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. read more

Absolutely the best! I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder 4 months ago and I've received cortisone injections and physical therapy for the last 4 months and nothing helped. So I was told by Dr. Yang that shock therapy might work and I was very skeptical at first and didn't go but the pain and loss of mobility made me go. After the very first treatment I was able to move my arm behind my back up an extra 5 inches!!! 5 INCHES in mobility after my first treatment. TLDR: A good doctor has many tricks up their sleeve. Dr. Yang has a big sleeve. I suffered an avulsion fracture (occurs when a small chunk of bone attached to a tendon or ligament gets pulled away from the main part of the bone) and went to physical therapy (PT) in Sherman Oaks for 6 months (did plenty of exercises, massages, and hot/cold presses). While PT helped, I was still unable to perform movements (supination, pronation, and straighten out the arm) without restrictions and pain, especially trying to lift weights (i.e. bench press and biceps curls). Dr. Yang provided a variety of treatments on my elbow. This included laser therapy, Graston Technique, Kinesio taping, and most recently, Shockwave therapy. What I learned is that due to the fracture, I had a lot of scar tissue build-up, with injuries to my tendons, ligaments, and various muscle tissues that connect the elbow together. The laser therapy increased circulation and reduced inflammation. The Graston Technique helped breakdown the scar tissue and fascial restrictions, enabling movement and promoted healing. The taping provided support and relieved pain. Shockwave therapy has been amazing - this treatment can breakdown scar tissue that is not superficial. My residual pain was reduced by 80% after the first Shockwave treatment. I am writing this review because I believe a good doctor should know a variety of treatment methods. I have been to a few chiropractors, and Dr. Yang is different - he is serious about helping you feel better. read more

Doctor Yang is very nice and seems to really take his time in his treatment which is great. However, I can't recommend this office for cash paying patients. I understand the 1st visit evaluation and treatment always costs more than the follow-up visits, that's all chiropractors I've been to. But what discouraged me from returning was the "base" follow up treatments only include up to an adjustment instead of being the treatments that your body "needs" to get better, meaning if you want "treatment" at $75, it only treats you up to an adjustment. If you're like me with a disc issue who needs spinal or neck decompression, you would have to pay an additional $45 just to get decompression on top of the regular visit price of $75. So for a cash paying patient who has disc issues, you would have to pay $120 per regular visit to get PROPER treatment. In my honest opinion, something doesn't feel right here. From my experience, the chiropractors I've seen before have always recommended and advised the proper treatment for me based on my condition and pain. That became my "treatment" at the follow-up visit prices based on the evaluation, x-rays, MRI, etc.. the visit prices didn't go up or down. That included adjustments and decompression at the very least because that's what my spine needed. It involved whatever treatment the doctor felt I needed to get better until I didn't need that specific treatment anymore. If you're someone who has disc issues, decompression is literally one of the main treatments you NEED, it isn't a special or boosted treatment you choose or decide if you want to pay extra for that day. If you chose to just get adjustments at the $75 instead of adding the "BOOSTED" $45 decompression, you as a patient would never get better, adjustments don't even begin to touch the surface of underlying disc issues. Long story short, I paid $170 cash for the 1st visit evaluation and treatment that included adjustments, graston technique, and minimal decompression while I had severe spasms. I had to add all that on to the 1st visit price since I was in severe pain, instead of just receiving the proper treatment that the doctor felt I needed after a full evaluation and MRI report. I left with spasms that worsened from treatment and can barely walk now. read more

Dr. Yang is a true healer. He has been helping me unlock a frozen shoulder that I have had for the past seven years. He listens when you talk and addresses the root cause of the pain. He puts in work , breaking down scar tissue and assisted stretching and movement. Most of the work he does on my shoulder involves a great deal of effort, strength, and knowledge. It can be painful, but the freedom of more movement and less pain after treatment is totally worth it. The pain in my neck has also disappeared. I could not recommend Dr. Yang enough.
