I can't share how excited I am about the new windows. I didn't fully understand the contract in the beginning, specifically that "painting or preparation for painting " is not included. What this means is that after they put the window in, there might be some small gaps or damage to Sheetrock, where it's not quite ready to be painted without some Sheetrock mud and sanding. After I reread the contract, and fully processed it, I was ready to move on. There were a few minor issues such as the wrong screens coming in, a window that broke during transit, and the wrong roller, but we were able to come up with a solution for everything. It's not a high profit operation, so they don't just throw cash at you such as some larger companies, when there's a mistake, but each solution was fair to all involved. The reason I went with Window King is because they're the only authorized distributor of Okna products in our area, and those were the only slider windows where both sashes move and pop out. This makes it easy to replace the sash if something breaks, and it also allows for easy cleaning of my second story windows. I am truly amazed by the color accuracy, light transmission, and lack of heat transmission of these windows. In the past, there would be a warm spot on the carpet where the sun spot hit. Now, the sun spot is the same temperature as the surrounding area. According to the stickers, there's almost have the light coming in, but they are so much easier to clean, that the amount of light actually feels higher than the awning windows I replaced. They are easy to operate, look great, and come with a lifetime warranty. The pricing is extremely reasonable for what you get. This Review Balances the Previous 5 Star Review I Don't Know How to Edit Very nice people with fine product but they dropped a stitch and then stopped communicating with us. They failed to tell us how much work we would have to do to to protect the fair amount of bare wood left exposed after the new windows were in. It was too close to winter hitting for us to get to it; we have a few disappointing hours of completely unexpected work to do in the spring. They also could have done a better job caulking the gaps. If Luis, the owner, had stayed in touch I would have also told him the crew left a fair number of nails and screws scattered about that we didn't see before they left. It was no big deal but could have easily led to a flat tire. If it were my company, I'd have a policy where we paid the homeowner $5 for every screw or nail they found before we left the job, and dock the crew's pay. It's hardly a huge fine but sets the high standard I expected from the crews who worked for me over the decades. read more

I found Window King on Yelp when trying to find a decent retailer of replacement windows (because they're usually brutally honest), and Window King was near the top of the list. Louis was quick to respond and set up an appointment to look at my windows. He was prompt and was able to quickly measure out what I needed, answering all the questions I had along the way while providing a lot of information I wouldn't have thought to ask. He provided a price for multiple window options on the spot, and every time I thought of a new option combination, he would have it e-mailed to me within the hour. I really appreciated his honest assessments, as he didn't try to upsell me to more expensive products/options I wouldn't have needed. I then needed to research the window, and found that he sold an excellent vinyl window when compared to other products on the market. Go ahead, look up Okna 400 and 500 series and you'll find them to be ranked among the best to buy in terms of all around quality for the cost. And the cost was excellent, easily beating all other top rated window companies I asked! Pricing was transparent and easy to understand, although the myriad of options can get a bit daunting (which is great, if you're looking to change up the look of your windows.) Again, Luis always responded quickly to my questions and resend new quotes based on my changes so I always knew what the final price would be. However, great windows don't help much if they're not installed well. Again, the Window King crew came through with an excellent team of installers who were polite and mindful of my home during the install. I was amazed at the efficiency of their work, as if they have been working together for years. But the thing that stood out the most was that they really seemed to take pride in doing the job well. I overheard them multiple times stating how well a particular window went in, or complimenting one another on how well they got it to fit. No grumbling or swearing when something didn't line up perfectly or needed adjustment, they just went about the task of fitting it correctly. When all was said and done, I got excellent windows professionally installed for a price that many competitors couldn't touch.
