We will certainly avoid this hotel forever and I will also avoid IHG hotels whenever possible. This company really needs to read up on the term Customer Service. We are not there for their benefit.

If you're next to loud kids or a barking dog you're in for a bad night. The room was pretty gross. On the surface it looked fine but then as I took a closer look at the beds I saw the sheets were extremely worn from overuse and that my pillow cases had make up on them. They were everywhere, getting into our food and beverage. One was discovered in the refrigerator. They were all over the bathroom: on the mirror, walls, shower, and toilet. I voiced my complaints. A different room was offered. The desk clerk informed me that these pests are "all over," including at the check-in counter. I have multiple red, itchy marks on my extremities. I believe the bugs bit me. Eating in the room and taking part in the continental breakfast made me nervous. A couple traveling from out-of-state said they noticed flying bugs in the breakfast area. I placed several cola, sweetened coffee, and sugar water covered containers and cups in the bed and bathroom. The cups had many, many drowned pests. The evidence was shown to the desk clerk. I spoke with another hotel guest who said the flying bugs were also in his room. Several guests who attended the church service also said they noticed numerous bugs flying around in the event room and landing on their food: "Yes, they're all over the room." 2. The event room was next to our room. There was a very large gathering of folks hosting a church service for 6 hours. The music was very loud with bongos and other instruments. We were assigned the room right adjacent to this event. With bongos and other instruments, the music was really loud. I voiced my displeasure with the loud noise. Every Sunday, the church has a service there, according to the desk clerk. I then questioned why I wasn't given the option to decide if I wanted to remain close to an event with so much noise. I didn't get a satisfactory response. 3. There was a problem with the microwave. It was replaced by the housekeeping staff. The replacement microwave did not work either. It would not open. We gave up. 4. The shower and sink had stains, and the bathroom was dirty. The walls were filthy. I discussed this with the housekeeper. To which she said, "Yes, we know." 5. There is mold and leakage on the ceiling just outside our room. 6. The lampshade has a big tear hole and is dusty and unclean. 7. The charging power port at the bed's left side was inoperable. What a terrible experience. We need a remedy.

We were incredibly excited. Coming home, I felt like I had been tricked out of my money. Our room was not ready when we arrived at check-in time. They scrambled to get the champagne and roses ready, ruining the surprise for my fiancée. The spa was consistently unclean: dirty towels left on furniture, stepping over empty glasses and cups everywhere, and the men's locker room looked like no one had attended it all day. They were very expensive, yet mediocre, and my massage therapist talked during most of it about himself. It was not a relaxing experience. Every place we ate at the resort was overpriced and also mediocre. During our second day, my fiancée had stomach issues due to the food we had eaten. So we were unable to attend our wine tour. When I explained this to management, and tried to get a refund for the tour (or at least a credit), we had to again play many phone games before being told nothing would be done. The lack of customer service, especially for the level of service we were expecting and paying for at a "luxury" resort, is truly the most disappointing aspect of Chateau Elan. Please!! Expired Dairy Products: They are actively serving milk that is 3 to 4 days past its expiration date. Month-Old Specialty Items: They are using Starbucks-branded products and concentrates that are over a month expired. The Indian ownership running this establishment is choosing profit over human safety. Serving spoiled dairy and constantly recycling old food can cause severe food poisoning, vomiting, and dehydration. Looks new on the outside but a little bit rundown on the inside. Staff was OK not overly friendly. We had two rooms for the family. The air conditioning didn't work grade and one in the bathrooms in both were OK just not clean. The beds seem to be clean so that was important. They were going to grab breakfast at the hotel before they left, but it was a very sad continental breakfast even ran out of coffee and didn't have time to wait so they went to Waffle House across the street. Although I didn't stay there myself, Holiday ends are just not on my list and this one lives up to the reputation that I've now associated with the chain.
