One of my favorite farms stands. The best pies in the area , made fresh every morning. Super hiker friendly.

Best produce anywhere! The veggies and fruits are beautiful and delicious and all grown locally…read more The bedding plants and flowers are great as well - the Killdeer perennials I've planted always look gorgeous and are much healthier than plants from other nurseries. The carrots are especially awesome, but they also have perfect tomatoes, the best corn ever, great arugula, mixed greens etc. Strawberries and blueberries are amazing as well. They also have cheeses, milk, local meats, baked goods - if I lived in the upper valley I would do almost all my grocery shopping at Killdeer. No need to shop elsewhere!

Update: Killdeer has raised prices significantly since my review. So I mostly shop elsewhere now…read more Killdeer is still good for the occasional purchase -- but has priced itself out of the "everyday essentials" category, and into the "luxury novelty" and "tourist trap" categories. So, a half star off for mediocre value. Another half star off for business practices, based on Killdeer's sanctimonious statements trying to justify their policy of importing foreign workers from poor countries to do their farm labor, instead of hiring local workers. Come on guys, you import foreign laborers for one reason: to maximize corporate profit. There is no difference between what you do, and what mid-western meat-packing plants do. And that's okay -- I feel Killdeer is entitled to hire whoever they want, as long as it's legal. But I resent the Karl Rove-ian style "Clear Skies" doublespeak spin.

I grew up in Texas (beef country) and now live in Los Angeles, home of many fine eateries, and this is absolutely the best. Worth any drive you have to make to get there.

We had heard fantastic reviews about this place from a friend and they did not disappoint. I could come here again and again and again. The daily menu was out of this world. Everything is either produced on their farm or nearby farms. They give you the daily menu when you arrive and you can see which ingredients came from which farm. The daughter served us all night and was so kind and sweet. My fiancé is also vegetarian and they made her a butternut squash fettuccini with roasted broccoli. The sweet corn polentas were out of this world. They were perfectly crispy and came with the sweetest red pepper jam. We wish we could have eaten this all night! The sourdough bread is warm and so crispy on the outside. They even make the butter on site. For dessert we had the most perfect decadent chocolate cake with rosemary and thyme ice cream. I didn't even know you could make ice cream with herbs and it was fantastic!! This was the absolute perfect way to celebrate our engagement. We couldn't have asked for a better family to share this occasion with. We will definitely be back again in the future!
