Wonderful place. Great country bands, dancing, karaoke. And you can throw axes too! The staff does a great job. We've made it a regular stop. The karaoke guy is a real pro, better than many. The singers are all good too, not like the squished toads you often hear at karaoke shows. Karaoke is on Tuesdays. The bands are Friday, Saturday and Sunday, l think. The dance floor is good sized so you're not running into each over. Plenty of seating. You can have food delivered or bring your own. It's the best place in town. read more

I was happy when we walked in, it appeared to be a very chill spot. Pros live music Nice dance floor Dive feel Everyone seemed happy! Cons Rude waitstaff and manager/owner - this is a huge problem! Limit on the amount of drinks you can have (my friend was ordering drinks for other people and apparently they all "counted against him". ). He was told to "slow the hell down". Could've sat there and danced and drank all night. We walked to the bar, so no worries about drinking and driving, but alas, cut off at 2 beers each. We are older so there was not a ruckus being caused, just wanted a low key night of drinks and dancing. The place was dead for a reason. As we were leaving, a few people were trying to get in and apparently they had been 86'd on a different night. We chatted with them on our way to a much better spot and learned the bar is infamous for banning people. Unfortunately, it's not a spot we will visit again. read more

Wait staff is shady. Said we walked our tab and we had proof we had paid. Won't be going back there again. Beware if you go there. Called owners to let them know they said they would call me back and never did. Very disappointed we go to Ruidoso every year and have had nothing but a great experience. Lesson learned. This bar lost not only 2 customers, but also friends. We have been barred because my husband "wouldn't move out of the way" the last time we were there. However, nothing was said and security never came to ask him to move. But the bar owners said their daughter said she asked him to move and he didn't. Seems a little suspect since the manager doesn't like him to begin with. That's fine, the locals keep revenue coming during the slow season and we'll spend our money some place we're appreciated. read more

I grew up in this town, and this has always been THE de facto cowboy bar in town. It's been around since the town's early days, and is a reliable source of all things old school country bar. What to know: the crowd is country (see above). That means boots and cowboy hats. There is dancing and live music. The bands are ever-changing, but they're always something a little country. Although WPS has tried to keep up the facilities in it's 25+ years of life, the bathrooms and the main space show their age. I think it's charming, but this is not some modern, shiny, hip, spot. It's an old school country bar. There used to be a drive through package liquor store on premises. I think you can still walk up and get something to go. In the summer the owner rented a little bus that parked outside for people to smoke in. read more

There's live music every night (I think) and a nice dance area if you're drunk enough or just love to dance to pretty decent country western music. Yeah, I said it. Love this place, its definitely where the locals hang out. Great live music. The daytime bartender Virgil is a crusty old school dude. You definitely have to be careful where you sit at the bar because you dont want to be caught sitting one of the regulars bar stool or you might get your butt kicked!!! VERY local-type bar with a local crowd. Bartender was a bit edgy and unfriendly to us (we were obvious outsiders). When asked what they had on tap, the curt response was "margaritas!" Kind of threw us off because we had never heard of margaritas on tap. Fireman's 4 yes. But margaritas? The atmosphere is great, low-brow, honky tonk. Music was good and the dancing was entertaining. Especially the cowgirls boot-scootin' with a pinch under their gum. It's worth a drop in next time you pass through town. read more

This place was like Cheers meets the wild west. If you don't know anything about New Mexico liquor laws, they are SO WEIRD. This is one of the few places in town that is allowed to serve liquor (read: hard booze) so it's kind of a staple if you want a cocktail. In addition, they have two other nifty "attractions." There is a package store next door so if you need liquor to take home, it's not far! Also, there's the smoking bus. New Mexico also has SUPER WEIRD laws and ordinances regarding smoking. So, Win, Place, and Show has fought back and parked the smoking bus out front. Such a clever solution for their patrons and other passersby. This place was definitely nothing super special, but the drinks were affordable and the service was really good, especially considering there was only one bartender. read more

They won't let you order from 2 different bars which I get they're trying to cut down on over serving but the back bar should mirror the front bar if that's the case. Our bartender was a blast! Bartender asked our group for ID. My 53-year old wife didn't have hers. In New Mexico they can't serve you if they ask for an ID and you can't produce one. So wife couldn't be served. So we left. Stupid law, stupid bartender. No reason to ever go back. read more

This is a Ruidoso staple for sure! Perfectly divey are dark! The staff is super down to earth and friendly. We werent there at night on this particular trip, but the nighlife in the past has been really fun. They usually have a band, and they have a nice sized dance floor. My family owns a cabin in Ruidoso and we never come to town with out stopping here! This is definitely the place to be if you like live country music, cowboys, and a smoke free establishment! I absolutely love this place! The music, the dancing, the drinks, it's all on point! If you're not a fan of country music or cowboys, this may not be the spot for you.
