Over the past 15 years, I've been to 3 other physical therapy clinics, and I can honestly say the quality of care varies greatly. At some clinics, patients were double-booked and left to do exercises on their own, sometimes without knowing whether they were performing them correctly. At one clinic, I even had a therapist spend part of our scheduled session watching TV. At Kailua Physical Therapy, the experience has been completely different. The therapists provide personalized attention and make sure exercises are done correctly and safely. The entire staff creates a warm, supportive environment that makes you feel comfortable and confident in your recovery. I highly recommend them.

Abigail is EXCELLENT!!! I have dealt with neck pain, bulging discs, tears, degenerative disc disease, etc. for 8 years. It progressed into severe pain and almost constant numbness down my arm. After 3 sessions that numbness went away! She is incredibly helpful and adapts very quickly offering various education, exercises, stretches, etc. to ensure I am comfortable. During my appointment, the PT told me he had to speak with the TENS machine representative and left me alone on the table for 20 minutes. He returned, moved my leg a few times, and said I was finished. My second appointment was on January 30th. The PT told me to ride the bike, but he didn't help me get on or advise me on how fast or slow to pedal. After I got off the bike, he performed the same exercises I was already doing at home, as prescribed by my knee surgeon. There were 30 minutes remaining in my appointment when he put on his jacket and told me he was leaving. He instructed the aide to guide me through exercises on the laptop. I inquired about the aid's education, and she stated she had an undergraduate degree in Health, but no PT certificates or degrees. It is illegal in HI to leave a patient with an unqualified aid without a PT present. I canceled all my future appointments with Moon PT and requested a refund of my co-payment. Moon PT is a very unprofessional and uncaring facility. I question the qualifications of the PTs and aids. The PT I saw was very impersonal and unprofessional. My knee surgeon recommended a different PT facility, but I chose Moon PT because it was close to my home, and I wanted to support a new business. This was my mistake. I had major knee replacement surgery and was treated very poorly at Moon PT. I will never recommend Moon PT to anyone.

A major issue is their inability to retain talent and their ongoing scheduling practices. Over my last 30 appointments, they have consistently started 5 to 7 minutes late. Because they are scheduled back-to-back and need time to reset their tables, they still get you out exactly on time. This means you routinely receive a 38-minute session while your insurance is billed for a full 45 minutes. What makes this incredibly frustrating is the double standard with their attendance policy. If they cancel your appointment, all you get is a quick "sorry." But if you are late or miss an appointment, you are hit with a strict $50 fee--no exceptions, regardless of your loyalty as a long-term patient. Save your time and money, and go somewhere else.

I have both Doctor Carlie & Doctor Steve, Between them they have a lot of experience and both are very compassionate and professional. They listen and observe to make sure you are not only doing things right but to make sure you are comfortable and not aggravating the injury more. I visit twice a week and the text reminders are very helpful, the receptionist are all very nice and remember you. I highly recommend this place not to mention they offer other services as well like Massages, acupuncture, cold plunge and yoga! I will definitely try a massage once I feel able too.

Within a few weeks, my headaches were gone, and I'm so much more aware of what causes/fixes them. It started with some massage, and eventually to some stretching, then some light exercises to do at home. The big difference this time was how Kathy really helped me understand exactly how each exercise affects me, and how I'm causing my injuries which makes it easier to actively correct myself. A massage is always a topic at work and when mentioned one day a friend told me that I had to go to Nori Kohana Massage Therapy and the enthusiasm she gave about this place already had me excited as she describes her sessions and experiences here is always so amazing. Since I needed to book two separate sessions I decided to give them a call to make it easier to find though you're still able to do so at your own leisure online is nice so that you're able to see what's available without the pressure to book a session on the spot. Located in the Enchanted Lake area in Kailua on Keolu Drive it's very easy to miss as they're tucked in the tiny corner in a tiny shopping area right across from McDonald's as I drove by a couple times before realizing where it is lol! Though they do have free parking it is shared with a few other biz it can fill up quite fast and since it's a dead end parking it can get tricky but let me tell you it's so worth it. What's unique about this place is that you're able to book session with a beginner intern to a licensed therapist and what's better than having someone who has a passion to work on this precious gift which heals and gives relief to someone that needs it so desperately. I walked in to check in and loved the decor of the place which gave it a slight beachy vibe and various healing merchandises is so nice and comforting, I was immediately taken to my room which was very nice and so calming as the therapist was very nice as she asked my problem area and what I wanted to focus on along with the pressure that I'm comfortable with was so nice and just relaxing. Loved my massage and the relief that it had given me as I felt myself falling asleep several times tells you how relaxed I was and that is something worth escaping to. Thank you!
