The weather was rainy and he was very careful to ensure that stain wasn't applied while the house was still damp. There were no drips anywhere. The stain was applied evenly and thoroughly. Tarps and masking tape were used where needed. Great atttention to detail. His staff was courteous and reliable. I was MORE than patient with him. He finally came to my house to do the job, after numerous no shows that past week and a half. When he arrived he asked to come out to review what we wanted to do, and it was filled with bait and switches. He was impatient, rude and off putting immediately if I tried asking any questions, and threatened to leave. He refused to do the work we originally agreed on which was the areas of the front of the house visible from the street or even have a conversation/work with me on what I wanted. I kindly reminded him we can calmly talk things through to get on the same page, and work things out, after all, it had been over a YEAR since I was quoted. I reminded him that the thinking was that if we were renting a lift, that we would do all the areas that would require it, so that we didn't have to rent it again... Logical, right? I even broke down and offered to pay more to have the section I wanted to be painted... This was when he admitted he didn't rent the lift like he was supposed to. At that point, I ended up going along with what he said he would do because I had waited so long and needed it done. Then, he told me that the paint was not included and I needed to pay for it separately, which was not notated anywhere in the quote that it was the clients responsibility. The quote gave the totals in the column, and gave the grand total at the bottom of the amount we agreed to including the paint, and then I realized the total at the bottom didn't even add up to any of the amounts given, it was very obscure, and disorganized leaving me, the client, feeling like he was trying to take advantage of me. Any attempt to discuss with him to review the quotes, problem solve, see if there was misunderstandings lead to hyper defensiveness, rude behavior, and again threaten to leave. After numerous times to sooth him I just let him go. He even got mad at me for even asking if I could pick the color of white for my own house, and threatened to leave over that! Not multiple colors, one color. If he had made a mistake and admitted it, and we could have talked it out and fixed it, and came to resolution. The whole experience was terrible, and completely unprofessional. We had agreed to do a portion of the house this year, and the other portion in the next year or two, and then at the end he admitted he didn't want to do the job because he didn't want to only do half. I told him I wish he had told be before and I would have changed plans, and not waited a year longer than we originally talked about. I do not appreciate dishonesty, and being dragged along just to be treated rudely to get out of a job. Simply communicate well. I would definitely not recommend him. After a year of waiting to have my house painted, I will probably have to wait till next year to get someone that available. To say the least, I'm livid.

I hired S & J Electric - Jonathan who is the owner of this establishment. He came and did the work for me, just to find out that he has done things AGAINS THE CODE/RULES. Cost of his work was $4000 - lots of money for the work that was done wrongly and putting my family at risk. At this time I have to hire people to come and correct the issues that Johnathan caused or created. I have contacted Jonathan and informed him what the inspector said that his work did not pass the inspection and that his work needs to be corrected. At first Jonathan was angry and said that he doesn't want to waste his time coming back to correct the issue, but after while he promissed that he will come and correct his mistakes - no show ups few times. This is very unfortunate as I really liked the Johnathan and his father and have hoped that I have found a good electrician that I can utilize for many projects in years to come. The tree damaged our upper roof and caused extensive structural damage to our back porch, so we knew we needed a roofing company that could repair more than just our damaged shingles. After calling several local roofing companies I was feeling a little overwhelmed - some wanted to just repair the shingles and subcontract the needed structural repairs, others tried to upsell me on features I wasn't looking for, and others told me they weren't willing to work with the insurance company on our behalf to get the needed repairs covered. Finally, I called Blue Bird Roofing and I am so glad I did!!! The owner came out the next day and did a thorough inspection of the damages, both on the interior and exterior of my home, with pictures to show me where repairs were needed. Even though there was snow & ice on our roof he didn't hesitate to get up there and look around, and when he found damaged shingles on our 2nd story roof causing a leak into our attic he sent someone the next day to chisel away the ice to patch our roof so we wouldn't get any more water damage up there. He was confident his company could make the structural repairs we needed and was willing to take over communication with my insurance company to get our claim paid, so I didn't even need to talk to the insurance anymore which was a big relief! After waiting months for the insurance to approve our claim they finally did and the owner of Blue Bird Roofing was able to pursuade them to cover the cost of all the damages which was amazing! The Blue Bird Roofing team got to work right away on making the needed repairs. They put a new roof on our porch, repaired damaged rafters and beams, fixed cracked and water damaged trim, repaired torn screens, replaced a piece of damaged aluminum siding on our house, installed new gutters and guards, installed new siding, really they did everything that needed to be done so our porch looked exactly like it did before the tree fell. The Blue Bird Roofing team worked all day and came back the following evening to do more repairs. The owner even spent several hours on a rainy Saturday doing detailed repairs inside our porch because he wanted everything to look perfect. Not to mention the repairs we needed for our 2nd story roof - new shingles, new gutters and guards, opening a ridge vent that had never been cut to ensure our roof had better ventilation, new flashing around our chimneys, new trim - new everything. He even installed missing cross beams in our attic (at my request) so our house could have more structural support under the roof. Throughout the process, there were repeated no-shows and canceled appointments, usually with an excuse for why he couldn't make it. It became very frustrating because I couldn't rely on him to keep scheduled appointments. I paid for slate roof repairs, but the roof still leaks, and slates have continued to fall off after the work was completed. The issues I hired him to fix remain unresolved. After more than a year of trying to get the work corrected, I have decided to pursue the matter in small claims court. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Mike's Roofing Repair and Carpentry.
