I will not be going back here. I had a nonviable pregnancy and knew that something was wrong. During my ultrasound, I asked multiple times to see the image of my child and was refused. When I called to verify that I may not have this experience again, I was told that I would likely have that happen again due to their standard practice. I get that some people would be extremely traumatized seeing that but it was my only chance to see my daughter in my womb and it was taken from me. read more

I do not recommend this office for prenatal care. I was reluctant to go here because of their horrible reviews but didn't have many options as this is the only office in Winchester that accepts my insurance and I was hoping to give birth at WMC. Getting scheduled was very difficult and the front desk staff seemed rude and inconsiderate through the phone. When we actually visited the office, the front desk seemed to be nicer in person, but I do recognize that I was probably speaking to another woman on the phone. I did not have to wait long to get called back from the waiting room, which was nice. Once in a room, I was greeted by Grace and she was incredibly friendly and got the doctor for me when I started asking questions. Grace was also very helpful is making sure my information was correct. They did not give me any description of what my first appointment would entail so I was surprised to not receive an ultrasound. When I questioned this, I was, rather rudely questioned on why I hadn't received previous care at 20 weeks pregnant. I was shocked by this question as I had been receiving care from the Front Royal Pregnancy Center. I had been seen by the nurses there since I was 7 weeks pregnant and had my records transferred to this office. I did later find out that one of my ultrasounds from the Pregnancy Center did get sent to the wrong office but I still felt this didn't excuse the intrusive question. It was embarrassing to have to explain to my doctor that my husband and I are financially struggling and I didn't have health insurance or transportation to get to my appointment up until recently. I was seen by the Nurse Practicioner, Brittany. After I reluctantly explained myself, she almost won me over by asking what she could do to help ease my anxiety. As a first time mom, I was already upset and stressed with this office. She did let us listen to the heartbeat, which eased my anxiety a bit. I was asked to fill out the paperwork and was shocked to see intrusive and unrelated questions on said paperwork. Apparently, I scored pretty high on their scale for depression. I then felt pressured to be seen by a mental health professional. I am not depressed but due to my answers to questions such as, "Have you been sleeping well?" and "Have you felt stressed lately?", they must've decided that I was. I had to reiterate multiple times that I was not depressed and did not want to see a mental health professional. I feel most first time pregnant mothers probably aren't sleeping great and due to our financial troubles and difficulty in finding care, I had been stressed out. That does not mean I'm depressed. I appreciate them checking in but again, I felt pressured. When leaving the room, I was asked to carry my own pee to the bloodwork station. I sat in the chairs outside of the rooms for probably a half hour, holding my pee while waiting for somebody to call us back to get my blood drawn. Finally, a lovely nurse/doctor walked by and noticed me holding my own pee and took it from me while apologizing. At this point, I was feeling frustrated and incredibly anxious. The wonderful woman who took my blood must've sensed this and helped me to feel a bit better by making me laugh. I wish I knew her name and I'd give her 5 stars alone if I could. She was very informative about the blood tests and kind. I left this office feeling more insecure and anxious than I ever have throughout my pregnancy. We will be transferring to WVU OBGYN for care after my next appointment. I am only going to my next appointment because we still do not know if we are having a boy or a girl, as the Pregnancy Center can't give out this information and my next appointment is an ultrasound. The only reason this review is two stars and not one is because of Grace and the woman who took my blood. I was also happy with the cleanliness of the rooms and office. read more

I arrived BEFORE my appointment time and signed in per the sign in sheet with my arrival time listed, waited 20 mins and went upfront to ask if id be seen soon. to which the told me I wasn't here on time (they crossed me off the list like I'd been seen already), I showed them check in sheet and instead of apologizing the receptionist called me a liar. She had a major attitude. even tho the person above me on the list checked in at 1:51, I checked in at 1:54, and the person after me at 1:57. I am an established patient and they would not see my for post IVF labs. In fact they wouldn't even see me until I had a positive pregnancy test and confirmation sonogram. Where am I supposed to go for that if my OB won't do that? My primary care provider can't see me for these test and stated that it routine OBGYN care and suggested I find somewhere else if they can't even provide basic services. read more

If you are a woman and you care about your health you should definitely read this. I went in for a visit this morning regarding my IUD, the appointment has been scheduled for a month because that's the earliest they could see me, even for emergency's. I went to the emergency room the other night because half of my IUD fell out.. so I get to my appointment late this morning so I had to reschedule, automatically the nurse was very rude and nasty about me being late, everytime I spoke about my IUD being removed at the next appointment she talked over me repeating the fact that I was late and that she read my notes from the ER; she claimed they said it was "in tact" and I'm fine. So I rescheduled, rode around the hospital and got my X-ray results and notes stating my IUD is in fact broken and needs to be removed. I took it back to the nurse, in tears, and explained there had to be a mix up earlier because here's my papers, I presented the papers, she continued to read the paragraph and STILL said I'm just not reading it right and im fine, she TOSSED my X-ray disk back at me and said "we can't view this anyway so here" then she proceeded to call SECURITY on me because I was trying to explain what the ER doctor said and when she kept being extremely rude I wrote her name down and she screamed "DONT LOOK AT MY NAME TAG" and instructed the other nurse to call security. The way I'm explaining it sounds so much nicer than the way the interaction went and yes I called her boss and requested she view the video footage from the office. I've NEVER had an experience like that from a doctors office. Even as I'm in tears begging to notate my appointment so next time it gets taken care of, this woman is screaming at me about being late. I even told her I'm not demanding an appointment today! I told her I just wanted to make sure my next appointment goes correctly. I would not go here unless you need prenatal care. They give best care on that. We women know our body and he just didn't want to hear like he was in my body. Makes it even worse is when I try to express myself (about how I feel about the situation)I am shut down!The office manager won't call me back because I'm discharged from the program since February 28th the day of my appointment(I did talk to her once after my appointment but didn't know I was discharged from the program until I received the letter in the mail she didn't even say anything). At this point I kind of want publicly just for some support something And then I was shut down again I feel that I can not Express my feelings anywhere (good or bad) but inside how I feel about the situation. My aunt was in the hospital and they advised me to make an appointment with this practice to follow up. I called to schedule the appointment. They advised me that they take her primary insurance but not her secondary insurance. I told them that was fine we had no problem paying the 20% either before billing or after. She stated that they could not see her due to not taking her 2nd insurance. I reiterated that I did not have a problem paying the remainder after her primary insurance. She stated no they would not see her. I asked them about their oath to see patients. She stated that doesn't get them paid. Do not go to these people. They don't care about patient even PAYING ONES. If they keep turning patient's away, they won't have a business anymore. These people aren't doctors. We found a physician that actually cares about their patients. read more

Although they seemed friendly at first, I have since found them to be quite incompetent and or lazy, both of which, I feel could be a very dangerous combination. They were unable to communicate properly or to refill a simple medication in an accurate, polite and timely fashion. Upon interviewing my friends about their experiences, I have also heard failure to provide necessary medications needed to sustain fetus and maternal health. After 9 months of going to all my obgyn appointments, knowing the sex at the 18weeks & asking them tons of questions about the hospital what did I need to know etc. Circumcision was never mentioned once, I didn't know anything about it. I hadn't researched it and didn't know it was done to newborns. He was born saturday night and no one was there sunday. monday morning they were rushing everything to discharge me. The doctor wasn't transparent about the procedure and told me he might need it later & It would be worse the longer I waited. The gauze which was supposed to stay on a few days fell off as soon as they brought him back and the nurse opened the diaper. The nurse said "oh whatever it doesn't matter, just keep putting vaseline on his diaper". I did this, I followed the horrible and minimal instructions I was given. His scar keeps reattaching to the head of his penis! They never told me this was a possibility (very likely possiblity) or that I needed to pull it back. Had I been informed that there was a chance of death or reattachment or psychological damage due to pain level I NEVER WOULD HAVE CONSENTED. I feel tricked and lied to. read more

The visit was fine. It was a week and a half later when I went to pick up my birth control that the problem started. I called and left a voicemail asking them to please refill it, given it was a Saturday I assumed they'd call me first thing Monday morning. I was wrong. I repeatedly called and kept getting the voicemail until I finally decided that I would leave another, more stern voicemail asking to please refill my birth control. And again, no response. I then called the "schedule an appointment" line and finally was able to talk to an actual human. Ashley was very nice and helpful and told me it had been refilled. About 2 hours later I get a call from my doctors medical assistant trying to get my information to finally take care of it, but it had already been taken care of. My Doctors medical assistant made it seem like she never got a call/voicemail from me by rudely saying "We are closed on Saturdays" which obviously I knew that and that's why I had left a voicemail, figuring they'd call but obviously not. I have been going to Winchester Womens Specialists since I was 16 years old. Now I am 28 and on my second pregnancy. I love this office! All of the staff (receptionists, lab techs, check out) are super friendly and personable. They make conversation and you can tell they really care about your well-being. The doctors are off the charts! They are friendly, show compassion, and they take the time to answer all of your questions even if they are really busy. I wouldn't think of going to another office because this one is perfect! Yes, they are a busy office and sometimes there is waiting, but this is the same for most doctor's offices. Also - if you thought you had a UTI why would you go to a specialist? I think that going to a Med Express or Urgent Care would suffice, especially since UTI's should be cured right away. read more

I know being in Winchester that quality of care specialists is slim-pickings. That's the price you pay for living in a beautiful area with an affordable cost of living. This practice came highly recommended and I needed to find someone local to oversee my latest pregnancy. I made an appointment with Winchester Women's Specialists and with another, lesser known, facility with all midwives for the same day so I could decide which direction of care I wanted to go in for this pregnancy given I am of advanced maternal age and it comes with its share of risks. To contrast the two, I received a full hour of consult with the midwife facility. With WWS I arrive and the waiting area is relatively quiet, not one smile or welcome from the front desk staff- they actually looked pissed off and preoccupied. I fill out some paperwork and was called back pretty soon after I sat down to fill out the paperwork. I took my unfinished paperwork to the back with me to finish where a very nice, professional, and slightly more friendly nurse took my stats and went briskly through a standard questionnaire. When we were through she brought me to an office where I don't recall being introduced, but I assume the other lady behind the desk was a doctor. While she was also professional and friendly she spoke SO FAST I could barely understand what she was saying. I immediately felt like I was being rushed so she could move on to her next patient. After asking if I had any questions I just asked if I could hear the baby's heartbeat for a little extra reassurance. She said, of course! and took me back to the room I was in for my stats. She pulled out a hand held Doppler, applied the gel, and held the Doppler on my belly for all of maybe 10 seconds, heard a nice strong heartbeat, and snapped off her gloves briskly. That's it?? Wham, Bam, thank you ma'm. I just didn't feel the love, just lots of worrisome testing recommendations due to my age. I was then told to wait in a mini waiting area outside the office for a nurse to come schedule additional testing. I sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting and eventually someone saw me and ushered me to the front desk to check out. I figured this is just the way it was going to be at this practice. This appointment was just too abrupt and clinical, not at all what I was expecting from an initial consult. The other facility I was at earlier had a lady arrive unexpectedly in labor right before my appointment, contractions 4 minutes apart. I got 3 times more attention and support from them than I feel like I got from this place. I'm not slamming this place, I just don't feel like it's as amazing as I was lead to believe by other women who have come here. Maybe I saw the wrong doctor, maybe I caught the front desk staff on an off day, maybe I just set my expectations too high, lol. I'm really glad I didn't put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak, and have another option to fall back on. If you're coming here for the first time, don't expect to be blown away. Set your expectations low and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

I was having SEVERE abdominal pain and the VERY rude receptionist told me that my doctor said to wait a week and see if it got better. I stressed to her how much pain I was in and she smarted me off and said, "My suggestion to you would be to go to the ER then." That's just where I went. Found out I may require surgery. I came so far out of my way distance wise to have my baby checked on due very soon to get here 20 minutes late as if I could control traffic or had any clue what that was going to be going through Winchester coming from so far being my first visit here as a new patient transferring from elsewhere. I offered to wait for hours in their office for an opening or cancellation even. It was a hassle for me to get here and they couldn't be the slightest bit understanding at Christmas time, too. Worst of all. Upset because I was really excited to try this place but will not be returning due to their ignorance during Christmas time to be able to check on my child is my only present and failure to let me know of their policy. The girl Samantha at the desk is beyond rude and does not help you get absolutely anywhere in terms of progress. I hope they have the Christmas they deserve. read more

I waited three weeks for my appointment. I was having Uti like symptoms, and they were getting pretty severe. I made sure to plan this appointment before I left for the next two months to Italy. I arrived at 9am, and was told that my appointment was moved to 10:30. That's fine. I arrived at 10:20, and waited until 10:45 only to be told that my insurance wasn't going through. Thats sweet of them to wait until the last minute to inform me of this. Since it was 15 minutes past my appointment time I was going to have to reschedule. It was either pay 150$ + other fees to be seen then, or reschedule in 2 months. How about no. How about I never return there again? Sounds like a plan. PS. I called Novant Health Lake Manassas Obgyn, and they were very concerned about me being checked out before my travels. They squeezed me in the next day. I've had both of my daughters with this team of doctors and am very pleased with both experiences. Especially love Karen and Sarah (the midwives) and Dr. Nashed. They were all very patient and understanding and allowed us to ha e the birth experience we wanted within reasonAdditionally they were understanding about a tricky insurance situation and able to work with us to make it easier on our end. I do not recommend this office at all. I chose this office over the other major obgyn in the area because they do in-office ultrasounds and are right at the hospital. I liked their online presence and all in all, prior to coming in, I felt they were professional and a modern office. Boy was I mistaken. I had 3 appointments at this office. I ended up spending two hours in a little room waiting to talk to a doctor. The staff does not listen and the doctors show little care in their practice. During one of the worst times of my life this office made me feel worse. I will never set foot in there again! I signed up for Yelp just to say this. That's how unhappy I am. read more

Do not waiste your time with them !! I called to make an appointment for my first prenatal visit and they told I had to go online and fill out all their forms on their patient portal and that they would call me afterwards to schedule appointment . I did exactly that and a week later I called them because they had not called me . The lady said that they did not have my forms when on their patient portal I had confirmation that I had already submitted them . The lady was like I don't know what you want me to tel you . She told me to fill them out again or to print them and drop them off but that they needed them before I could schedule any appointment . She made me so angry because I had already waisted two weeks trying to get an appointment with them . I hung up on the lady and called an OB in Leesburg and was able to get an appointment for this week . I tried calling Winchester OBGYN for two weeks also . It seems the doctors here in Winchester do not care what so ever . If I did not live near to Winchester I would not even have called these two offices ! DO NOT WAISTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM ! read more
