I love this place. Our family has shopped here for well over 25 years. We stop on our way from MS back to Chicago. We buy in bulk and stock our freezers. Please watch out if you are paying cash! I went there today to meet with the manager about large orders. However, as I was waiting I purchased 2 chicken wings. I had one crispy 20.00 bill in my wallet and I gave it to her. She gave me back 8 bucks! I said to her I gave you a 20, she said no you gave me a 10. I said check that. When she opened the register, the ten I saw was not a fresh new ten dollar bill. The 20 I saw was...so. I said okay and I walked out. As I was sitting the car explaining to my husband what happened. Someone came out and said you wanted to see the Manager, I said no, not anymore no thank you! I've never been a big fan of this place like some people rant and rave about it. The prices are ridiculous the you can see the frozen foods have been refrozen and frost and defrosted. This is not good as in ServeSafe classes they tell you to stay away from such foods. But I am done with them! I did not argue with the elderly lady because I did not pay attention when I gave her my money. But going forward. Call out your cash you are handing to the register because I notice they don't do that anymore. And it's a for sure way people are getting ripped off! read more

I didn't have a good experience there today so I made the mistake of purchasing the wrong kind of fish and when it was brought to my attention, I was told no refunds and I couldn't return it if I had taken it out the door, which I did not so I feel if I were a Caucasian female things would have been handled totally different! I will not be shopping there again I have never experienced a situation like that and it made me feel discriminated against, The owner had a very nasty attitude! read more

What an amazing place. I got fresh cut thick bacon, ground beef, smoked ham hocks, smoked sausage, fresh eggs, blackberry cobbler, fresh frozen lima beans, and an onion. Store was clean. Service was prompt. It's kind of narrow aisles for buggies, and the buggies are in terrible shape. Parking space was ample. They was busy, which is a good sign. I was very impressed by the selection of items in this market. I would like to see a produce section added, but I'll return for sure. read more

I went to Wilson's on a recommendation to buy some meats to carry back to Atlanta. The selection was beyond anything I expected, and I ended up buying more than anticipated. All have proven wonderful. I bought both mild and "hot" deer sausage mixed with pork; the "hot" was not too hot, but both were tasty. I plan to return this Fall in hopes of some deer or other meats that I can't find in regular supermarkets. read more

I love butcher shops. So fresh. It may always look busy and packed at times but you will not have to wait very long in line. Everyone is on top of their A game and they are so awesome with customers. Every trip to MS our parents take orders for who wants sausage. Will freeze and travel! My Dad sent me to a neighboring town to fetch some fresh sausage and bacon for his morning breakfasts. Seriously, I was send 40 minutes away to buy fresh pork. Why? Because my Dad said so. Anyway, I'm a trooper as I did not see the point in doing this when you can buy bacon at Kroger. When I arrived, I realized this was a real butcher shop. You can buy your raw meat in any form that you prefer. I was specifically told to buy five pounds of bacon and five pounds of ground sausage. I was a little intimidated when I walked in as it was a lot to take in all at once. Luckily, I went with someone who knew the ordering process. There was meat everywhere...chicken, beef, pork, deer, wild game...just meat. Anyway, I spent $40 on pork and left. I was overwhelmed! It was not a bad experience at all. The people were nice, but it was just too much for me to take in all at once. When I got back to my Dad's house, he asked me to split up all that pork in small servings and place it in Ziploc freezer bags. Done! I'm tired. I found out about Wilson's Meat Market in Okla. Their link smoke sausages are to die for. Now that I live in Memphis, I travel to Crystal Springs to Wilson and purchase 20 to 30 pounds of the pork link sausage. I'm glad they have started shipping. Whew!!!! read more
