I used a kitchen designer from another state who I've worked with before, and there were several details that hadn't been worked out prior to Augustus Construction starting the project. Covid-19 complicated the work even further with delays both for the cabinets and the appliances. During the time most of the work was being done, I was out-of-state but could see from the outdoor security cameras that workers were on-site first completing the demo, and then preparing the space for the cabinets & appliances. Brian stayed in contact with me when any questions or issues came up, but for the most part he and his team handled everything on-site. I returned to the Cape in late July for the first time since the project began and was very happy to not only see most of the construction was complete, but more importantly, that every issue that I had mentioned during the planning stage and afterwards had been addressed in a way that exceeded my expectations. When I've worked with other contractors in the past, usually things get done the 'easy' way for the contractor rather than what the client wants, especially if the client isn't on-site overseeing the work. Brian & his team paid attention to the finishing details, and from my experience, that hasn't been a common quality of other contractors I've worked with. But best of all, everything was done as perfectly as possible, and I didn't have to beg, plead, or harass anyone to return to finish the job. The job was 100% completed and I'm 100% satisfied.

I needed to have the roof replaced on the estate house within 30 days for insurance purposes. I contacted Vaz Construction and was connected with Elijah DeSouzs as my project manger. He was the best. Kept in touch with me on a timely basis, always on time for on-site appointments, knowledgeable about the roof products and friendly and kind. We were able to get the job done within my time frame. The roofing crew worked from morning until night and they were great! They left no mess or debri in the yard. If you need any construction work done, call Vaz and ask for Elijah. You won't be sorry.

What started off seeming like a good company, ended up not being so good. No communication, lack of…read moreurgency, no attention to detail always a different person on the job which caused a-lot of problems. One guy would be there for three days and then someone new would show up and have no clue what the last guy did. One of the employees painted the bathroom walls without even wiping the walls down after sanding. What a mess and it had to all be redone, which I am sure would not have happened if I did not complain. At one point, I had to tell the project manager that I did not want anyone in my home until I met with him. The lack of craftsmanship, and integrity was upsetting to say the least. Who puts kitchen cabinets in before painting??? Once the job was complete, it took Vaz Construction another month to come back and finish the things that were not completed. Overall the experience was very disappointing, even more-so with the amount of money they charged us for their sub par work.

Paul came to my home last fall to repair a roof leak. He diagnosed the problem, ran it by me, did…read morethe work and I paid him that day cash. I returned from our annual FL trip to find a fair amount of ceiling damage, the leak obviously was not properly fixed. In late May I called Paul. Turns out they are too busy to talk on the phone and they prefer email. I wasted quite a bit of time going back and forth in email being convinced I would have to wait in spite of the fact my roof was still leaking. I waited a month, reached out again, and was reminded that he was still too busy to talk to me. Now it's 3 months later. Numerous recent calls and emails and no response at all. He did a poor job initially and now refuses to own it. So if you are looking for someone who is reliable, responsible, responsive, and easy to work with you should look elsewhere, Paul Johnson is not your guy. He wasted 3 months of my time and now I am scrambling to find someone to clean up his previous work.
