My hair has grown so much and I LOVE my color. She's really great with knowing how to slightly change the color to match each season and she makes all of my Pinterest dreams come true each time I come in. My hair has gotten so much healthier and she always recommends the best products to go with my hair type, and she's so friendly it makes it so much fun every time I come in. I tried Bradley (owner) given his bio with Vidal Sassoon education. He was plenty nice. The cut was mediocre and was a little pricy. Get this - they hit me with Bradley only takes "cash" when I was checking out. I had to go to my bank to pay in cash - hello? Arn't we in America? I mean who does cash other than tips? They could have told me when I was making an appointment - no warning. Also it's a little weird making appointments because they don't have a centralized booking....EACH stylist makes their own appointments so good luck. I absolutely loved my experience and results here. I went to have tape-in extensions applied and I couldn't be happier. I have always had thin hair that had trouble growing past a certain length. When I had my consultation with Heather, my hair type, texture and color history were all taken into account. The installation itself only lasted about 40 minutes and this looks completely natural. She made sure to follow my hair part so tracks don't show and the number of times my friends/family who knew I was getting them told me that they looked like my real hair is countless. Stacy! Do yourself a favor and book with Stacy. When I moved to Atlanta 9.5 years ago, I thought it would be a good idea to go to a Van Michael's salon. I thought the more I paid, the better my hair would be. I was wrong. I suffered through 3 attempts of them making my blonde hair look like a Cheeto and then not being able to get rid of it. And it was so expensive. Why I went back, your guess is as good as mine. I was starting to lose hope on finding a new hair stylist in a new city. Then, on a wing and a prayer, I found Stacy. My first impression was that Stacy herself had beautiful hair, so I was immediately hopeful that she would know how to help the sins of the past. This time, I was right. For the past 9 years, Stacy and I have had a standing date every 6-8 weeks (half of 2020 excluded of course). In that time, she has made me platinum blonde, ashy blonde, she has low-lighted me, made me brunette, made me silver (that was fun), she's bayolaged me, toned me, brought me back to blonde, she has bobbed my hair off, grew it back out, she's put in layers, and I even had bangs for a little while. A lot has happened in nearly a decade and I'm confident that she could do anything else I dream up. She's been given the gift of knowing how to give women confidence through beautiful hair and LISTENING to what I want and making it a reality. Plus, her being a wonderful and sweet person to talk to doesn't hurt either. I should add that the prices here are very reasonable, especially compared to other salons. Even after I moved out to Johns Creek a few years ago, I still make the drive to Vinings regularly. I would post pictures (I have many) but aren't results subjective? I wanted to love this place, but it falls short in a few key areas. After a disastrous haircut in Dallas, TX, I hoped that Blowout could help me out. Unfortunately, after two visits, I've been left disappointed and looking elsewhere for my next cut. One of the first problems with Blowout is that they do not have a central reception to take bookings. Each stylist maintains his or her own schedule (which is fine) but there needs to be someone who can take calls and keep things organized. They have a front desk, but I'm not sure who staffs it. After an arduous booking process, I arrived and they seemed surprised to see me. I gave the person at the front desk my stylist's name, and she said "Uh, let me see if she's here" and wandered off. Umm... I hope she's here since I have an appointment. It seemed like I was bothering someone on a break rather than entering a professional salon with an attendant to help. After this odd introduction, I got my first haircut. To be polite, I do not want to name my stylist. She was friendly and tried to do a good job. However, she left my hair with a style I was not happy with, and promised that it would grow into looking better. I accepted this, but after three weeks, it still looked awkward. I went back for my next appointment and got more of the same. I had to give too much direction on what to do to make the cut look good. Part of why I pay more for a haircut is to have the expertise and advice of the stylist. I want him or her to look at my face and body and give me a hairstyle that fits, looks cohesive, and will age well. If I have to give all of the instructions, I might as well go to a budget salon. I want the stylist to notice things I don't, and offer suggestions that I might not even consider. Instead, mine spent about 20 minutes snipping away, and I had little to show for the extra money I paid. After two disappointing trips, I will not be back. I would recommend that this salon work on their scheduling and front desk situation. I would encourage the stylists to offer constructive input when requested, and make more of an effort. Even though I'm a guy with less work to do than a woman, you can still put in more than the absolute minimum to help me look my best. read more

This one won't be a novel, but here's what you need to know: Each of the stylists keeps a slightly different schedule at this convenient little salon. The main number can get you an appointment with pretty much anybody, but if you hit up their website, you can find your stylist's direct number. I visited with Cheryl, in need of just a little touch up and some easy, side-swept bangs to keep me lookin' fresh for my new environs. I explained what I was looking for, as well as my hair's idiosyncrasies, and she made some great recommendations and got the job done. She even offered that if I should need a quick bang touch up in the next few weeks, I could just roll on through. Sweet! Prices are reasonable, the atmosphere busy, but not overwhelmingly loud, and the location (a scant mile from my digs) can't be beat. Winning all around! read more

The atmosphere here was so much better when it was known as the Blowout Salon. While the new salon looks better, it is now more dog friendly than customer friendly. Janice however was amazing! After 3 years of The best colorist I know, I was happy to follow her over to Scott Richard's Salon. The vibe here is so much friendlier and much more relaxing. **As a response to the owner....I sat in a chair in your salon for 3 hours every 4-5 weeks for three years. Not once did you ever seem like an approachable person to anyone other than your own customers. As for writing two reviews in one day, what does it matter? But knowing I was staying with my stylist, a true review of your salon while I was still going there could have made my visits even worse. This review was based on the atmosphere of your salon and how it has changed since you opened the new one. The reason Janice is no longer there makes no difference to me. My review would still be the same even if she would have left on her own. read more

First of all, the salon experience is great. I called Friday afternoon and they gave me an appointment for Saturday morning just as I'd requested. As far as the haircut goes, I saw Stacy, and this is probably my favorite haircut I've ever had. It's easy to go in and show a picture, but sometimes when it's duplicated on you it looks silly. I visited Collective a Salon back in maybe October but just getting around to a review. I went for a simple cut and nothing fancy, but I left with a awesome new style and forever stylist. Alyssa was amazing she listened to me and took my hair from blah to WOW! Each stylist rents chairs I think, so I am not sure if prices are the same for everyone, but Alyssa was a fair price and worth every penny. It's a very warm comfy vibe for all ages with great products for all hair types. Alyssa sold me on the L'Oréal master hair products and I can't go a day without them and little goes a long way. I am going back next week for a cut and color so I will update post visit. read more

Thank god for Amarie. I went to the Aveda Institute to get my roots touched up and a toner put on my blonde hair-10 hrs, 2 instructors, and 2 "advanced" students later, I'd gone from gorgeous long blonde hair to my hair breaking off bleached twice and toned twice. It ended up clear at the roots to then "root shadow" (which turned out to be stripes all over my head that wouldn't go away) and sad brown hair. I've never been more pissed. AND I still had to pay over $100. I called Amarie who I've always had cut my hair and she was able to cut off all the dead hair and make it look HEALTHY! How?! I don't even know but her deep conditioner and cuts are amazing. Going back tomorrow to fix the color. SO thankful for her caring about the condition of my hair and being able to safely work through this without compromising it further!!!! read more

This is just a review of my experience with Stacy coloring my hair, not of the entire salon. I've been blonde for about 3 years now but have yet to find an amazing colorist (if you know of any please let me know!!). Who knew going blonde would have been this much of a nightmare?! Anyways, I was looking for a salon near my work and Blowout was highly rated. I looked through the pictures online and saw Stacy mentioned a few times. Made an appointment with her for full highlights. I should have just walked out when she made an off-hand comment about me not wanting to pay for a cut and style with them. I have the easiest hair cut in the world and I hate getting my hair styled. I really do not see a need to pay $40-something for it. But I stuck around. She did an OK job my first visit. She did the color I asked for but I could see my roots still - especially in the back of my head and underneath near my neck. I thought maybe it was just a fluke so I did not say anything. I scheduled a second hair appointment several weeks later. The color on the middle/end of my hair looks great but again you can see my roots! Same thing as before - the front of my head towards my face has no roots showing but the back of my head and underneath is horrible. From what I can see she does not do that many foils compared other colorists I have seen. You can see the large gaps in between the blonde lowlights/highlights and my natural hair color. I mentioned it to her a few days later and that I would like it to be fixed but then she replied back that you'll indeed see roots being blonde and it just means less maintenance. Really? A) If what you say is true, why do I not see any of my natural hair color near the front of my head? B) I don't care about maintenance! I have no issue forking over money for hair color. I just want all of my hair to look great if I am indeed paying for *full* highlights. I did not even reply back and I am on my quest again to find a great colorist :( read more

Cheryl is a miracle worker!! The color of my hair was horrifying. I had been coloring my hair for over 20 years with those boxes. I just got tried of it looking so fake. I just moved here from Florida 2 weeks ago and figured I've spent so much money on everything else, why not me for once. I never write bad reviews, but since this salon has nothing but good reviews, I thought my experience would be important to add here. Janice was my stylist. She was nice and sat down with me to find a hairstyle together - a shoulder-length cut with long layers. I excepted a good experience from this bright beginning, but this is not what I got. Before getting into the cut, let's discuss the price.The cut came to $65 - just a trim, and no blow-dry. The cut was expensive, but I will get a pricey cut without complaint if it is good. You can see where this review is headed. The reason I cannot have my hair blown dry because of a physical limitation. I mention this disability every where I go get my hair done. Most salons take off a few bucks ($5-10) because of this. I also usually get seated in a quieter part of the salon. Not here. Onto the haircut. I mentioned that I did not want a lot taken off, that my hair grew very slowly and that I needed my hair to cover my ears/hearing aid - and that it took me months to get it as long as it was. I wanted a trim. My last trim was less than one month ago, so I knew I did not need a lot off. I mentioned all of this to her. Janice ended up taking off 3 INCHES. I saw the hair coming off and went home and measured to be sure. Not only did she cut of 3 inches; she also cut very short layers that made my hair look goofy. They were uneven - not stylish uneven, but awkward uneven. She assured me that my hair would go into a pony tail - guess what doesn't go into a pony tail anymore? She assured me my hair would cover my ears/hearing aid - guess what my hair does NOT cover? The "layers" looked nothing like the photograph we agreed on. I walked into work the next day and got two comments about my hair. The first one was sympathetic - "The humidity is just awful, isn't it? Don't worry; everyone's hair looks like a mess!" The second one was blatant - "You can always ask me if you want to know a good hair stylist in the area." I am not making this up. These comments came completely out of the blue! This is when you KNOW your hair stylist butchered your locks. Worst haircut I ever received - third priciest - I will never go back. read more

I have been getting my hair cut by Brad, the salon owner, for over 19 years. I used to live in Vinings, and this was the first place I got my hair cut after moving to GA. My hair has not been cut elsewhere simply because when it's done well, why look elsewhere? Twice in this time frame, I needed my hair cut with short notice, and Brad was either out of town or no time slots were available within my narrow window of time available. Brad immediately was able to accommodate my needs with one of his other stylists. Both times my hair was cut great--I even teased Brad that the competition under his roof was stiff. He laughed. I moved to Roswell in 2004 and continue to drive through ATL traffic to get my hair cut. Brad has not only been great for conversation, but he has also been an amazing source of information for fine dining and entertainment here in Atlanta. I consider him a friend.
