I chose this company specifically because they're local--I live less than 3 miles away--and wanted to support a small business. However, unlike other companies that offer free estimates, I wasn't informed about the service fee beforehand, and it came as a surprise. That lack of transparency was frustrating. While I accept some responsibility for not asking, I believe upfront disclosure should be standard practice. *UPDATE After reading my review, Taylor Plumbing reached out to kindly explain their billing process. I was not overcharged. From what I understand, they use a flat fee for the first job and a lower additional fee for each job after that. They were professional and respectful in clearing things up. My only suggestion: take a moment to listen and make sure you understand the pricing policy before the work begins.

Apparently they did not run the auger all the way to the septic. They certainly did not check, never looked at the tank. When the line backed up a second time I requested someone come out. I was told they were booked and it would be days before someone could get there. I spoke to young Mr. Taylor. He was unapologetic, had no empathy and was down right arrogant and antagonistic. I told him I would not use or recommend Taylor Plumbing in the future. His reply was, "You go for it buddy."

I requested service for an under sink water leak. Aside from the drain pipes and food disposer, I…read morehave an RO water filtration system. Their technician (Brandon) arrived and asked if I agree to pay $400 on 1st hr and $200 every succeeding hr. After 30 mins he told me there were multiple issues and one of which is the filter leak. He suggested that he will need to leave & buy new fittings and will cost me $1,100 for the total service, or he will just replace the whole filtration system for $2,400. I did not agree to any of these. So, he shut off the water filtration system and yes the leak stopped. I asked what was the other problem. He said he fixed it by just cutting a small tube. Paid $400 less the $100 senior discount and he left. Without the RO Filtration System, we have no drinking water on the faucet as well as on the fridge dispensers. But when I turned the filter back on, the LEAK is BACK. I called an RO Water Filter installer for help. He arrived the next day and in 10 mins found the leaking part and replaced it for free and as gratitude, I signed an annual service for Filter Cartridge replacement (3 -cartridges) for $200/year with free maintenance labor on future issues. I feel I got ripped-off by your company. Henry Manabat 818-424-0265 Saint Joseph MO 64503

Chris came out and assess the problem for free. He gave us our options of fixing or replacing And we decided to replace the hot water tank as it was over 10 years old. We were also shocked that he came out the same day and was able to do the job quickly and efficiently. we will definitely call Chris again if we have more plumbing issues.

I was able to easily set up an appointment online within a time frame that would work for me. They called prior to the technician coming out. The technician was professional and friendly and I feel like the quote they gave me was reasonable compared to other companies. They do charge a $49 service fee normally but that's relatively lower compared to other companies. The technician waived the service fee which was extremely nice and not expected. I did end up going with the company I normally use but only because they quoted me a lower price for the same thing but I would consider using Mission in the future if needed.

Be very cautious with Mission Plumbing, Heating and Cooling…read more My neighbor recently had Mission out for a service call; the problem was with the control board in the air handling unit. The tech had to leave to get a board, but was back within a half-hour and spent a little over two hours total, including the time to get a new board. The board was under warranty, so there was no cost for the board. He was charged $1,063.48, but given a 10% "over 65" discount, so total charge was $957.13, which works out to somewhere between, $320 and $479 an hour. The technician also said that he was lucky that the board was under warranty, otherwise it would have cost and additional $1,000 for the board (this was also verified by the service manager at Mission). We got the model number of the board, searched for it on the Internet, and found it on the manufacturer's website (Goodman) for less than $100. We contacted Mission to discuss with the general manager twice; he never returned our calls. We then visited Mission in person to visit with him, but he "was in a meeting", so we were directed to Gabe, who confirmed the charges above. When asked about the pricing for the board, we were told that it is not generated locally, but by Southern. Mission was purchased in April 2021 by Southern Home Services of Maitland, Florida, which owns 26 PHVAC companies primarily along the southeast coast of the United States. Southern is, in turn, owned by Gryphon Investors, a private equity company. So not only does Mission need to cover their overhead locally, they most likely need to also provide funding for Southern, who in turn possibly has to return cash to Gryphon. It all flows uphill. Southern also owns C. M. Mose, another local PHVAC contractor in the Kansas City area. Moral of the story: Mission may have been a good company at one time when it was locally owned, but it has changed. Get pricing up front. Question the technician. If you don't like what you're hearing, go somewhere else, and don't hesitate to go with a mom and pop; quite possibly they can do the job just as well for quite a bit less money. They don't have the overhead that the big guys do (especially if owned by private equity).
