Hadn't been there for a year due to other commitments, and stopped in again recently. Huge disappointment. Micro brewing on site is gone. My food was overcooked and my wife ordered a sandwich which use to be made fresh but came out wrapped in plastic like you would find at a gas station. Oh and my beer was flat. Mentioned it and got a shrug. I know businesses have tightened their belts but this was terrible. Once my favorite, never again.

This place is too notch…read more They are phenomenal. When you are waiting for a beer I mean it seems like priority I've never seen service like this at anywhere that serves beer. Just remarkable speed and care. I had like five people ask me if I was good while I was waiting for a beer just the exact speed you want from a bar. This place is just remarkable. Also tried the food also great. The owners really care and it shows. Also comedy shows here were amazing !!!

Root Down Brewing is downtown Phoenixville and not too far from the famous Colonial theatre where…read morethe 1958 classic movie, 'The Blob' was filmed. It's a cool place that I wished I had more time to visit. What drew my interest the number of vegan options that they had on their menu. Vegan Nachos and Vegan Pizzas. There are also some handhelds as well. I was with a group of 35 at another restaurant that did not have vegan options so I called ahead, placed my order and picked it up around 6:30 pm. At that time, there was a good sized crowd inside and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I paid for my vegan pizza, and then without drawing too much attention to myself, walked into the restaurant and went to the second floor that was reserved for us. My pizza was excellent. The Vegan Blanco Vegan Mozzarella, Tofu Ricotta, Sauteed Spinach, EVOO, Garlic I haven't had pizza in about 3 months so i was definitely looking forward to it. I really enjoyed how they did the Tofu Ricotta the Vegan Mozzarella. My only critique is this - When working with vegan cheese - especially shredded, let it sit at room temperature before popping it in the oven. By doing this, you avoid the 'matchstick' look on the pizza. What happens is that the vegan cheese going from cold to hot is too extreme so it doesn't melt, or spread out - it essentially cooks / burns in place. Having worked with vegan cheese companies over the years, there is a misconception that it is bad to leave the vegan cheese outside on the countertop - not really, it's not cheese. I devoured my pizza and appreciated having a vegan option besides fries and a veggie medley.
