Since GotJunk charges by volume, not by (e.g.) weight or time, this probably, to be honest, wasn't the most efficient or cost-effective use of their services -- but that's our fault, if anyone's, not theirs; the pricing schedule was clearly explained to us up front before any work was done and we agreed to it. In the past, I've used GotJunk to clean out an apartment of nine years of accumulated cruft prior to a cross-country move and in *that* instance they were absolute lifesavers, again, because they showed up right on time, were fast, efficient, and cheerful.

I was impressed that company policy is to send out a scout ahead of time to get an accurate and detailed first hand look at the project so as to be adequately prepared on the day of service. On the day of service, they arrived on time in very professional vehicles (trailer, pickup truck, van). The 3 young men (intelligent college students) plus the foreman of the project, were courteous, professional, & conscientious. They were respectful of the property and removed items with care, even though the items were slated for destruction/donation. They were quick, they didn't fool around or stand around smoking, they were polite and did not curse, they didn't take a break until they were almost done (I offered them lunch). They finished ahead of schedule and cleaned up any debris or trash that fell during the moving process. The entire project from start to finish went off without a hitch. The only caution I would offer is to be aware that paying with a credit card (instead of cash or check) includes a service fee, which is clearly stated on the pre-estimate contract prior to agreeing to book the service. I had a 2-4pm slot, naturally I had all my belongings pretty much bagged up and ready to go so I sat on my phone 2-3:30 with no contact from them. Finally texted the customer service line asking for an ETA, Rebekah very helpfully let me know she contacted the owner and they should be in touch shortly. Waited another 20 minutes/ until it hit 4pm and decided to call and ask again. After speaking with her on the phone Rebekah again helpfully contacted the owner and let me know they were on their way to me but running late and should call momentarily. They did call at about 4:10 and let me know they were running late and stuck in traffic, it would be an additional 45 minutes to get to me from Woburn. I am totally understanding of the inevitability of afternoon traffic however it would have been nice to know earlier that they wouldn't be headed towards me until after the appointment window was up, some notification that they were running behind would've been nice. They finally arrive at about 5:15, give me a quote for $480 saying I had about 2 pickup trucks worth of stuff (see attached photo for approximately how much stuff I had, in addition to a full sized mattress that is not shown). I said that works, they cleared everything out in about 25 minutes and were on their way. Overall the wait/lack of heads up was pretty annoying but they got the job done quickly once they finally got here. I do really appreciate Rebekah's friendliness and helpfulness in finding out what was going on and that is part of why I gave them 4 stars rather than 3.
