They are VERY unreliable! They call us over and over again to schedule our routine maintenance and then when we do schedule it they cancel and have to reschedule...then we reschedule and they give us a 5 hour window when they will show up and then call and say they are going to be late...now we've wasted 2 whole Saturdays sitting around the house waiting for them to show up. This happens every time, not just once . This is terrible customer service. Choose a different company for your work if you can, don't make the same mistake we did. read more

A tech came out to do an annual winter season 'tuneup' on our hvac... very nice and accomdating. In learning of an issue that became apparent after he left, I called for them to dispatch a tech out to remedy the problem. The new tech, Zach, kept me updated regarding the time-line and ETA every step of the way, and assured me the issue would be resolved so that we'd have heat on what was going to be a cold night. Zach came in and, following a thorough troubleshooting process, made good on his word by resolving the issue so that we had a flawlessly functioning system. Courteous and incredibly knowledgeable, he stayed the course into what must've surely been evening OT hours; it was textbook perfection in how a company should treat a customer. Was there a hiccup? Yes, but that's not the point -- the point is that they went the extra mile in fixing the issue in a timely and professional manner, without an upcharge, and they were super-nice, too... Every call we have had with Climate Control has been handled by very competent technicians. Today we had a maintenance our biannual call and Carlos was very efficient. He walked me through all the areas of our system and thoroughly explained them. Keeping a maintenance contract I believe is very important to the overall health of the HVAC system so we keep up with that. He also alerted me to a possible problem with our water heater and we will have it assessed soon. Thank you Carlos for a great maintenance call. read more

Our Trane furnace is about 10 years old. We are going through this also but with Climate Control. Getting the run around from Trane and complete ghosting from climate control unless we pony up the $3500 for the labor that the warranty does not cover. They have not returned our last phone call when we were pushing them to repair and then go after Trane for the bill themselves. We assumed they would not only back their work but also the products that they carry and push. Honestly , at this point, we don't know if they are pulling some kind of shady stuff. They also installed our water heater. Then a year later came back and said we should have a support strap on the overflow water tank andthey could take care of it for a mere $500. So, we need someone trustworthy to get a second opinion from. read more

Actively trying to ensure that NO ONE uses this company. K came to my house for a "tune up" that we purchased a plan for. I was already anti- climate control after their plumber came for a complimentary plumbing inspection and basically said everything was wrong and it would be thousands of dollars to repair. He also charged me $175 to repair a toilet he did not actually do and I had to hire someone else. I was told this tune up will cost you nothing, blah blah. Within 15-20 minutes of K being in my house, we were in need of a brand new unit for various reasons while he fast talked his way through "proof" aka random pictures of our unit. Prior to him starting his service call, i explained my 5 year old was going through cancer treatment and because of that, we could not have done all of the "repairs" his plumber suggested (which turned out to not even be necessary after a second opinion) K, an apparent cancer survivor himself felt compelled to "help us" However, all K did was lie. He said probably 8 times he was the GM's son and he brings in 2 million a year in revenue and he cared so deeply for our situation that he wanted to help us. Our unit was deemed unsafe and that he would "condemn the whole system" something he said probably 5 times. It was emitting high levels of CO2, was a fire risk essentially, you name it. By the time he left, my husband and I were honestly very concerned. So much so that we listened to him and turned our unit off for SIX days at the end of February. We bundled our three small children up at bedtime, used heaters until we went to bed and woke up cold. We did not really know what to do, it was a massive expense to our family given our situation (or any for that matter) He even went so far as to tell us that their company works with a charity to help people in need and him and his "GM" father cared so much for us that they were going to help us get a new unit covered. I was so blown away that I cried. Turns out, all the sudden while he was still in our home, they "don't do that anymore" Something did not feel right when he sent us the "quote" and his report did not match the dire situation he described to my husband and myself. He did not mark that our unit was unsafe for use or even describe ANYTHING he said outside of our unit being old and dirty. I ended up getting a second, a third, and eventually called the fire department to ease my fear of high levels of CO2 and not one of them came up with K's report. What they all discovered is that he actually did not even "tune up" our system. He just tried to make a sale, I sent the picture he took on his iphone to each company that came and none of the pictures showed anything other than it being dirty and old. I called the company to mainly express my extreme disgust for the entire situation and was assured that this matter would be taken care of and I would be refunded the cost of the toilet repair and tune up plan. It has been two weeks now and nothing. I even called last week to confirm a refund was coming and was once again assured a refund was being expedited to me. Still waiting............. read more

I was attempting to sell my house, and the inspection showed a small leak in the basement from the AC unit. After calling Climate Control- a technician came out and fixed the problem. Upon fixing this problem, he stated that I have a cracked heat exchanger and I needed a whole new system- also stating to me that there was leaking CO2 into my house. After scheduling the service and getting the service completed, I had heard from multiple people stating this was a marketing strategy for this company to get money. During install- I asked multiple times to the technician to show me the crack in the old furnace which they made excuses on why they couldn't show me and no picture was saved on file of the crack. They quoted me 9 k for this new furnace which I'm now paying for with a brand new furnace I don't truly believe I needed. I am beyond upset with this company and their morals as a business. This used to be our "go to" company whenever we had hvac issues. But something changed in the last few years. Their service isn't as great, and their prices came in $1500 above everyone else's. They are very responsive and seem to know what they are doing, but I can't see justifying paying their guys over $230/hour each for labor. After we said that was way too much money for what would only take less than an hour to move. We were still asked to pay $90 just for him to show up for the three minutes that he was in our home. While my family bundles up on Christmas Eve in the 48 degree house " warmed" by climate control, I wish we'd made a different decision for the comfort and well-being of our family. They came out less than a month ago, did nothing, said all was fine and charged us $90. Now, Christmas Eve morning after staying up all night burning through our firewood to keep my family warm (5 degrees outside last night), they want to charge us $200. There are good companies in this town who won't rip you off, do good work, and won't let your family spend the holidays in the cold---we're even still paying off the HVAC Climate Control installed a few years ago. Did all the troubleshooting. Called them for help. They will charge another $200. I'm calling other companies. So disappointing. Keep your family warm. Avoid this Liberty, Missouri HVAC company. We have had problem after problem with Climate Control. In January, we had them install a new furnace because we were desperate for a new unit during the bad winter. After four service calls, it started working properly. I asked for (and received, after much complaining and back and forth with the company) a free preventative maintenance plan, in case it was a bad system. After four service calls, I didn't have a lot of confidence in the system we had installed. I should have known it wasn't the brand new $3000 furnace we had installed that was the issue. The technicians seem nice, but they do not know what they are doing. Last week, I had them check our furnace to get it ready for fall/winter. The guy was there for FIVE HOURS to do a check on a practically new unit. He took the whole things apart to adjust the gas level and couldn't fix it. I called and talked to the Service Manager, Sandy ( I use that term lightly.) Her flippant attitude and rude demeanor upset me so much. I told her someone needed to finish our appointment that day and she told me they could come late in the week. When I told her I didn't want to spend more time on this, her response was that sometimes "life happens". So, after wasting an entire day with an inept tecnhician in my basement, I finally got them to send someone out an hour later. I had to BEG for them to send someone else, and she acted like she was doing me a favor. He was there less than 15 minutes and apparently adjusted the gas level. When he came back upstairs, I asked if he'd done the check and he told me everything was fine. (But he didn't even know why he was there in the first place!) He told me it was a new unit and it should be fine - so after all that, no one really did what they were supposed to do. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with this company. I was just charged $200 per pound for Freon, that other companies are currently charging between $60-$100 !!! The tech wasn't willing to negotiate the price , so I said put a pound in and we will go from there . He wanted $500 just to diagnose the possible slow leak , that was likely the evaporator coil inside . I paid $289 for the service call , plus Freon . I'll have my trustworthy HVAC tech diagnose the problem when he gets back in town and have him do the work . I have since had several HVAC techs. say we were WAY over charged for Freon ! read more

My mother who is retired, has breast cancer and on a very fixed income called them out yesterday because her furnace went out. They fixed nothing and told her she needed a new furnace and this one was beyond repair. Originally they quoted her $69 for the trip charge but charged me $114 when I paid for it. My brother who is not an HVAC technician, was able to get it back up and running just fine (20 whole minutes). Apparently, the tech that came out missed blower day at furnace school! Probably a day he shouldn't have missed. The company also is refusing to admit fault and refund the $114 for the trip. Contractors like this make me sick! This could have ended up costing $1000's of dollars and time. In short, this company will try to take advantage of little old ladies with cancer to up their sales. As a customer do not call or have this company come and work on anything. I'm a business owner and this is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced, the techs are young kids who are half retarded. I have literally been waiting all day for a tech to come to my home to fix the Air dryer that was caused by improper installation from their company That caused a hole to be punctured in the coils of my unit. A year prior to this we had one of those young men come out and look at the unit he upped sold us on Freon which was not the problem $900 plus an extra maintenance agreement package, the results a year later they're telling us that we needed coils and there was a leek that should have been found a year ago when we paid for extra Freon that we did not even need if the Instalation was done properly. This unit is ten10 years old unit I understand that things happen overtime but after two inspections from two different companies letting us know the same conclusion that the unit was installed Improperly and it was the Cause of the leaking coils. I feel that the young man who came out which was late by the way by four hours Just didn't wanna do the job and simply just put a Band-Aid on it by adding extra Freon and selling us a bunch of false hopes that our unit was fixed, this young man up sold us and left with a bunch of money knowing he did wrong. As a business owner I would never do anyone the way this company did me, they simply have no honor in the way they do business. My elderly mother had someone come out today because her a/c wasn't working. The person said they can "put a band aid on it" for around $1,500 or a new unit for $8,000. I was so relieved that after days without air they would be at my place this afternoon. But then they weren't. So I called back and they said I'd receive a call from the tech. But I didn't. So we headed to my Aunts house for dinner. On they way there we get a call that the tech is 20 min from our house. We turn around to go home. An hour later he still isn't there so I call him back 3 times with no answer. My husband calls and is told that someone was supposed to call and cancel as they didn't realize what neighborhood I live in (Lykins). They don't come here after dark. So I call back the main number because this is not acceptable customer service. I again wait for a call back which they leave a voicemail saying the tech is stuck at the previous home that they thought was fixed but he had to go back. When my hvac system was replaced they were unable to use a wired thermostat and replaced it with a wireless one less than 3yrs ago. I'm moving and tried to get information about how discontinuing my internet service would affect the operation of the wireless thermostat. I had to call several times in order to actually speak with a technician who assured me that it didn't require the internet to work. However, since my internet was turned off it's been staying around 65° no matter what it's set to. There only response is to charge me for a service call even though I never asked for a wireless thermostat. This is NOT a Smart thermostat yet the customer service ppl that answer their phone, and even the tech I spoke with, assume I can talk to it. read more

I had multiple quotes on a tricky water leak coming from my main water inlet line that was leaking - Technician went above and beyond to stop the tricky water leak at a coupler that connected the inlet water line that goes from inside line to outside to the street. job was dependent on one rusty , corroded , ugly coupler coming off and not breaking the line going out to the street. Technician took his time and went to great lengths to keep job from going from a $800 repair to a $5k repair to have main line repaired. He was respectful, on time and job was performed with care . I was provided with an honest quote and job was done exactly how he said it would be. I was very happy! read more

If it was possible to give a zero rating I would. This company installed a new a/ c unit 3 years ago. This summer it stopped cooling I called and a tech came out put new freon in but didn't check for leaks. Two weeks later it is no longer cooling called back and they sent out the same tech lance. This time he determined a rodent had chewed through my compressor but did not specify if it chewed through the steel compressor or copper line connections? It's the most rediculous lie anybody could come up with and they expect people would belive this. The leak is from there shoddy instalation and they won't own up to it! Everyone has financial troubles and ours happened at the worst time, out water heater leaked water out into the garage and our 20 year old furnace stopped working. When it was 5 degrees out! The system was originally put in by Climate Control and we loved it all 20 years. We found our self in a tough spot due to have to replace it. After having Lance out to see if he could get it to run we found out it needed to be replaced. Lance was great! We decided to have James out to give us an estimate, after talking about our financial issues, James worked quickly to find a way to get us heat (since we haven't had any in 3 days). He came up with the idea to talk to northland neighborhoods, a program to help out when in need. James made all the phone calls and sent me the application, all I had to do was fill it out. The very next day James called and said we were going to receive a furnace AND water heater for FREE! I remember James saying he didn't care about getting the bid as long as we were given heat and hotwater. They are installing my system now, Kasey and Zack are great and helpful. I can not express my gratitude towards Climate Control! I don't know what we would have done if it wasn't for them! I will refer them to anyone I know and stand behind the character of this business! This business is horrible. We asked them to come out to do a summer maintenance service and they messed our furnace up!!!! They said we need this this and this fixed and he replaced them all but after he got done our house got super hot it was 89 degrees and I have a puppy and baby living in here with me. So we had them come back and he said he fixed it which lasted a couple of hours and then it stoped working. They told us the part will not be in til monday so we have to wait 2 hot days til we can get our ac working. This business is horrible!!!! The ac was working great before they fucked it up!!!!!!!!!! Micah, service tech was very friendly and thorough. What I am about to add is not his responsibility but that of the company! We purchased the furnace system from Climate Control and have had the twice a year preventative maintenance service done for 13 years. The service was required to comply with the warranty. The last two times service has been scheduled they have called the day of and said "sorry we have to reschedule because we have had techs call in sick". This time they called at the scheduled time and said the tech was going to be late because someone else had called in and needed service first. Then they called about an hour later and said they had several techs call in sick and would have to schedule for another day. The other thing we do not like is that the techs are responsible to get you to sign up for more scheduled maintenance to be paid ahead of time "to save money" and so you will get a discount on any possible future work needed. We don't like the HIGH PRESSURE to purchase a preventative maintenance contract. Their prices seem to be higher than others especially if you don't buy a contract. We plan to check out other companies going forward. read more

Finding myself at home recovering from a medical event in Feb, I decided to get things done around the house. One on the list was an HVAC service, since I knew we had missed the annual servicing in '12. I could not find the file for our regular HVAC people. After checking on the internet, I decided upon Climate Control Heating and Cooling, in Liberty, Mo. I set the service appointment and the technician came out and did a regular tune-up on the system. Upon leaving, Travis advised me that because he had cleaned the blower and that it had been very dirty, it would be making an extra loud sound because the blower would be pulling harder now that it no longer had dirt. However, he said, after a few days it will settle down. I'm not knowledgeable about motors and such so I thought nothing of it. Boy WAS it LOUD. It sounded like a jet engine. After a week of this and other problems, I called Gene at Climate Control and told him that the sound of the blower was still very loud, the thermostat had been behaving quite erratically since the tune-up and that the whole system was cycling very awkwardly. I was concerned because none of these issues, nor any others, had been in the system prior to the tune-up. Gene assured me that he would send someone right out. The second technician, Justin, came out and said that he and the first technician, Travis, had spoken about the blower and that Travis could take care of it. He spent some time with our HVAC system and then came upstairs to tell me that the blower was just about shot and that we need to replace it either now or sometime really soon as it was just about shot. Travis gave me quotes of about $800 to replace the blower. The system continued to work erratically and with problems, which I thought highly suspicious considering there had been no problems prior to the tune-up. After further searching, I finally found the name of the trusted HVAC people that we had used before and decided that I really needed a second opinion about the NEW problems having arisen in our system. To negate any comments that Climate Control of Liberty might counter with ( i.e.that's just a competitor bad-mouthing us), I also called a friend of mine who is an HVAC construction engineer to FIRST give his opinion. He came and looked at the system and determined that the blower was just fine. The fine folks at Arctic Air had arrived while my friend was still here. My HVAC engineer friend and Arctic Air tech discussed that the blower was operating very well. Arctic Air tech took the front panel off and immediately saw what the problem was: in the basic hook-ups, our system had been re-hooked into something other than the Heat Speed Relay causing the blower to not cycle as it should. So, two technicians from Climate Control of Liberty, came out and our system was reset in a very basic way, so that the blower would appear as if it were malfunctioning and needed replacing. read more

I received the call and left work early only to wait at least 3 hours for a tech to magically appear. High pressure sales, lots of fast talking. Didn't have tools with him - asked to use mine AND didn't return them to the garage - left them in backyard. I guess I should be grateful he didn't steal them. Overpriced. Poor quality. unfortunately, they charged me $89 to turn a handle that controlled water to my humidifier. A whole 10 minutes was spent at my house. Said it was a service call charge, I understand a service charge. But NOT that high. There is no mention of this greedy fee on their web site. There was no mention of it when I talked with the person on the phone (twice).
