My friend recommended Scott Richards to me after I mentioned I was looking for a color stylist who was good. I have brown hair and it had been a while since I had highlights. I was thinking I wanted balayage, but wasn't sure what technique - just wanted to overall brighten my look. I was encouraged after reading such positive reviews and I must say, Scott Richards does not disappoint. Scott used a technique of foil, hair teasing and darkened the prior color treatment that was still on my ends. He really took time to get it perfect. I can see now why everyone loves him! I found Scott a year ago when I moved here and stuck with him ever since because let me tell you, he's the best hair stylist I've ever had! I get routine full and partial highlights and haircuts with Scott every couple months. Even when I want to dial down the blonde slightly for fall, or lighten it up for the summer, Scott is flawless at making minor to major changes. And he always makes sure I leave completely happy. I've been going to Scott's salon for Many years. Cheyne is my stylist. Cheyne has been styling and cutting my hair for 20+years and would never let any one else color my hair . Needed a new stylist being fairly new to the area and wanted someone close to home. Saw great reviews for Scott and thought I would give him a shot. I arrived on time, he started promptly by offering me some Aveda hot tea (divine!!) and a scalp massage prior to shampooing me (pure bliss!!). We chatted for a while about what I wanted done, although I thought I was ready for bangs he talked me out of it. I love a stylist who isn't afraid to tell you something won't look good with the shape of your face. We talked a good bit about the Aveda products but I never felt pressured to buy anything. Prices are reasonable for the level of expertise you get (~$50 for women, ~$30 for men, for cuts) Scott listens to what you want and then lets his creativity run with it. Located in a small shopping plaza on Atlanta Rd near Jack's New Yorker Deli, Scott Richard's Salon is a local business that has been at this location for about 4 years. The receptionist is always smiling and friendly offering coffee, tea, or water when you walk through the doors. The owner and stylists are always welcoming, as well. Scott was able to schedule me for an appointment on shorter-than-usual timing for a vacation over the 4th of July week. I had not had a hair cut during the COVID pandemic, so my hair was long and unruly. I have been going to Scott Richard's salon for about 2 years now. I've always been super pleased with the price and the service. However, 2 weeks ago I went in with a request for a drastic change. I went from long hair to a pixie cut and I couldn't be happier! Scott spent a lot of time on the cut, to get it just right. He did not disappoint. My family and friends were "wowed," as was I! I have gotten compliments from strangers on my haircut at the gas station and the grocery store! Can you imagine how great it feels for someone who's never seen you before to say, "I LOVE your haircut!"? It has been wonderful! I found this salon b/c it was open on Sunday (although I made my appt for Wedn). The receptionist is so sweet and friendly. Scott, the owner, was incredibly friendly. The stylist, Netty, did amazing work on my ombre color. It was about $160+tip for my ~3in longer than shoulder-length hair, about 2.5hrs, and I think my desired color required a little more time. I thought it was very reasonably priced considering the outcome (and I get my hair cut at great clips). Netty was very friendly and fun to talk to. She talked me through the steps and was incredibly detail-oriented and PATIENT with the process. She even taught me some great tips for working with my hair. My hair wasn't damaged after the coloring. They only use Aveda products. I LOVE my hair, it looks very NATURAL and the new color frames my face. I will be back for all my color needs! read more

I have definitely found a gem of a salon! Naturally I want my hair to look and feel great, and Scott has a unique gift in being able to 'read' my waves and cowlicks that can make getting the right cut a challenge to many other hairdressers! He also has a great eye and technique with color and highlighting... I am thrilled with my short do for the first time in a long time... But... in addition to all that, I also like a salon that feels like 'home' vs a business that churns out clients... All said, things that appealed to me as soon as I walked in the door - clean, nicely decorated and well organized, relaxed and friendly staff and atmosphere... No feeling that I was ever being rushed around from one station to another... One stylist from start to finish so I really felt like my hair was being noticed in all stages of the process and how it was going to respond for ME on a daily basis as well, not just how well it would respond when a professional was working with it :-D How do you say this salon has WOW power except just that?!?
