Apparently, there is a shortage of flowers, especially the ones I needed for the centerpieces. My friend recommended Sochockis. If you've ever been to Eastern Market, Sochocki's is set up in the main shed. Steve, the owner, has the most stunning flowers you'll ever see! He is there on Saturdays & Sundays. Steve is a miracle worker...he arranged for a special delivery of blue hydrangeas & white roses for my centerpieces. He literally saved me hundreds of dollars and even offered to make them for me, If needed. He showed me a few tricks of the trade arranging the centerpieces. Steve is amazing & the centerpieces were stunningly beautiful! Thank you Steve! If you ever need something special, these flowers are the highest quality. You will have flowers that last for weeks.

I have used Monroe Florist for birthdays, funerals, my own wedding (in which I carried specialty flowers), Easter and prom corsages, Christmas centerpieces and; most importantly, sending my mother her favorite single flower-the gardenia. Gardenias are difficult to find year round and need to be shipped in--Eva always finds the perfect blooms. Monroe Florist is *MY* florist and I don't even live in Michigan!! I was pretty flexible in my requests, wanted primarily for the floral colors to tie into my wedding day as a thematic accent. The staff was responsive throughout the planning process and requested fabric swatches in order to best match the wedding colors. On my big day, I was pleased with the overall effect of the arrangements. The colors were perfect; exactly what I was looking for. They photographed beautifully! I teetered between giving 3 and 4 stars here... I feel like cost/value was reasonable for the product. Unfortunately, I had to remove one star for quality/craftsmanship, as our bouquets were falling apart pretty badly after minimal handling. Several flowers were falling out of the bride bouquet following the ceremony. The stems also came loose from the plastic bases in making simple posing for photographs quite difficult in the end.
