Reviewing as an attendee of a Windows-catered event, not the purchaser. Windows was the caterer for three-day event I attended recently, and while I can't speak to prices or the ordering process, as an attendee the food was outstanding! Breakfast food (eggs, bacon, potatoes, fruit, etc.) were all fresh, hot/cool as appropriate, and they managed to keep bacon crispy and hot in way you rarely see in catered breakfasts. Lunches were varied and also really quite good. Meats were served hot, and managed to stay tender despite the chafing pans. Again, not something you often see in a catered chafing-pan lunch. Perhaps most importantly, every time we hit a break, the food and drinks were ready to go. No waiting, no delays, and super friendly service from the employees as well. read more

She helped create a menu and a staffing plan that met all our needs. As a small non-profit with limited funds for events, Nicole worked with us to create and modify the menu and beverages order to meet the budget while ensuring the right quantity and variety of food was available for the guests. This is our second Fourth of July party catered beautifully. The first year had 125 guests for cocktails and canapes. The second year it was a full-on buffet for 25 people with a sit down dinner. They brought in tables, linens, flowers, chefs, servers, a mimosa station, an omelet station, the works! I reached out to Windows on short notice. My original caterer was not able to do our event. Not only did Karol get a proposal ready in record time, she modified it to all my requests the same day I made them. She understood the decoration and setting requirements and contacted those suppliers while I was there in real time to communicate my requests. On the day of, Windows exceeded our expectations. The venue was beautiful, with several additional personal touches that Karol added. And then when the party lasted a little longer, Karol was there to offer me options. We used Windows catering for an event. Yes, it was a late booking and they accomodated us, but its was nonetheless a booking and they were paid. However, the owner Debbie is one of the rudest people I have ever met. And her staff was rude as well. She literally said they had been there 12 minutes past the booking time and started grabbing tablecloths while the event was still going on, not to mention an event attended by high level government personnel. She was rude to my assistant on the phone and rude from the moment she arrived at the event - I could not believe it! Otherwise, the food was good and the decor provided very nice. But I do not like and will not work with people with such bad personalities. Buyer beware! read more

I can recall four separate events, one of which was a wedding celebration for my son and daughter-in-law in my home . In addition to two fundraisers and the wedding event, I used them for a work-related event. Service was five diamond; food was outstanding and gourmet. And pricing was fair and worth it. Would I use Windows again: DEFINITELY! My fundraisers were 2014 and 2017, wedding 2015 and work 2018. Unfortunately, in this day of healthier foods, diet consciousness, runaway hypertension, high cholesterol, and hyper glycemic awareness, this company is completely oblivious. Not only were the choices for the catered breakfast and lunch less than "healthy" -- that is they were high in cholesterol, sodium and sugar. The so called "Rise and Shine" breakfast sandwich was stacked with thick fat, and not very much lean, bacon. Lots of cheese, etc. Outrageous. UPDATE 9/13/22 -- Plenty of soda. I highly recommend Victoria Baca and her team at Windows. They did an amazing job catering a bridal shower brunch for my niece. Victoria made sure I was happy with the menu she proposed. The menu was amazing! Some of my favorites were the mini quiches and the salmon. The food is not only delicious but it is also well presented. The mimosa bar was very popular with our guests. I ordered food for 40 people from Windows Catering for my backyard birthday party on a Saturday. I don't have a catering kitchen in my home and have nowhere to store food in advance of a party. I asked for a 3pm delivery time, but the food arrived at 12:30pm (so it had to sit unrefrigerated for hours before guests arrived). The following Monday, I was given NO notice that the delivery team would return to pick up the metal trays that some of the food had been served in. TL;DR - The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, but there are some service-related glitches that I believe the company is now working to resolve. I will give them another chance. read more

This review is only for customer service, or lack thereof. 0 stars. Our wedding venue has a short list of approved caterers and we were pleasantly surprised to see that Windows made the list. I called and requested a proposal. And then we waited. After a couple weeks passed, I left voicemails for our event planner. My calls went unanswered. I eventually caught him in the office and he assured me that the proposal was ready to go. That, in fact, he had emailed it to me already. I checked my junk mail and sent him messages from two different email addresses to ensure that he would get through any spam filters. No emails arrived. I left another voicemail. No response. I finally called and asked to speak to someone else. A vice president called me on a Friday and assured me that the situation would be cleared up by Monday. My cell phone was quiet. So, thanks, Windows, for making our catering decision so much easier! read more

I'm afraid that I have to agree with the other yelpers who complained about a lack of communication from this caterer. I got a very prompt response after initial contact, and went through the trouble of calling from overseas (I needed to get the ball rolling in hurry) to discuss what I was looking for. I was promised a proposal within a few days. I waited about a week and sent a follow-up e-mail just to check in on things. I received another prompt response saying that a proposal would be soon on the way, and that was the end of it. I wouldn't say I'm mad or upset, as I found someone else more responsive and I'm happy with them, but it does strike me as an odd way to do business. So folks, you've been warned. If you work with Windows, depending on who handles your contract, you might have a super "fun" time trying to get a proper response out of them. Just on a separate note, I have tried their food once at an event, and it seemed pretty tasty and more on the upscale side. But that seems irrelevant if you can't even get a proposal out of them. read more

They catered my wedding. They were a bit on the expensive side, but they match their catering with their service for the price. I was really happy with my event coordinator there. Not pushy, but sold the place to me right away. The tasting was GREAT! We were able to make changes up to the last minute and they took all my favors (very large in size and quantity) and set them up for me. The event coordinator was working the event and acted like a day of wedding coordinator...making sure that my wedding went by my timeline and she put my HORRIBLE dj in check!!!!! After the fact, all my guests mentioned to me how wonderfully everything was prepared and how everything was done in a timely manner and very professionally. By the way, there is no kitchen at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. I don't know how they made the food so good!!! Customer service, on the other hand, is quite lacking. I used Windows for a work event two years ago. As other reviews have mentioned, I had difficulty communicating with my event planner. Unreturned phone calls were the norm. In fact, I wasn't entirely sure if they even remembered my event until I finally got someone on the phone about two weeks before the event. While the food and service at the reception were great, the stress of unreturned phone calls and emails were not worth using them again. read more

Our rep, Julie, fielded our myriad questions with poise & patience, and not once did she ever pressure us to spend more than necessary, etc.; even when we cut back on the order, there were no questions, just gracious accommodation. I got married this past September, and just wanted to express my sincerest gratitude to Windows Catering Company, my event planner Karol Contreras, and her assistant Krystin Smith. Karol has such an eye for design, and such a grasp on the wedding business. Her food recommendations were spot on and delicious, and her vision for the wedding went above anything I could have ever created. From the linens, to the chairs, to the decor, and the minor tiny details no one even thinks about - it was just stunning! Krystin went above and beyond, attended every meeting and walk though, made copious detailed notes, listened to every ridiculous concern and "to do" I had, and made us the most beautiful escort cards and menus. She was absolutely fabulous to work with. She and Karol are a perfect pair, and an amazing team. Windows' staff took such wonderful care of everyone at the wedding. The bridal parties were treated like kings and queens, bar lines were short, guests were well fed, and service was impeccable. Every time a glass or napkin was set down - it was scooped right up and taken away. Glasses were kept filled, and guests were always catered to. It was as though everyone's needs were met before they even realized they were in need. Karol kept us on schedule, and ensured that all the vendors were coordinated too, which was a major major help. She also filled in all those blanks that you totally forget about. No request was too big, and no detail was overlooked. Windows made the entire wedding planning process fun and easy. Nearly two months later, I am still getting compliments about what a beautiful, delicious, FUN party it was. Many older guests, who've been two quite a few weddings have said this was one of the nicest they've ever attended. Rave reviews on the entire meal and all of the passed hors d'oeuvres. The dessert buffet was amazing, and the wedding cake turned out better than the photos I gave them. I wanted late night snacks too, and they created a mini chili dog for me that was out of this world, and adorable.
