About 2 months ago, we decided to replace our windows. They were wood, double hung, old, drafty, and had moisture intrusion issues. We narrowed down the choice between ProVia and Simonton. We contacted ProVia and found 3 certified installers in the area: Windura, Bordner, and Johnson County Window and Siding. Jeff and his son came to the residence to measure and quickly sent us a quote. After they left, I heavily researched the companies online reviews, their BBB report, and any potential prior lawsuits though Joco's website. The other two companies wanted to treat the current wood rot on the brick mould and then wrap with vinyl. We currently have EIFS siding, had hired an EIFS inspector prior to window shopping, and he advised us it wouldn't be a good idea to wrap. He said he sees brick mould that rots anyway due to sealant failure and that we would be taking too much of a risk for moisture intrusion if we wrapped. He recommended we hire Windura instead of the other 2 contractors because they were the only contractor that stated the brick mould needed to be replaced with PVC. PVC is compatible with EIFS installs. Wood is not. They were not the cheapest bid, but they certainly were not the highest. I was highly skeptical that the PVC brick mould would look good, but we took the advice of the inspector. We ordered ProVia Endure Vinyl for the upper two levels and Milgard sliders for the basement. We put 25% down, they ordered our windows, and we waited about 9 weeks for an install due to their schedule. I wasn't entirely happy with the wait but it was worth it. The Jeff's team arrived on time every day, were respectful of the property, were careful about not damaging the EIFS (I was surprised how little touch up work will need to be done), were professional, and were very helpful and friendly. They replaced 5 wooden window sills as well that had som wood rot issues due to not being installed to the EIFS properly and didn't charge us for it. And the PVC looks magnificent. Excellent carpentry work. . I would definitely recommend Windura. They warrantied their work for 3 years, the windows are warrantied for a lifetime and can transfer once to a different owner, and if there is a problem with the windows, they are authorized by ProVia to make repairs per the warranty agreement. One company we considered hiring tried to tell us they were the only certified ProVia installer in the area and that ProVia would send them out if we ever filed a claim with them because they are the only ones authorized to handle their warranty claims in the area. This claim was invalidated when I read ProVia's warranty and when I placed a call to ProVia to validate the contractor's claim. This other contractor also quoted us almost $8k higher for the same windows. . .I won't name names, but if you look up the other 2 companies that quoted for ProVia, you will find how I reviewed the contractor. Scathing. We will definitely use Windura again when we begin to replace our doors. I would definitely recommend them if you want competitive pricing, quality workmanship, and business reliability. You won't walk away regretting that you hired them. read more

Waited to rate Windura to assess year-around performance of the new windows. Windura installed 20 Milguard "Ultra" Fiberglass windows. These are high quality, high-end windows. They have performed brilliantly -- we couldn't be more pleased with the product and with Jeff Kinkade, the owner of WIndura who we dealt with. We thoroughly researched different window companies and products in the JOCO area and got bids from 3. Throughout the process, it was clear Jeff Kinkade was the most knowledgeable about windows. Jeff is not a "salesman" -- he's a professional window expert with many years in the business. Very easy to deal with and very responsive -- Jeff was a pleasure to work with. The installation went smoothly. His crew was efficient and friendly. On the negative side, the crew spent more time installing from inside the house than expected, and some of their caulking was too "fat fingered" to suit me, but these are minor issues considering the overall high quality of their work and the finished product.
