Hiring Tom to drive us around was the BEST decision we made during our wine tasting weekend! First, Tom is extremely courteous and attentive. While wine tasting, Tom would go back to the car and grab a box for our purchased wine. He'd work with the tasting associate to load up our goodies and would carry the box back to the car. Second, Tom is extremely knowledgeable. While I somewhat expected him to know a few things about the area, Tom seemed to know EVERYTHING about the various wineries, landscape and viticulture of the region. There were many times I noticed the tasting room associate looking at Tom for information, and he would kindly jump in and finish THEIR story. Kind of entertaining to watch. Third, he is very trustworthy. His business model is that he meets you at a predetermined location (i.e. your hotel) and then drives your car. Because of this, we arranged for Tom to drop us off in downtown Walla Walla and he drove our car back to our hotel so that we only needed 1 Uber ride and had our car for the morning. Extremely convenient and I would have zero issues doing that again. Lastly, the price is worth it. The fantastic service aside, it was very worth the money to avoid driving intoxicated. I just had another awesome wine tour with Tom! I have chosen Tom as my guide 3 times and every time I miss him when it's over. This time was a repeat moms get away! He showed up with a cooler (I swear the man is psychic because everything we forgot he had) waters, and fresh picked raspberries and cherries from his garden! As always Tom was attentive and we wanted for nothing. He opened doors, carried our bags, loaded/unloaded the car, and most importantly he paid attention!! I'll start by saying we had been wine tasting in Walla Walla before. I'll also say that we had no idea what we were doing until using Tom as a personal wine chauffeur. We were hooked up with him because he donated one of his busy days to a great organization (Spokane Guild School). We bid on and won the package and were blown away by our experience. As others have mentioned, he not only takes care of you (driving, water, sunscreen, etc.) but he knows a ton! Some friends and I had Tom as our driver when we were in town for a few days. He was an *excellent* guide--easy-going, very knowledgeable and plugged-in to the local scene! It was clear he wanted us to have the best experience possible, and thanks to him, it was an awesome day! It was the best of both worlds, since we visited an old favorite and discovered some great spots! Just what we wanted. He really went out of his way--when we really, really wanted to try a particular grape, he even asked a winemaker if we could sample a wine that was not part of the tasting that day. Tom was also a conscientious driver, and I felt completely safe in his hands. As other reviewers note it keeps costs down to have him drive your car (or rental car, apparently--you can add him as a driver for the day). This was easily the best decision we made on our trip to Walla Walla. We have never been to WW before but planned a trip for our anniversary to wine taste. I eventually found out about Wine Country 2 Go and Tom via a Yelp search that he quickly responded to. Over the course of 3 months we went back and forth with no less than 50 emails regarding planning, scheduling, and hotel, dining and winery suggestions. We were constantly tinkering with the winery scheduling and throughout the process he never once had any issues with it. Once we finally met in person he was better than advertised. He was fully prepared for both days of wine tasting. He brought two coolers with ice packs in order to keep wine that we purchased cold (necessary since the weather was 90 degrees each day), he had tons of sanitizer and cleaning products and we felt safe the entire time. His knowledge of the WW area and the history is fantastic and we learned a ton during our two days with him. Everyone at every winery knows who he is and I also highly recommend having him come to the tastings with you as he was able to get us pours of wines that weren't on the tasting list. He also took pictures of us and the wineries throughout the day and sent us a dropbox file at the end of our trip with amazing pictures. I could write three more paragraphs about how great of an experience it was - that's how great of a time we had with Tom. I can't tell you the last time I've written a yelp review but this was certainly one that was well deserving. Had a great day with Tom. He drove my wife and I around in our car to about 6 different wineries. He knows a TON about the region, the individual wineries, and everybody knows him. We got to tour Basel on our own because he's friends with the manager of the grounds. Hands down the best tour guide in Wine Country! I hesitate to review Tom and Wine Country2go because I don't want the secret to get out - ha ha! In all seriousness, Tom as our tour guide was truly wonderful. We came in January, which is a quiet time of year. Tom is extremely knowledgable of the area and knows many of the vineyards so he was able to come up with a game plan for us newbies. We had an excellent experience. He was really flexible and laid back. He drives your car to keep down the overhead down so it's an excellent way to see wine country in the comfort of your own car where you can bring snacks, waters, picnic lunch...whatever you want. Tom goes along with your day and doesn't rush you anywhere you go. Also, sometimes you have your guides that you feel forced to chat with. Tom is great and goes along with the vibe. He doesn't chat endlessly if he feels you're in for a relaxing ride but he educates you about the area as you're going along and he's truly interesting to speak to so we ended up chatting with him the whole way. We're a married couple in our 30's so it was like having our super cool and chilled out Uncle driving us around and not having to worry about drinking and driving and learning stuff along the way. Our troupe of five ladies tumbled into Walla Walla from across the country for a bachelorette weekend, and Tom made sure it was one for the books!
