My Rheem Furnace was not turning on after I turned on the thermostat...didn't hear the normal click…read moreafter I slid the button on. I thought maybe the batteries were dead, so I installed new batteries into thermostat. Well that didn't solve anything. So I called Hey Neighbor, they asked me a few questions about he brand of our furnace and about how old it was. Then they scheduled an appointment, within 3 days. My call was on a Friday and they came out early Monday morning, to fix it...They sent me a text message with tracking info so you know when he will arrive. Once here he ran it through a diagnostic test and said it was a few possible things. He took out the thermo coupler & flame sensor and cleaned the soot off both of them. Reinstalled them and then installed a Honeywell thermostat. Since our Rheem furnace is high efficiency and a 2 stage he recommended a certain one, I agreed. New technology. He slid the thermostat button on, it clicked and came to life. He ran it thru 3 heat on cycles and 3 air conditioning on cycles, to make sure that worked as well. All totaled he was here about an hour. So this service call cost me $25.00 on a credit card for the service call through Dominion East Ohio Gas Company Furnace Program. I've had this service since 2014. Has a monthly charge of $11.95 on my gas bill. Dominion is contracted with Hey Neighbor for Furnace & Air Conditioning Services. I feel this service is well worth the money paid into it for a knowledgeable professional to service your equipment. I wouldn't hesitate to call Hey Neighbor again. Thanks Darnell.

He explained that a hardware store water heater is of cheaper quality than the "professional" model he would install. He also correctly guessed that a competitive quote had come in lower because they did not factor in permitting the work, which he felt was important, and I agreed. He did look for multiple ways to save us some money, including combining visits, not charging for the initial investigation of our gas leak, discounting a subsequent job; he even researched the design lifetime of my new water heater and recommended against getting an extended warrantee in my case since the heater was built to last at least that long if not longer. Gas company comes out to turn Gas back on and says it's still leaking. Call Buddy's back out, they now say the leak is coming from the main line going into the house, and give an estimate of almost $6000 to fix. So, let me get this straight...you want me to hire you again for a $6000 job, when i just paid you over $500 and you obviously didnt do much of anything except maybe do a pressure test which accomplished nothing and benefitted me zero? I don't think so.....
