Wedding Video Review! Could not have nicer things to say about WCP! My husband and I decided 4 months before our wedding to add video vendor services as most friends said it was their biggest regret to not have. WCP offers both photo and video packages but also different price points if you hire Sam/Katie or a Junior Associate. We loved that there was a value option for us to include video. Jamie was our Junior Associate. He came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator and I see why! His bubbly personality was a welcome addition day of to keep the energy high and make the documented moments feeling authentic and intentional. He went above and beyond with capturing drone footage and every wedding moment start to finish. After our big day, Sam edited our video to deliver a 2 minute teaser, 8 minute video capture, and provided us all raw footage. On top of this, they give couples the option to select songs. Our video was ready in about 6 weeks which was exactly in the middle of the proposed delivery timeline discussed. All email outreaches were responses to within 24 hours. They are simply good people to work with and were a great addition to our wedding vendor team! Tip: They offer a 5% discount with all cash payments. read more

How is this company NOT on yelp yet?! I wish i could give more than 5 stars. Windy City production was amazing to work with for our wedding. They had the best prices, and I appreciated that they didn't require the full payment till 2 weeks after the wedding. Communication is done directly with the owner until about a month prior; she contacts you and gives you your photographer info. I then set up a time to meet with my photographer. Katie C. She was AMAZING. Her work was beautiful. So amazing that my sister in law is special requesting her for her own wedding next year. (Still have fingers crossed!) We received our photos 14 days after the wedding, and we were able to download all of them to our computer! Highly suggest this company! Side note. While most of the day, we didn't even know he was there... by the end of the evening while we were on the dance floor, there was already video being displayed of the whole day! I do not recommend Windy City Productions as a wedding videographer/photographer. During the entire day of wedding preparations only 15 minutes was dedicated to the groom. There were no photos taken of the groom and his family or his groomsmen as they prepared for the day. All family members were not highlighted in "cinema" video. The 'raw' video footage was unorganized and jumped back and forth to and from different times throughout the day. We originally were not going to hire a videographer but when we learned a few months before the wedding that my grandparents were going to be unable to attend due to health reasons, we scrambled to find someone that would be in our price range but would capture the day with style. We found Windy City Production and were fortunate that they were available for our wedding. We told them what we were looking for and they were able to give us everything we wanted within our price range. Even though my husband and I have crazy work schedules (we work off shifts and 12 hr shifts), they were able to work with us to have a face-to-face meeting before the wedding and after to give us the DVD. Sam and Katie are incredibly personable and genuinely cared about getting to know us and our vision for the wedding. They were very professional and early to every meeting and every part of the wedding they were asked to attend. Sam was able to capture moments I had completely forgotten about! When we received our DVD I cried all over again. The quality of the video exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier. After watching Windy City Photography do my cousin's wedding about 4 years ago, I knew that I had to book them also. And sure enough, when I got engaged this past January, they were one of the first I called up. Sure I shopped around just a bit.... but WCP had the best pricing and were the easiest to work with. Katie always returned my emails and made time for me....that personal experience is very important for a nervous bride. Anyway, Madelyn was my photographer on the day of our wedding and she was just cute as pie. Kathy was our videographer and she was very chipper and kept reminding me how excellent all the shots were looking. WCP delivered their product 100% on time. Hi Katie- I don't think making a slam video of your client and posting it on the internet is taking the high road. Perhaps instead of filming your client's emails to you, you could have called me to rectify the situation. When I sent you those emails I was simply communicating with you to try to make your job, of delivering what your client wants, as easy as possible. I was genuinely trying to fix the situation. Your video proves my point that your emails were indeed nasty. It is now clear that my suspicions were correct, you were trying to be mean instead of helping your client. I wrote the review because I wish someone had warned me before I hired you. You bully brides into taking down their unfavorable reviews. You went so far as to tell a wedding website that you never worked with me to try and get them to take my review down. I had to send in multiple examples of proof that you worked with us to have it put back up. Why not call me instead and ask me to take down my review, or better yet to see what you could do to rectify the issues we were having? I sincerely want to help brides so they know what they are getting themselves into because this is supposed to be such a special time in a Bride's life. She shouldn't have to deal with bullies in the beginning of her marriage. Please re-read the first sentence of my review. I never said you ruined my wedding. I said you almost ruined my wedding and you did ruin our wedding video. Your lack of attention to detail is definitely displayed in the fact that your slam video is incorrectly titled due to your oversight. We hired Windy City Production after watching one of my peer's wedding videos. It was one of the easiest decisions we made; we never even met with Katie or Sam! It seemed to be a no-brainer. We trusted them from the very beginning just based on the quality of their posted videos, my peer's recommendation and the initial phone conversation. The quality and value was exceptional! The morning of my wedding, I was informed it would be Kathy shooting our video. Which wasn't what I expected, but she was very sweet and did a great job capturing our day! She caught every special moment. (Thank you Kathy!) My only advise would be to be clear if there are certain moments you want included in your video and/or highlight video. (But that goes with every vendor. Be clear and don't second guess yourself or your vendor.) My husband and I are both SO pleased with Windy City Production! We almost went without a wedding video due to budget. I must insist, GET THE VIDEO! Its the only way you can truly re-live the moments, pictures just don't capture your special day's true emotion. Sam completely blew us away! He just does his job so well. He MAKES moments happen by pulling you aside with not only your groom but also with all the other behind-the-scenes people like your mom, your sister, etc. He really gets you to come back to the moment and BE PRESENT with those around you amidst the chaos. Wow- I cannot say enough good things about Windy City Production. My fiance and I hired them to shoot (video) our wedding this past June in Chicago. I had already booked a photographer and decided afterwards that I wanted a video. If I had not already booked my photographer, I would have had Windy City Production do both my photos and video. Their work is AMAZING! From the very first meeting with Katie, I knew that we were in great hands. Katie was not pushy and really wanted to know what we wanted out of our wedding video. She did not try to push a larger package or try to get us to get something we did not want. After reviewing the videography packages, we decided to go with the Gold package so that we could get the raw footage. Katie made the entire process very convenient and even drove to me to receive payment. About a week prior to the wedding, Sam, our main videographer, contacted me to make sure that he knew exactly what we wanted captured on our big day. I emailed Sam a list of details that I wanted captured that day and he ensured that every detail would be. On the day of our wedding Sam and Kathy showed up on time, and were very unobtrusive. Both Sam and Katy were very personable and a pleasure to have around that day. Kathy even took the lead in staging the suite with the bridal bags and shoes to get some great shots for the video. I was so happy that she did this because my photographer had no idea what he was doing. As I mentioned earlier, I wish I had booked Windy City Production to also do my photos. A few days after the wedding we received a link for our "teaser" video. The short video was great and we were so excited to get our other videos. Sam and Katie contacted me to find out what songs we would like in our videos. My fiance and I are not good at picking stuff like that out so we left that up to Windy City Production. A short time later, we received a link to our cinematic film to view and request edits. The video was absolutely wonderful. Sam and Kathy captured EVERY detail that I wanted captured. This made me happy because my photographer missed a lot of details that I asked him to capture. I wanted a few things changed in the cinematic video, nothing major just minor edits. Sam was happy to make the edits and set up a time for me to come view the full length video in their studio. When I went to view my full length video, Sam had already made the edits to my cinematic film! Sam ensured that the videos were everything that I wanted and even made a shorter condensed version of the cinematic film to include with my DVD. Sam also showed me how I could take snapshots of the video and turn them into photographs since my photographer did not capture a lot of the details of the day. It is evident through their work that Sam and Katie really have passion and talent for their work. I HIGHLY recommend Windy City Production for anyone looking for wedding videographer. This was probably the best decision we made for our wedding. We spent over a year planning the wedding and it went by so fast. Katie laughed the whole way through she made me feel so at ease! Katie arrived the bridal suite before the ceremony. Our wedding was at one pm. After the wedding ceremony we spent no less than 4 hours doing a photography shoot on a trolley and at the Lincoln park Zoo. Then she came with us to the reception and was there until after 11pm. Katie and Kathy had a long intense day with an emotional bride a bumbling wedding party and the sheer hours that they put in for us! They were a nice team and I couldnt have been more thrilled with their (seeming) attention to detail on our wedding day! ****edit: A few problems. When I was shown the video of my photos I had to sign a release form in order to receive them. I hated the editing but let's face it.... I can't go back in time and get new photos from the wedding day so obviously I wanted whatever Katie had. Im handy with photo editing myself so I thought ... No problem I'll just ask for the raw files rather than the edited photos and I'll edit myself. Katie said that was fine. Flash forward to six months after the wedding I had to badger and beg texting her once a week for the photos before she finally sent them. ..... The files are Locked. F*ck. Still trying to work this out but thankful to have the raw files (the edited photos were very pink and she changed the colors of everyone's clothing.... Clothing I meticulously took a year choosing. So even the locked raw files are still wayyyyyyy better than the edited photos) Flash forward to 7 and a half months after our wedding.... Still haven received the photo album that came with the package we bought. I suppose that's not coming. Note: -tons of photos of my dad who I told her I wasn't close to and didn't wish lots of photos of him. -zero photos of me and my mother who raised me. Very few of her in general. Sob. -zero candid photos of my girls getting dressed in the bridal suite even though Katie was there early. Sob double sob. -very few pretty photos of the girls at all. (So many fab photos of all the boys in ALL 4 locations we went to through the day --- Yet the photos of the girls are all taken in ONE of the locations wtf) sob sob sob. -very few shots of the Lincoln park zoo even though we were there for hours. Hardly any candid trolley shots of the group while everyone was having fun. Pretty much a bummer at the end seeing the photos because Katie, her assistant, and her husband were all such great people. They were so lovely to deal with on the actual wedding day. I'm just a bit disappointed. I feel like most of my issues could have been solved 2 months before the wedding if she would have gone over what I wanted or expected from the family/friend shots. If she would have asked beforehand the style of editing I preferred. Instead of waiting until the day of the wedding when stress anxiety and excitement were high-- not to mention I was getting married! (She was trying to have me bring up my Pinterest wedding board literally an hour after the ceremony .... I shouldn't have to bring out my phone on my wedding day! So I didn't and the photos... About 2 or 3 weeks before the big day my fiance and I decided last min. we wanted to get a videographer and WCP was able to get us a quote and give us the information we needed in no time! My daughter didn't think we "needed" a wedding video. After watching a W.C.P. video from my friend's son's wedding, I was hooked! I knew I just had to have Windy City produce a video of my daughter's wedding. Katie was a delight to speak with over the phone. Very professional, personable, helpful with an entrepreneurial flair!! I have nothing but good things to say about Katie and her team at Windy City (and True Sounds Entertainment)! I loved that they all made great strides to work together as a seamless unit, coordinating a timeline for my day between the photographer and the DJ from TSE. Katie even took it upon herself to do research and make phone calls to find me a great place to take photos before our ceremony so I wouldn't have to worry about it! She set me up with Sam, a great photographer who not only captured our day beautifully, but was very friendly, flexible, and generous with his time. Sal and his partner greeted me with a thoughtful gift bag the day of the wedding and never stopped making sure I got the photos that I wanted. He was even happily willing to stay about half an hour longer than I had hired him for to capture our sparkler send off which got a bit delayed. Overall, I felt very taken care of by both Windy City and True Sounds Entertainment and would highly recommend anyone to use their bundle packaging. Great prices and quality service! ****EDIT: I wrote an initial review here with very nice things to say about Katie and her team because I was so pleased with how kind and attentive she was before and on the day of my wedding. However, my experiences changed after the wedding was over... While Katie was quick to respond, attentive to my needs, and generous with her help before the event, she was hard to reach and manipulative afterwards. I felt that she did not treat me with the respect I deserved as a customer and did not give me adequate information about her policies before withholding photos that I was under the impression were already included in my package. I am unhappy with the level of professionalism displayed with this company, but overall cannot complain too much about the quality of the product. I would say there were some issues with the organization of the photos presented to me. It took my husband and I hours to look through all the photos to find our favorites because there were many duplicates and all the photos were out of order from the timeline of the day. I would also say, after we reviewed the photos ourselves and compared our favorites to what was placed in our photo album, there were some obvious bad choices for which were best to include (ie. photos of people with awkward expressions vs. smiling faces). Not to mention, when our photo album arrived, there was a cute tag included with the names "Lexy and Adam" attached, although my husband's name is Jordan... Overall, I just felt that after the wedding, the care and attentiveness I appreciated so much before the wedding was all gone and I was no longer a priority for them, which was unfortunate because she was very kind and easy to work with initially. read more

I would like to leave an honest review, as I wish when I was planning my wedding last year people were more open and honest, I will start off positively saying that they were an affordable wedding package with photos, video, and Dj services. I already had a Dj so I did not use them for that. Which my Dj is just about the only thing that was 110 percent at my wedding, so thank goodness I went with my gut and stuck with my oringal Dj. I feel guilty writing this review, because Katie is a very sweet person. And the video previews she puts together are amazing. Everytime I see one on Facebook, I am green with envy because I think about the fact that we paid for a bridal hotel suite so the photographer can take photos before mass, and Katie was a no show, in fact, I was late for my wedding waiting for her to arrive. I did receive an apology, but that's just it, an apology, and I didn't even know she wouldn't be making it to our hotel until my husband texted my mom to let her know that Katie was at mass and not attempting to get to where I (the bride was at) also, my husband gave a speech about his father that past that year, which was not recorded in our final video, as well as our full first dance (that my husband sang to me) was not in there, I did not realize I was paying for a commercial. The only reason I signed my contract that I was happy with the work is because there were moments captured in my PHOTOS that I did appreciate. read more

Katie did an INCREDIBLE job photographing our wedding on August 8, 2015. When we first met with her she had such a charismatic personality that we instantly connected with. She spent time getting to know us, what we were looking for in our pictures, and kept in contact leading up to our wedding as I sent different samples of shots and wedding videos so she knew exactly the feel I was going for and let me tell you she NAILED it! Katie was so professional, showed up on time, if not a few minutes early, at my house for pre-ceremony pictures, as we were getting ready. She paid close attention to detail yet we hardly even knew she was there. She did a great job getting a wide variety of shots in the short amount of time before and after our ceremony. Although I love pictures, my biggest fear was being constantly yanked out of our reception for a picture to the point that I wouldn't be able to soak it all in or standing out in the hot August sun for hours because we wouldn't be able to nail the right pose, but the truth is it was nothing like that. My bridal party kept asking me where I found her because she was so amazing, moved quickly, was very professional, and knew exactly what she was doing and showed so much creativity. Katie and her crew blended into the crowd during the church ceremony and the reception, but managed to capture every shot possible, including our friend's laughing hysterically at my brother in laws best man roast, my nephew and father sitting along the riverfront all unraveled during bridal shots, and all the excitement on the dance floor. Although I know that I will never be able to top my wedding day and the birth of my children as "the best day ever", the day that I opened up the files to see all of the gorgeous shots from the wedding and as we watched our wedding video, it'll definitely be a day I will never forget. My family and I laughed and cried reliving the day. Not only did she capture all of the important shots, she went above and beyond to capture so so much more. Not only were we impressed, but I have had several people from my wedding party and attendees at my reception reach out during and afterwards to get her information. I booked my photography, videography, and photo booth through Katie and it was honestly the best money we have ever spent!
