We had windows installed 9 years ago by Window World. We have had to reach out to them a few times to replace a window, or fix a screen. This latest time I called them a week ago and they were prompt on calling me back to go over the issue. They set up an appointment and were out here within 24 hours fixed the problem and was gone. We have nothing but high praise for Window World and the windows that we have in our house. I did have to wait about two months for my windows to come in (they replaced 5), but that's becoming the be norm with things nowadays so I don't blame them at all. I'm not one who usually writes reviews or openly complains online. But after my experience, I highly recommend not using Window World for your window needs. The TLDR is once they get your money, you're no longer a priority. When I first contacted Window World, their salesman Wayne was friendly and promised to get my 6 windows installed within 30 days, which was perfect timing as I was about to sell my home. However, 30 days came and went without any communication from the company. When I reached out to Wayne, he was rude and dismissive. He talked down to me like I was a child, not a 35-year-old man spending $3700 of his hard-earned money for 6 new windows. After many calls and a lot of frustration, we finally got the windows installed. The installer, Jay, was the only bright spot in the entire experience. He provided excellent customer service and did a great job with the window installation, which took two days. Unfortunately, one of the windows arrived with a rip in the screen, which led to another week of dealing with our salesman Wayne and more frustration. He told me that despite getting hundreds of windows each week, they didn't have any window screen material in stock. And their screen material couldn't be swapped with something you can get at a big box store. Our house was put on the market and sold during the week of radio silence, waiting on a new screen. This led me to ask Wayne via text if he could take screen material from one of the hundreds of windows in their store to repair mine. This led to a very abrupt call from Wayne saying, "That's what I'm doing dude", and then hung up on me... I was shocked at the level of disrespect from someone his age and experience level. I've worked customer service jobs my whole adult life. I don't think I was being rude or unrealistic to ask this. I called and spoke to the General Manager about my experience from start to finish after Wayne hung up on me. He was friendly and agreed there was no excuse for rude customer service. While talking, I overheard him order to send someone to install the repaired screen. Fortunately, our realtor was at our house when the young man arrived with the screen because he was trying to install it upside down and backward... Overall, I would not recommend Window World. Their lack of communication, poor customer service, and unfulfilled promises made the experience a nightmare. So save yourself the headache and find another window company that will treat you like a person. We ordered the windows on March 8th, and everything was completed on April 21st, 2023. read more

We had issues with water due to having wrong kind of windows. We contacted window world to purchase new windows. First of all their sales people and management either has no clue which houses needs a replacement window and which one needs new construction window or they are just simply lying and I am not sure which one is worst. We explained that we have a stucco home and our issue was old windows that we replaced more than 10 years ago failed and caused water damage. Simply it turns out we needed windows that has full frame and will sit on top of the sideboards so that siding (whichever kind you use including stucco) can be run to the sides of that window and seal it with tape to avoid any water damage. We didn't know this when we contacted Window World. Our sales person Wayne, never told us that simply they were just going to replace same windows that we had but this will not resolve our main water issues. We also asked to repair wood around the window if it is damaged. We initially end up paying close to $20000. Once our windows arrived 5 months after and this is when main problems started. First of all, one window came wrong. We contacted our sales person and he said it will be ordered and we will receive it right away (never received it. Than of course as they started installation problems started since windows are not right size and right kind. In addition to this they have not even replaced any damaged rotten wood around the window. We stopped the work at that time and contacted our sales person. He contacted management and one of their managers came. They were also confused why their installers were trying to install on top of rotten wood, but also they were not sure about how it will work with our house so that new siding. Still he said that this is more work than they realized than they charged us more than $1500 difference for installation and to replace rotten wood (which we were told by sales person that it was included with the original contract). Still we agreed hoping that it will work. They started but they never even build any frames just replace portions of the rotten wood with patches (see the images how frame looks like a patch work). At that time we started to learn that we actually needed different kind of window and we started asking if there is a way to salvage these windows and it they can work with us to find a solution. They never offered any kind of solution. We were only told that they don't sell new construction windows (basically windows with full frame and lips on the side) and they only sell replacement window. Interesting that this was never mentioned until everything installed and we paid. We finally end up ordering "new construction" windows from Pella and replace all of the their windows. Also around a month ago, we started a claim with bbb. Even though what they sold us are wrong windows and they never told us, we still decided that we also should be more informed about what we needed, so we wanted to keep portion of the blame. We only decided to request money back for wrong window and installation rather than full refund. They just responded back to us and told us that they did nothing wrong and they recommended us to file a warranty claim. This shows how honest this company is. Not only they sold us wrong kind of windows, not delivery every window we ordered but also they make us pay additional money to fix an installation issue that is not possible to fix with current type and size of windows. We agreed to the price and gave half the money down to schedule the job and order the windows. The crew came out and replaced 10 windows in my brick home with no damage to my house at all. We used Window World to replace all windows in our home (25 to be exact!) and are very pleased with results. When we purchased our home we juggled several remodeling jobs at once (bathrooms, floors and etc), all of which, took longer and cost more than anticipated. It was such a relief to have the guys at Window World deliver on a great product at an affordable price without any snags. Not only did the windows instantly improve our homes curb appeal (a lot!), it improved our energy bill too! We were even pleased with customer service several weeks AFTER installation, when we had minor issue with water coming in near an upstairs window (It's an older Georgian with very shallow eves, so sadly not an uncommon issue.) I called our salesman (Steve) and within a couple days they had returned and fixed whatever issue arose without any problem. Window world replaced rotten wood windows. They were very nice while in my home and very tidy. The windows are beautiful and we can tell such a difference in the temperature of the rooms. We only replaced the front windows but we will certainly use them when we replace the back. read more

I don't normally do reviews but Window World of Chattanooga gets a 5 star in my book. I came from a family of six brothers and my dad was a lifelong contractor. I have worked in the building industry all my life and have installed hundreds of vinyl windows myself so I Know quality customer service and craftsmanship when I see it. The reason I didn't do them myself is I am 70 years old and time to let someone else do the work. Window World did everything they said they would do and more. The Installer, Dan Johnson, and his crew did a fantastic job and were very professional and courteous. They did a great job cleaning up after the job was complete. We had are windows done about 4-5 years ago and the tech that did first have of House was great. The tech that did the 2nd half did not take down shutters and we are painting and they are stuck in house. When getting then finally we will have to re caulk all. Called company and they would not come back and re caulk their faulty work. Beware of Shutter no coming down when windows are put up!!! The caulk must dry first and then shutters!! read more

Emailed the company and all they did was forward the message to the Rep. He did call and apologize and said he just plain forgot (appreciate his honesty). By far the worst company I have ever done business with.I purchased 17 windows to do the front and side of my house and when they came in a crew tore out all the windows first and the began the installation. The first window I could tell there was a problem with the fit ( salesman ordered all to small) .I got on the phone and called them and they sent service manager down to look.He states that they was measured incorrectly and that there solution was to use case of grate foam to fill the 1 to 2" gap and cover it with flashing and wouldn't be able to see it.The crew had messed up all my window jams getting old windows out and I tried for over a year to talk to owner Kim to get the paint repairs done and finally had it done by someone else.I can definitely tell the difference in the new windows and it is worse than the aluminum frame that i had ,you feel drafts coming in and any noise outside is alot louder.Spend a little extra money and go with a better company is my recommendation. read more

I called Window World to get new windows for our house. The sales rep, Johnathan, took forever to come out. When he came out, he was not knowledgeable about the correct paperwork OR the correct trim to order for our house so he ordered the wrong stuff. I was told my windows would be installed either right before Christmas or the 1st week in January. I had not heard from them by the end of the first week at all so I called Jonathan, my sales rep. He did not answer so i sent him a text saying just to give me a call when he could. 8 hours later, i get a text saying that he was busy and would call when he could. This did not happen so I contacted the office. The lady was polite and told me that my windows would come in that Tuesday and I should hear from John the scheduler. John never called by the following Friday so I called them. He was rude and hateful to me explaining that the turn around for windows was 6 weeks and it was not 6 weeks yet. My husband called because of how he spoke to me and the owner called him back apologizing stating that Jonathan had ordered the wrong trim and that it was taking longer because it was coming from Arizona. Several weeks later, john called to ask if we could do that Saturday for install. My husband said yes so Saturday at 9 they showed up. I run an errand and come back to 3 windows out and sitting on the lawn and 2 guys in the process of opening another 8 by 10 hole in my house. 3 windows. It was 40 degrees outside and raining. My heat was killing itself to keep up. I told them to stop pulling out windows and put some of these in before they continue to pull anymore out. Andrew got mad and said well just turn of your heater. I asked how the family was to stay warm and he stayed that they weren't used to people being home. He got mad and put in the 3 windows that they had taken out and left. I called window world and they said it was my fault because I didnt let them do their job and insisted that they close up some of the holes before putting more in. I have 7 windows lent against my furniture and washer and dryer and they refuse to fix this until I call Monday and schedule a new installer. I will not use them again. read more

We had a sliding glass door installed by this company. Our salesman named Anthony took all the measurements and ordered the door. When the installers came they removed the old door installed the new door. Problem 1) Instead of blocking and screwing the door into wood they spanned a huge 3 inch gap with the screws and filled the void with foam. Problem 2) 5/8" gap on the left side of the door, the door was too small for the opening. Their solution - fill this void with caulk (on the inside of the house). Because caulk was not meant to fill voids that large it became sunken and developed holes after they left. The installer did come back to smooth it out again - but who wants that much caulk around the door. Problem 3) And perhaps the BIGGEST PROBLEM, again because the door measured correctly, it was not tall enough there is a ~3 inch lip at the bottom - a real trip hazard. I told them with the base of the door so high off the floor - it's more like a sliding window than a sliding door. I called Anthony back out to look at it and he agreed it was a problem offered up a solution saying he needed to speak with his boss.... and then he never contacted me again. Install team showed in time, did their work quickly and accurately. Reviewed all functions of the windows and left me some extra caulk matching the interior and exterior colors. read more

Twice given a time which they did not meet, Told by the manager to have it done in one day (it did not happen) Wait another day only to call and find out they were not coming (and did not bother to call me to let me know!!!! and the manager was asked to call me by the head of the crew) so a 3rd day will be waisted I am sure. Ten weeks have passed since my previous review and a follow-up is in order. First, Eric, Window World of Chattanooga's owner contacted me shortly after my previous review to ask what Window World could do to ensure my satisfaction with my purchase. He made no excuses, only promises to do whatever was necessary to make sure the job was done right. I appreciate that he immediately took ownership of the problem and seemed interested only in solving it. With that in mind and following what's transpired in the past two-and-a-half months, I'll upgrade Window World's overall rating to a four (another upgrade may be pending), leave Anthony at zero, and downgrade Dewayne and Carroll's Home Improvement to a two. The promised repair of the window that wouldn't lock was completed on time as scheduled. During that visit, Reed and his repair team also corrected the installation of one of the new sliding doors that was difficult to slide and lock. Following that, he noticed other shortcomings, resulting in his evaluation of the entire installation (twenty-two windows and four doors), finding several deficiencies that would've gone unnoticed to my untrained eye and one that didn't go unnoticed by my untrained ear. Subsequent to scheduling the window lock repair, the front door developed a creak which turned out to be caused by the hinges rubbing against the casing trim, an installation error that no amount of lubricant would've corrected. Window issues included several that were hard to open and close and many that had variances in the casing depth both side to side and top to bottom, some of almost a half inch. I had noticed that problem when reinstalling our mini-blinds after the installation but had no idea how hard it would be or if it even could be corrected without reinstalling the entire window. Regardless, Reed took his findings, along with pictures, back to Window World for some kind of resolution. Let me say that despite the installation deficiencies, we've been very happy overall with the reduction in utility costs following the window, door and siding upgrades. The Window World product is excellent at its price point and does an excellent job of what it's advertised and designed to do. Finding installation contractors whose quality of work matches the product obviously poses some difficulties. Anyway, after a period of playing phone-tag with the staff at Window World, we finally got on the schedule and received word last week that a repair team was being dispatched to take care of not just the door but any installation issue that required correction. The promised repair team, Andy and Curtis, arrived today. As I understand it, Andy is a salaried employee at Window World, not a subcontractor. There is a stark difference - all positive - in the demeanor, attention to detail and quality of work of this team compared to that of our original subcontractor installers. To his credit, not once did Andy offer any disparaging comments about the work of his predecessors; he concentrated solely on ensuring he understood my concerns and perceived problems and getting to work resolving them. I don't think he arrived knowing the scope of what he was being asked to do. The creaky door repair, unfortunately, couldn't be completed without additional materials which he didn't have although he stopped the creak by 'adjusting' (moving) the trim a fraction of an inch away from the hinges. Had he, rather than Reed, made the original evaluation, I have no doubt the required materials would've been on hand. More work is needed on both the casing and the trim before the repair will be complete and that will take one more visit which he promised to make. On the window repairs, he and Curtis were nothing short of amazing. They measured and removed every variance in every window - all twenty-two of them - recaulking the repairs far more proficiently than was done originally. We went from 'the bigger the blob, the better the job' to a clean, uniform, machine-quality finish that, as I told them, restored my faith in Window World's ability to complete the job professionally and in their promise to do the job to my complete satisfaction. Granted, that won't happen until the creaky door creaks no more but after a day of watching them work, I have no doubt they have the skills to make it happen, thus the pending upgrade I mentioned at the beginning of this review. From a product and service perspective, we're very happy that we chose Window World of Chattanooga. From an installation perspective, both the customer and Window World appear to be at the mercy of the subcontractor. Here's wishing Eric and Window World of Chattanooga great success finding customer-oriented subcontractors with the technical and people skills we enjoyed in Andy and Curtis. read more

We had the the windows in the entire front of our home replaced by Window World of Chattanooga. The price was the best quote for what turned out to be the best service and product. Anything that was not considered correct the company always made it right. The installation crew was professional, courteous, and fast! ( Once the installation was scheduled) We received the same quality window, a lifetime guarantee, and good service for a much lower cost than the the cost of the quotes of the competitors in our area. read more

Back in 2015 I had Window World do siding on my house. It took the contractors over 5 month to install the siding on a small house 50% brick which should have taken only 5 to 7 days. They also done a very sloppy job in doing so. Within 6 months after they finally completed the job the siding started to come loose and fall off in some areas. They did however back their work and redid the job and it took them only 3 days to complete it. This contractor told me that the contractor who did the job first did it wrong and didn't know what they were doing. I DO NOT recommend Window World for any tasks. read more

Where to start. First we ordered our windows, doors and shutters 11/1/16. We were told standard quote was 6-8 week but they should be in 4-5. 12/28/16 I called (windows were one order, doors and shutters another). I asked about the windows. I was told "we can put them in Thursday or Friday this week". Really? Nice to call and let us know they had arrived. So the following week we schedule to have them put in (had to give work notice myself and my husband needed to be off). They installed them and broke trim along our bay windows in the dining area. One of the contracted decided to fix trim that he broke with caulk. Well needless to say, I had my turn off work and addressed it. He said not only should we have been charged at least twice as much extra (We were already charged an extra $100 for the one window) and he would have to see about getting someone to come out and fix it. So a piss poor attitude with me. Then he ends up having to come back out with his crew to install the doors. Talk about an even worse attitude, made a comment in front of my husband that the only reason he had to do the doors was because of the trim. So him and his crew not only had to have the service manager tell them how to install the doors, but my husband had to give pointers at the end because they did not caulk everything (mind you his "skills" with the trim...). The doors came in late because, for whatever reason, they were stamped "Do not ship" at the factory. I ask about the shutters, well the shutters aren't ordered until after the windows are put in. The front of the house was brick, this was a complete extra waste of time. Anyways, doors and windows are in at this point. A little extra, 11/6/16 I had set up the escore account online as instructed by Window World. 11/7/16 our power company contacted me. They said they needed to do an initial inspection before the windows and doors were put in. Window World said they just get paid by the job and we do not need them to come out so I told the power company we would pass. Big mistake. Now back to the windows and doors. Window World put in the ticket for the windows and doors to be inspected, after the inspection, the shutters would be installed once they arrived. This was supposed to be a 7-10 business day waiting period before the power company contacted me to set up a time for the final escore inspection. 15 business days (yes, 3 full weeks) later, I contacted the power company. Window world had told me twice since everything was installed do not contact the company at all that they would contact us and might be backed up. Well because I told them not to do the inspection back in november, they were not planning on contacting me about the final escore inspection. Soooo, we get that set up. Window World shows up with no notice to install the shutters, we get the escore finally done. Which we still not have received our rebate two weeks later. But the shutters. They were barely within the tolerance according to my husband--who used to do this for a living so we have not complained. But 1 1/2 weeks after instillation, one of the shutters is starting to come off. I called Tuesday (today is Friday) for someone to come out, I was told someone would get back with me shortly...Wednesday i call again. Well they had been busy which is why no one called. So I was told Thursday afternoon someone would come fix it. Even gave an extra day so here we are on 3/3/17. This process started 11/1/16. Are you kidding me? Yes, the cheapest but the worse service. One excuse after another. Someone is sick. Someone is out of town on a different project. Someone is coming but this is just not cutting it. A life time warranty? That sounds great until you cannot get someone to call you back or come fix a shoddy job. I don't know why they have such a good rating everywhere I look. It's a joke. Well, joke's on us. read more
