I'm a local photographer who has used Patch Orchards multiple times without issue, until this week,…read morewhen I had a shocking experience with them. As usual, I arrived with my clients, politely said hello and stated I was there to take photos by the Christmas trees. Christine (whom I had never met) said nothing about rules or purchase requirements and explicitly told me I could take photos. Afterward, my clients warmed up with their baby in the car and planned to cut a tree, but Christine assumed we weren't buying anything and escalated the situation for no reason. I left with my clients down the hill to take a few last shots and as I was getting into my car, Christine brought her husband Mike down in his truck to "scare me off". They flew past me, tried to block me from leaving the road, yelled at me to "never be seen on the property again," and accused me of "taking photos without buying anything" as if that were a crime. It was aggressive, threatening and completely unprofessional. This is a farm open to the public - visitors are NOT required to make a purchase just for stepping onto the property. If they have rules for photos, they can communicate them like adults instead of resorting to intimidation and theatrics. I won't be returning (for my own safety), and others should think twice before giving them business. If you do visit, apparently you'd better buy something immediately, since that seems to be their unspoken rule.

I love coming here for the delicious apples and other produce, apple cider donuts, maple products…read more(maple creamees, syrup, butter, candy, to name a few). The apple cider donuts are tasty when you get them hot and fresh. Their apple cider, both fresh and hard, is tasty too. The family that owns the orchard is kind and personable. If you like corn mazes, theirs is worth checking out. The views are also top notch.

What a great apple orchard and fruit stand. I scored some red raspberry jam made with just berries…read moreand cane sugar like my grandmother and mother used to make. The blueberry's were past but the bushes looked great! What was perfect on a colder fall day was a warm apple cider donuts..probably one of the best I have ever had ...and some cold apple cider. Just off the highway, ads it to your fall list.

How can it be that I've never reviewed Green Mountain Orchards on Yelp?…read moreThis is the best place for pick-your-own. Beautiful fruit, beautifully maintained property. Well organized, easy to get in/out, minimal need for walking, and very little mud on one's feet. We pick blueberries each summer, multiple times per season. We have picked peaches in summer 1-2 times, and have picked apples in the fall a few times. Each time it's a great experience. The apple picking gets crowded, but never crazy. We've never had an experience where we were sent to pick in a section that had been picked over and had little fruit. Each time it's a great experience, both for adults and children. Well organized traffic, parking, checkout, bags/buckets. I can't recall a time I felt like things were crazy or disorganized. Prices are fair. The big bonus of course are the treats that they bake up: apple cider doughnuts, pastries, everything I've ever had has been amazing. Makes me want to move in and work there, it's just so wonderful. Highest recommendation!

We didn't know much about Woodstock but ended up staying in the area due to the great reviews of On…read morethe River Inn. The town of Woodstock is quaint, and there are plenty of inns to choose from but that being said, you mostly rely on Gillingham's General Store and the local Farmers Market (physical store) for last minute supplies since finding a dinner restaurant the first few days of the week is unlikely to happen and the closest large pharmacy is a half hour drive away. Overall parking is easy with the Park Mobile app and there are many lovely small businesses you can stop into. It's a fairly sleepy town and if you do consider visiting, I'd either do so prior to November or in December, as in November there's no foliage to speak of and you generally get frost instead of snow.

However, when I got my two points, my on my record went from 0 to 2. My new premium went from around 1400 to 2800 for two cars for three years. It's about $3000. Offer a scam so town of Woodstock can pretender enforcing public safety when it's just a rip off. Woodstock is a nice looking town has a great restaurant but I'm never going back and I think I'll skip the entire state of VERMONT because I hear they do this in many other cities and towns. Pretty sick.
