To echo a previous Yelper, "Damn, this really is a good haircut". I've paid 3X as much for haircuts that weren't this good. I have really fine & thick hair. It always falls flat & trying to get volume out of it is a nightmare. I look like a stereotypical heroin addict without a good haircut. Win slayed it. I was skeptical of all 5-star reviews at first, but I can safely say that Uyen delivers on men's haircuts with great service, styling, and quality for a price you can't find anywhere else! I called for a same-day appointment to make sure I could get a cut, but she accepts walk-ins as well. I was on the fence about how short to cut my hair, so Uyen jumped for a book of men's styles and quickly walked me through some options, including different lengths, styles, and the products I would need to achieve each look. In 5 min, I settled on something close to what I came in for, but with different ratios of side-to-top length (per her recommendation of course), and I couldn't be happier with my cut! All in all, I was in and out in about 30 min, at a price that's a steal for such custom service. Wash and rinse is available, and I saw some business cards for local men and women who are clients of Uyen. Note, Uyen's business is a chair in Khuan's Hair Design. The location seems super sketchy between a liquor store and a check cashing place, all next to the international discount grocery market; however, pay no attention to any of these! I've been going to Uyen since September and I've been really happy until last Tuesday. Made an appointment for 5pm as usual and went in there. She takes appointments in 30 minute increments so I guess each customer gets that. She aced my hair the last time I was there and told me to remember if she used the plastic or the metal trimmer next time, and that's what I did. She started cutting my hair as usual. Trimming with the machine on the sides and cutting between her fingers up top. She finishes in 15 mins and gives me the mirror to check it out. I looked and said exactly this: "Don't get me wrong I love it but this is how I want my hair to look in 10 days. Can you make it shorter?" She became super upset and said "Say it from the beginning next time so I don't have to do it again!" She had a pretty mean attitude in her voice. She got the trimmer back in her hand, switched to a shorter size and started trimming the sides. She was so upset that she started hitting the machine against my head right over my ear. I moved my head away with pain and that's when she noticed to say "Oo am I pushing to harsh? I'm sorry." I said "you don't have to cut my hair, remove this thing and I'll go. I don't want to force anyone to do something that they clearly are not enjoying." She said "I didn't finish it yet and there will be a line" so I stayed. I said nothing else, paid her with a card and walked out, never to come back again. I have three questions for her: - How many visits does it take you to remember what I want? - Why are you giving me the mirror to ask me if I like it or not if you'll be getting upset when I say no? - How can you show your anger in a physical manner on a paying customer who has been coming to you for the past 4 months? I was in my car at 5:25 PM and nobody else was waiting for her to feel rushed. So this is her first well deserved one star rating and I hope it'll be the last time she treats someone like this. read more

Uyen has been cutting my husband's hair for over a year. She does excellent work and I have begun having her cut my hair as well. Her new work location is very nice and even easier to get to from 285 than the last location. Uyen has a very pleasant demeanor and really listens to the customer's instructions on how they want their hair to look. I noticed plenty of good reviews by men, but Win also does a fantastic job on womens' hair too! I will never go back to a fancy salon, catered to over-charging women and selling them products they don't need. She did a beautiful job fixing the uneven, textured layers done from my old salon, and gave me good advice about getting my over-processed hair healthy again using natural products like olive oil. Uyen recently left Supercuts on Cobb Parkway where I found her about six years ago. Rather than have someone else cut my hair, I went a month longer than usual in between haircuts when I discovered that she was no longer there. I've gone to Win 6 times now, and 5/6 of those times I received an excellent haircut. However, one haircut was absolutely miserable. The top and bangs were cut too shot (worst possible mistake to make when cutting hair) and there wasn't much of a fade on the sides.
