At no point did I question his intelligence or qualifications. All of his explanations were detailed and concise. He asked us if we understood after every point he made. He is the real deal. I feel confident that all major issues that could have been observed were done so. We got an excellent report (physical and digital) which included all of the things that Eric told us during the walkthrough (which lasted about 1.5 hours). He took pictures of everything inspected and uploaded them to a custom photo album, available to be viewed online. Eric gave us tons of tips on how to maintain items in the house as well. I wasn't familiar with the process and he explained everything. I also found him to be very thorough. There were obvious items that I either missed or hadn't thought of. The best part was that he would explain his findings without making me feel stupid. We aren't all engineers but I consider myself somewhat intelligent. However, when it comes to something such as insulation and faulty brands, it is nice to be able to rely on an expert. I can't say the house I wanted to buy passed with flying colors and interestingly enough, I was ok with that. I was paying for peace of mind and the ability to be aware of potential issues. Eric would state his findings but was careful to not offer an opinion on if I should buy the house or not. That decision was up to me but he made sure I was well informed. I had a follow up question a few days later and he returned my call right away. The report that was sent had a every detail in it and was clearly laid out. I felt armed with enough information to make a good buying decision. While I did not particularly enjoy the entire buying/selling process, I would use this company again with confidence. A billion stars for Eric!…read more I was in a jam and needed to book an inspector the next day. I called all over town and even crossed over to Pennsylvania, but most inspectors were booked until the following week. When I finally spoke to Eric with "Atlas Home Inspection," and explained to him how the seller was only giving me 24hrs to get my inspection in without losing my deposit, Eric squeezed my inspection in, after a long, hot day of inspecting other homes. I'm in California and the inspection needed to be done in Burlington County, NJ, so I was not expecting much from an unsupervised inspection, but after Eric finished he called me and I was amazed how he combed through every inch of the house. When Eric went into the crawl space, he discovered rotting wood under the wash room, rusty and deteriorating ductwork, moisture issues, and other minor problems. Eric pointed out electrical fire hazards from wire lines coming into the house. He checked every outlet and informed me which needed to be replaced with GFCI receptacles and why the plug for the fridge should not be GFCI. Eric spotted major problems, that were not detectable to a lame person like me, with the chimney foundation and firebox. Eric did not just climb the roof on a muggy day and looked around, he actually lifted problem shingles and investigated issues he found, then he got up in the attic to figure out how extensive the damage was from the inside, as well as the outside. Eric not only took his time to list his concerns to me over the phone, but he patiently explained in detail what it means so an inexperienced woman like myself would be caught up to speed construction terms and how it affects the house. Eric treated me with respect, even though we both knew I had no idea what he was talking about, and did not talk down to me or brush me off. He simply educated me and gave me his estimate of how much each problem could cost to fix and how I could research contractors. Never once did he pushed his other services; in fact, he was so honest, Eric actually informed me that I did not need to pay extra for a termite certification since it is not requested by the lender and that he was going to inspect the home for termites and other pest anyway. The amazing part was that Eric did not even asked for payment upfront, knowing that I was in California. He didn't have me sign any paperwork ahead of time or withheld his report until I paid him. He did not give me any BS on how his rate starts at blah and could cost more (which means it is going to be more). He had the most competitive flat rate. He trusted me and I can strongly say that you can trust Eric. Outstanding!!!

With their history in construction and remodeling, they could quickly see and point out problems. We spent almost 3 hours walking around the entire property together, outside and inside. We checked the roof, attic, and basement. We tested all the appliances and fixtures. We checked the hvac, electrical, and sump pump systems. Best of all, they are funny and easy to talk with. They answered all of my questions and provided advice on how I could DIY fix some of the smaller problems. My home inspection was fun and very educational! Afterwards, they sent us our report that same night! We also received our radon testing results in 2 days. They were also able to provide a rough general estimate for repairs.

Rot so bad that that the joist wouldnt even support the weight of a person standing on it, and the rot was all the way through the entire joist, top to bottom. This was pressure treated lumber and there is no possible way it went from being in good condition as they reported to fully rotted away in 4.5 months. This resulted in repairs in the $1000's. When contacted to get a refund, Vincent asked why I didn't discover the problem sooner and bring it to their attention. PA allows up to One (1) year to find Errors/Omissions in an Inspection Report, I reported mine within 4.5 months of moving into the house. They then tried to blame heavy vine coverage to blocked their view, the inspection was in April, nothing was heavily grown yet, I have pictures to show how clear the view of everything was just days before the actual inspection. Very unprofessional and overlooks problems and then blames the client for not finding their mistake sooner. Vincent threatened me with slander for this bad review.

Pros: Included useful photos in the report regarding where to find meter and other shutoffs. He did test appliances to ensure they were working as specified during the inspection He was timely and provided the report via email CONS: Unfortunately, Steve missed multiple repair issues (roof approaching end of life, severe wood rot in exterior areas) that were readily apparent to contractors I consulted around the time of the inspection. These repairs were quoted at 4-5 figures each based on contractor estimates. 3) caulking was missing or failing in multiple areas that are extremely prone to leaking in bathrooms. Steve failed to mention that these areas should be re-caulked ASAP. This is a cheap repair, but can cause massive damage if left ignored over time. I feel should have been pointed out since this issue does not require expertise in tiling/bathroom renovation to identify. 3) Steve did NOT use a thermal camera or moisture meter; maybe this has changed since the time of my inspection. This can present a serious issue, as expensive repairs can be missed without the use of these tools. My understanding based on hearing from other homebuyers' experiences is that good home inspectors are expected to have these tools on hand. As a result of my experience, unfortunately, I cannot recommend NPI inspection services.
