Every time they come out, they will say, "I have good news and bad news." The bad news is always that your furnace, sump pump, air conditioner, electric panel, water heater, etc., is outdated and should be replaced. Every. Single. Time. Be prepared to push back. The company shows a clear lack of respect for their clients' time. Even in an emergency situation, they failed to respond appropriately--taking 8 hours to send a technician for an active leak, only to dispatch the wrong person. However, they seem to have no issue promptly sending someone to collect payment--often before the work is even completed. That part of their service is remarkably punctual. On another occasion, they disregarded clearly communicated availability and scheduled at the wrong time. Additionally, they have been dishonest about their availability. We were told there was no weekend service, yet a technician later confirmed that weekend appointments do exist. Overall, the experience has been frustrating and unprofessional. read more

Workers were 2+ hours late for both days of what I was told would be a one day job. The main job they were here to do was to upgrade from us from 100 amp to 200 amp service and separate out a triple tap a home inspector noted that was causing a breaker to trip frequently. The guy from Wilson who came to give the quote said doing the service upgrade and separating the kitchen from the master bedroom and the bathroom, putting each on their own separate breakers, would solve our problem of it tripping constantly. This was written in their quote. As it turns out, separating the three rooms onto three breakers did not solve our problem, but Wilson won't do anything about it without charging us more. They offered a "discounted rate as a courtesy" for future work and also a discounted healthy home membership - no thanks! I was recorded in a conversation saying "ok, uh-huh" and "I understand" when they mentioned that it's possible for a breaker to trip if it is overloaded, which makes sense. But they had told me that separating the triple tap onto three breakers would fix our problem. We have not changed anything else about the wiring or plugged in any additional small appliances, but every time we turn on the microwave if the fridge happens to kick on it trips the breaker. I'm extremely disappointed. They were also asked to add a pull chain light fixture in a food storage pantry. They apparently made a mistake when they cut the first hole so they moved over a couple inches and cut a second hole. They "fixed" the first hole with a wood screw. Rather than installing an independent pull chain light, they tied the pull chain fixture to a switch that operates the adjacent storage room light. They made a big dusty mess by cutting up the ceiling in the storage room in order to tie the wiring together to a single switch and make the pull chain unneccessary. I wasn't warned they would be doing that and I didn't empty the room, so I had to wash everything that had been hanging on our baker's rack. The adjacent room's ceiling was put back together very poorly with random screws holding the tiles together and it will now have to be replaced entirely. Wilson won't do anything to fix the ceiling issues they caused because they are considered cosmetic and the contract fine print says that "some paint or drywall damage is possible". Scratches or marks would be understandable, but this seems excessive (see photos). To review, Wilson was late, slow, messy, and expensive, so I would never recommend them. read more

Wilson bills a flat charge and won't break down parts and labor. Told me McDonalds doesn't breakdown the cost of their hamburgers! lol but my mechanic breaks down parts and labor. I was suspicious and thought the charge was extremely high. It was a Friday afternoon and I couldn't get service scheduled with another company until the following week. Against my better judgement I caved. Later found a motor for $350. For one hours work, labor is $2,150. Totally took advantage of me. They have a bad reputation and they're laughing all the way to the bank. Not sure how the owners sleep at night. Does my furnace now work, yes. But that's not the point. The serviceman almost immediately recommended that I get a new humidifier. He then said that he wanted to look at the furnace. He was starting to deform the cover trying to remove it. When I do commented that he was bending it. He looked at me with something resembling defiance and anger and said "Do you want me to open it or not!". I told him that he was done. Leaving he gave me his estimate, about $580 to fix/replace the humidifier, about $1500 to replace the furnace. I called someone else. He came over right away, no 2 day wait. He said that the humidifier line was plugged, and he cleared it. He looked at the furnace, and he removed the cover without deforming the metal. He said both humidifier and furnace were fine. I am writing to express my absolute disappointment with my experience with Wilson. We have been Wilson Healthy Home members for many years, and have always used Wilson for our services and been impressed with the quality of the work we have received. However, this last week has been a nightmare. I scheduled a repair with Wilson. Our tech, Brian, came out on Monday afternoon. He diagnosed the problem with our leaky shower. I told him it leaks into the living room when someone is showering. He told us we needed a new tub spout, new shower head, access panel in our closet, and new shower valve. We were quoted $1.6k for this service. I signed, knowing that even though it was expensive, it was worth it because we have always been more than satisfied with Wilson's work. Noah came out on Tuesday. He was kind, polite, and efficient. My husband noticed on Tuesday evening that the plate behind the shower head was not caulked to the wall - no big deal, these things happen, so we called and they were apologetic and sent him out on Wednesday morning to correct this. He did in a timely manner and was very kind. Wednesday evening, I took a shower and we noticed the same issue - the shower was leaking into our living room. My husband called and explained the situation. We were scheduled for a recall repair. The tech came out, my husband showed him the video of the leak from inside the access panel and the tech performed another repair. Fast forward to this evening when I go to take another shower, and the shower is STILL leaking. We called Wilson and they said they could get another tech to come out tomorrow. My husband and I have now both taken off multiple days to deal with this situation and couldn't afford more time off. They said they could fit us in on this Saturday - oh wait, no Saturday appointments were available - we can do it next weekend (May 3rd). That's over a week without a shower. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was no one to speak to. We came to an agreement that someone will come out on Monday. I will be taking off of work AGAIN. This will be time number five that someone is coming out to repair what should have been done early this week. We have spent over a thousand dollars to fix this issue. I am so incredibly frustrated with the way this issue has been handled. Clearly the problem was misdiagnosed and now we are paying the price. I cannot express enough how upset I am with this situation. I cannot afford another expensive fix and I am questioning our choice to use Wilson for this repair. read more

This company is nowhere near what they use to be. They have overextended themselves trying to service everyone in northeast Ohio. I set up an appointment thru AI of course, 5 days ago for a radiator leak on a hot water system. I followed that up by calling all of their phone numbers, all answered by AI of course - trying to talk to a real person. Unbelievably, 5 minutes later I received a callback, which was great! I wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page. I have a leak in a pipe leading to the radiator in my kitchen, the boiler is fine, I need a couple riser pipes replaced. The Wilson representative said everything is good to go, be there Wednesday between 8 and noon. Wednesday morning at 9 am Wilson Co. called and cancelled - nobody available to do the work! Maybe next time I will schedule a month in advance so they have enough time on their end - but actually I will use someone else. I'm really disappointed with Wilson. The quote they provided said the job was going to be very difficult so it will be expensive. I assumed they knew what they were talking about so I said ok. The quote said it was going to take 1+ days. It turns out that the job took 5.5 hours but they charged me exactly what the quote said. I think that's very unprofessional. Furnace trouble March 17. Tech came right away and diagnosed bad motor which would need ordering. Was going out of town March 18. This was made clear to tech, dispatch, and call center. Prepaid for motor, told office to keep card to finish paying for repair since I would be out of town, but granddaughter would be there to let in tech when he came. This was also told to dispatch and office. Received an email March 21 saying they would be out that day, no time mentioned. I was told during initial call that they were wide open all week. At noon, I instructed my granddaughter to call and see if she could lock down a time frame. THe house was at 37 degrees. They told her between 2-4. At 4 I called and was told by 5. At 5, I was told by the office that I had been called numerous and they had no response from me. I was then told that repair would have to be moved to Sunday March 23 between 12-6. I called at 5:30 and was told that the call was somehow missed and tech had clocked out for the day. Leo stated he would send to dispatch first thing Monday morning at 7. I called at 7:45. No plan had yet been made for the repairman to come. After several rounds of wrong phone numbers on record and my daughter missing work, the tech showed up about an hour later. This was 5 days without heat with a 16 year old in the house. No apology, no offer to reduce price. I have used Wilson many times in the past. THere will be no future use. read more

I'm writing this based on what my daughter and son in law experienced. They contacted Wilson to install a dishwasher and kitchen faucet. What a MESS. Less than 1 month later the dishwasher began to leak all but ruining their hardwood floors. Oops. Put the wrong connector part on. The company reimbursed nothing of over $1,500 damage done. Wilson's was also by far the best of four to five quotes I received for the job. I don't think the current 2 to 3 stars represents the service I received. Wilson Plumbing . T came today and went directly to unit 919 to start working, even though I told them (in advance and on the day of the job) to come to 921 (my unit) first. I revisited Wilson Plumbing's ratings today and found very bad reviews. I found complaints on the Better Business Bureau's website, too. I called Wilson Plumbing and told them that I wanted the work on 919 to be fully completed today, but that I wasn't going to proceed with the work in 921 until 919 was done satisfactorily. I then emailed the same to Wilson Plumbing. My tenant then told me that Wilson Plumbing told her that I refused to allow them to cut further into the wall and that their manager had talked with me. Their manager never talked with me. The technicians then proceeded to go sit in their van for over 20 minutes. My tenant was left with a non-working sink and the ceiling over her sink caving in from water pouring out that wasn't pouring out before. My tenant asked Wilson to remove their new parts because her sink was unusable with their plumbing and it could at least be used with a bucket beneath it without their plumbing. Rather than talk with me, they uninstalled the new plumbing and dumped the old plumbing in a bucket with water and sludge. I called Wilson and was told their plumbing manager was out of town and that their other manager was unavailable. They said they would call me back. My tenant then told me that Wilson had made a mess of black sludge and left it and the unfinished job. Wilson was still sitting in their van. I called Wilson again and finally was able to speak with someone who told me she was trying to figure out what was going on. I told her their plumbers left my tenant with a bigger problem than we initially had. I said I didn't understand why the technician lied to my tenant about Wilson talking with me. I then approached the technician outside asking why he told my tenant that I stopped the work. He didn't answer, but said the new leak had nothing to do with the work they were doing, which is wholly untrue. They spent hours sawing into walls and piping and that damaged other plumbing causing the ceiling above the sink to literally turn to mush and begin falling down. At that point I wanted nothing more to do with Wilson, so I told the technician I was done working with their company and I emailed that to Wilson and called another plumbing company to fix the damage and do the original job. I then called the financing company and canceled financing. My tenant was left with a torn up, leaking kitchen and a torn up bathroom sink with no plumbing. I was given a 4 hour window yesterday and showed up 30 minutes after the window. I was given a 4 hour window this morning and no show with 30 minutes left. Work is supposed to take a few hours. It was hard to find an HVAC company that has techs who actually work on boilers often, for the steam system in our old home. We found Wilson after a few false starts with others, stayed with them for many years. We recently tried a new company for a few new installations, but after more false starts, came BACK to Wilson. The son is now running Wilson and the place has improved over time. Today Armin came out to do our boiler checkup. He was exceptional: friendly, and thoughtful in his work. Installed a "frost free" spigot in my garage for 700$. Told me it was the top of the line option and would never have problems. 1 year later it is leaking and instead of fixing the problem they quoted me an additional 650$ to repair. Spoke with several members of their team who were extremely unhelpful. Overall very poor experience, choose a different company for your service. read more

Please proceed with caution when using this company. I hired them to do electrical inspection on Friday 4/19. In order to solve the problem they had to take down all ceiling fans/lights and open each outlet. Tim was able to resolve the problem quickly. Great job Tim! After a few hours the power shut back off. They were able to immediately get out a tech on site that Saturday 4/20. He was able to locate the issue which is great. Upon him leaving I asked if all ceiling fans were in working order and mounted on the ceiling he said yes. We had a tenant move in on the 24th and send me the following picture of the bedroom. You will notice the ceiling fan was not put back up after the tech left on Saturday. I understand the ceiling fan wasn't mounted properly prior. If this was the case then inform me and put the ceiling fan back up the way you found it. For you to leave a ceiling fan on the ground is unacceptable. Please reference the email from Saturday that doesn't include picture of the bedroom. They also want to charge me $750 for a problem they created. read more

We had Wilson come out in June of 2023 because we were having an issue with our HVAC cutting on and off. They told us that it wasn't installed properly and they needed to make some revisions to the initial installation. The unit was about 7 years old. We explained to them that there was a big issue with the temperature and conditions being unacclimatized upstairs, since we live in a 1895 home, and it was only designed for heating. The register is downstairs with none upstairs. Wilson told us that if we put in a new unit for $7,000, it would cool both the upstairs and downstairs without issue, and without having to do any revisions upstairs like supplemental ductwork and/or a dual zoning system. The comfort specialist, as their sales representatives are called, came out and looked to connect with us. We told them that our cat of 12 years had recently passed away, and he said that he had also lost two dogs several months prior. We also explained that we like the temperature around 65 degrees, and he stated that he keeps his unit set at 67 degrees in his home. After the unit was installed, there was zero improvement upstairs. There remained a difference in temperature of between 12 to 18 degrees between upstairs and downstairs, with the upstairs temperature generally 82 to 88 degrees, and unconditioned with high humidity. Still under warranty, we explained to Wilson that the unit did not perform the way they represented it would. We would not have purchased a new HVAC, and instead would have kept the unit that we had, and gotten a ductless system upstairs, since that was the primary issue. Wilson refused to offer any resolution. They claimed they would call, as well as come out to address the issue. However, they never did. Thus, this is a case of theft by deception, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, because they manipulated us into to getting a new unit that we did not need, knowing that it would not resolve the temperature and humidity issues upstairs, where all the bedrooms are in the house. In addition to their very inflated prices, it should be clear that their customer service is horrible. They have a 2.7 rating on yelp and a 3.6 on BBB. The 4.8 rating they have advertised, is connected with their website, and one should proceed with extreme caution in dealing with this company. With no resolution from Wilson, we have been forced to spend thousands of dollars on window units and portable air conditioners, since the one they installed only cools off the ground floor, while the one outside has caused mold to build up in the basement, with possible damage to our furnace which we installed in 2017. Caveat Emptor, buyer beware. Wilson is not safe for your health or wallet. read more

Very deceptive company. Will find potential issues and then recommend replacement or repair. Had a technician tell me my AC unit had a refrigerant leak and then quoted $1200 to try and find the leak. He then tried to tell me that potentially I would need one of the valves replaced after their inspection for $2 to 3K and then suggested I could buy a new unit for almost the same amount of money. My unit is only 10 years old. I called another company to validate what Wilson told me and they didn't find any leak issues. They repaired a faulty wire and that was it. Had a technician come out to possibly repair a leak. Before any work would be done, I was required to agree to pay $85 for a diagnosis of the problem over and above the $89 service call charge. Then I was told the job would cost $857 plus $500 in labor for what should be only about $300! Also, the technician highly recommended I file an insurance claim! I asked how old the furnace was and he told me 16 years old then asked if I knew how long they lasted. I said about 20 years. He looked at me like I was crazy and said no, only about 15. Turns out, they last 20 - 25 years. Told me then that I had bigger problems and then quoted me over $2k to fix or over $5k to replace. The guy rubbed me the wrong way so I called another contractor. We just had to have our steam boiler replaced. (Nov. 17, 2023) We had contact with Greg Brasfield first and he found the problem. Bob Brannan came out the next morning to give an estimate and explain things. Then within 1 hour the technicians Umesh Chhetri and Greg Thrasher were there. They did an excellent job and explained everything. Done is less than 2 days. Great service and courtesy from all four of these gentlemen. Wilson Plumbing and Heating know their trade. Exactly 2 weeks ago Wilson Plumbing replaced our hot water heater to the tune of $4200.00. To their credit, someone came immediately, replaced the heater and hauled away the old one. However, that was a week day. Today, Saturday, no one can come to repair or replace the failed 2 week old heater. They're trying but I'm told maybe Monday. Plumbing emergencies happen 23/7 and yet they have no one available on a Saturday. I have to think, though, that if this were brand new business that would bring in $4200.00, someone would be here promptly. Totally unacceptable business model. read more

I made an appointment to have them fix my toilet that was flushing poorly and filling the tank to overflowing and dripping on the floor. I could see that the float was not moving up and down like it should and it was hissing when it finally stopped filling the tank. If I didn't tap on the float to stop the hissing I would later come into the bathroom and water would be on the floor. So I just stopped using that toilet and turned off the valve at the floor. When two plumbers arrived they were nice and on time and put coverings on their shoes. They proceeded to try and evaluate the reason for my problem. First I was told the shutoff valve was defective, which it turned out not to be, which I already knew this. Second they said everything in the tank was bad, which I figured was my problem anyway. Third they told me my toilet needed to be replaced and the sales man proceeded to show me his book of things to purchase and the prices. Needless to say I was in shock and disgusted but I wouldn't show it. I let them dig their grave with me and I played along. I told them I need to think about what I wanted to do because in the end it was going to cost me $581 dollar to replace that toilet that didn't need to be replaced. I paid the bill for them to come over and said my goodbyes. I immediately text a friend of mine and told her the story. She then text me the name and number of a plumber she new and I phoned him and he came out the same day. Within 20 minutes he snatched out the guts of the tank and put on a new toilet seat I had purchased and it cost me $45 dollars. The toilet is flushing perfectly. What a blessing this man was and I am sincerely grateful to him. Wilson Plumbing and Heating should be ashamed to do business like this and I am sure me being a woman is always a cha-ching moment for a lot of businesses. read more
